@BShark He completely disrupts the other team. There is a ton going on with Marcus that never shows up in the box score. There were several balls he tipped that resulted in turnovers for us, and him picking up 9 rebounds, and challenging that taller player at the rim ( he picked up a foul ), the step through drive to the basket looked a little like Frank, with some Malik ankle breaking thrown in. His shot still looks terrible, but he did manage to guide one of those dead ducks in. He is one good jump shot away from being a star.

@BShark No doubt Durant is more athletic...quicker step...better shot. But Dedric is KD in slow motion. Same inside out game, same drives the basket, and Dedric is probably a better rebounder.
@mayjay The benefit of the ROKU is you get the full screen on your tv. I was really impressed with the quality of the picture as well. I had canceled ESPN + until I found out the two exhibition games were only available through them, so i relented.
@BShark I know you'll disagree with me on this, but this is who I think Dedric resembles more than Niang: No doubt KD is a better 3 point shooter, but the resemblance is very similar.

@mayjay That pretty much makes my point. I'm sure they have a list, too. We're comparing lists to condemn and marginalize the other side as the evil ones, when in reality, none of the crazies ever represent the vast majority of their party. These are the true believers, who have swallowed whole the rhetoric that each side spew on an everyday basis. Both sides want you to think the other side is just like that terrorist that tried to blow people up, or shoot them. The Borg is itching to have as much conflict and turmoil as possible. This division is a planned event. Everybody is in on it except us, and we're the unwitting fools walking straight into our own demise. I don't think we have the capacity to fully understand how bad it will be.
@mayjay The situation has deteriorated to where they are shooting people at softball games, and they are sending pipe bombs through the mail. This is all by design. You can't overthrow a government without pure rage, and both sides are driving people crazy...They are agitating for a civil war, and this is what it looks like. It's alot easier to overthrow a country when they are at war with themselves.

Our country is being overthrown, as are every democratically elected government in the world. It is unfolding right before our eyes. They are in the process of crashing the stock market. Both republicans and democrats are deeply involved. Immigration is involved. The middle east wars were designed to create massive migration. Recently in Sweden, immigrants coordinated a firebomb attack simultaneously in 4 different cities. So, mixed in with people wanting a better life are people wanting to destroy the country they migrated to. My belief is Maduro is making life so terrible, he is trying to displace people to cause migration. Some force is manipulating a whole slew of South American economies, which is causing economic turmoil all over the continent, which will, in turn cause massive migration. If they build the wall, they'll simply figure out a new system for entry in the country. This process is inevitable - they will destroy the nation state.

i miss his posts. I found them very entertaining. Great writers always use hyperbole a bit, and i thought he weaved it in like a maestro. The team needs confidence. I'm not sure we'll be firing on all cylinders by the Sparty game, but at some point in the season, this will be a great team. We have all the elements in place.
@kjayhawks It's all about getting comfortable. I think we'll see a lot of Grimes, Dotson, Marcus, and Charlie, and they'll get better and better. No way is Grimes ready for the NBA right now, but he will grow into a huge role with this team, and we'll see where that takes him by the end of the year. Dotson is a perfect point guard for this team, imo. Controlled, steady, quick as a cat, plays excellent defense. No doubt Garrett will get heavy minutes, and he deserves every one of them. As much as I like Charlie, he is a real liability on defense. Guards just blow by him. Emporia St guards. Doke played poorly, but I think with some coaching on double teams, he will rebound nicely. Dedric is a bad ass, plain and simple.
The way garrett plays, he'll get a lot of minutes. He is just nails in every way except the 3 pointer. His drive to the basket was a work of art.
@KirkIsMyHinrich It was pretty good. I liked that Bahe color guy. I wish they would spend a few bucks, and lose the headsets for gueldner and his partner.

@Kcmatt7 I got a ton of confidence after reading Coach Self's comments. He isn't worried a bit. I loved the maturity he showed - this wasn't a Stubby Miller shi* fit. At some point, we'll know the story, and i am not going to condemn anyone until that time.
@HighEliteMajor We have a basketball game tonight. We have a pretty good team. All of our transfers that you complained about last year are all now eligible to play. We have two 5 star
freshman guards ( Dotson/Grimes) that are pretty good.We also got a big guy in the middle named Dave McCormick. BTW, LeGerald Vick came back for his senior year. Dedric Lawson was actually named to the pre season All American team.
God has a sense of humor, and it seems that he defies those of us who purport ourselves to be the most self righteous. I don't mind being called a mindless Pollyanna one bit. I'm going to continue to root for KU, and Coach Self. As for the rest of this process, I'm going to allow it to play out, and if it comes out there were things that were done wrong, then I'll feel bad. No sense in borrowing trouble. As for me, I'm going to enjoy some basketball tonight!

@KUSTEVE I take that back- it was Embiid instead of KD on that team. I play 8 to 10 lineups a night, so I get them confused. That OT helped me immensely- I had Fultz and McConnell, and Reddick, and they all banked last night.
@Kcmatt7 i had him last night- he scored me 77 fantasy points last night. i had him in a lineup with AD, and KD. Then i had essentially 6 scrubs. I cashed, though.
@mayjay Simmons is a beast in daily fantasy . He is a triple double threat every time he plays. If he could develop a 3 point shot....oh my goodness.

@BShark Dotson/Garrett/Agbaji/KJ/Big Dave. Charlie and Lightfoot off the bench first. We'll need more size, and more wings, but that is a super solid core of experienced players. 7 guys with that much experience is such a luxury for us.
@JayHawkFanToo I think they're beatable, but I think they will be a real good team. I watched their Blue and White scrimmage, and they have some tremendous athletes. That Herro is a really talented player with real quick hands. They don't have as many big names, but the athleticism is off the charts. Our game with them should be quite a spectacle.
@Kcmatt7 We can bring the thunder or bring the speed. This is a multi layered behemoth. It will be fascinating to watch this team play in a variety of ways.
As good as Silvio is, his absence opens the door to a Lawson/Lawson front line, which allows us to also play Vick, Grimes, and Dotson. We instantly morph into the world's first 5 OUT team. 5 shooters ...5 drivers... the 4 Out on STEROIDS...
I never prefer to be number 1 preseason, but I won't complain about it, either. I really think this team could be one of the most dominant teams we've ever had.

You posted when Grimes played, and Bill coached the USA under 18 Olympics. You posted during our summer scrimmages. You posted about our crummy football team. You posted when we got a new AD. You watched every second of Late Night. Now....lets say...If you had never posted after calling one of our players a 'cancer" last year...never made one comment about us making it to the Final Four, never gave your opinion about who was going to start, and were completely AWOL for EVERYTHING ...late night...summer scrimmages...recruiting... the whole she-bang ...until some stupid bullshit came up that makes us look bad, and you about broke your fingers wringing your hands talking about how "ashamed" you were, and you had spent the last 5 years writing negative articles about our team, our coach, our players, and our accomplishments, then I would be calling bullshit on you, too. But you're not on here playing some stupid head game- you're just like me...you love KU. So, don't get suckered in - a dead clock is right twice a day. We will overcome this, and we will be stronger for it at some point.
@BShark I guess we better get a national championship this year. Charlie will never be Naadir, simply because Bill will never let him run the team at pg. Dotson, Garrett, and MacBryde will make sure of it.
