@Woodrow I don't think they would have to be drastically altered. There would have to be a minor amendment made that players can wear whatever shoes they want.
Even if they didn't, they could probably get away with posting pictures and things in certain shoes. Either way, I think it would work itself out pretty smoothly.
@Woodrow That's my stance. And I think the shoe thing would work itself out. They do it at all levels in Pro Sports. Nike is currently providing all three major sports uniforms.

Newman just needs to go overseas. He won't see time in the NBA. He is too short and just not explosive enough of an athlete to hang. He is a great scorer and would probably flourish in Europe.

@JayHawkFanToo The lengths that people will go to for politics are just comical at this point. Either we have a legit crazy person who is sending bombs or we have a conspiracy going on in an attempt to rally a base before an election. And the sad part is that I couldn't tell you which side the crazy would be on or which side the conspiracy to rally the base would be on.
Even if this guy ended up being a Hillybilly wearing a MAGA hat who got arrested, Conservatives would immediately brush it off and say he was planted by the Democratic party. But the sad part is that I really I could totally see a scenario where an extremist Liberal sent a bunch of dud bombs to Liberals trying to pin it on a Conservative. So as you so astutely pointed out, neither side even cares.

Maybe Bill knows a landlord he can introduce a recruits parents to. Maybe that landlord is running a one time only special for this nice property in Lawrence. Maybe Bill knows the local Chevy dealer. And the Chevy dealer is offering a $5 down and no payments for 18 months lease on a Dodge Charger. Maybe Bill knows a guy who is looking for a new personal assistant to take care of his dog during the day. Maybe that job pays surprisingly well.
But of course, Bill didn't ask that person to provide those benefits, so how in the world could he be "aware" they were offered some sort of deal?

I thought Bill chose specific wording. He is confident in how his staff operates. That is the best line of the day. Same things going on as always. They never discuss numbers with anyone. They may help find a parent housing, but they won't know the details or the amounts of anything. They won't "offer" anything. But maybe they have relationships built with good people.
This didn't change the KU basketball program or college basketball.

At some point the NCAA will either cave to letting players get side deals or they will cease to exist. At least at the current trajectory, College Athletics has outgrown it's model and there will be a tipping point.
I would think that Adidas would pay them off to not say a word from here on out.

I felt like the NCAA had a smoking gun in that case, in addition to receiving benefits. And I'm pretty sure the NCAA warned all teams recruiting him that there were issues with his transcripts as well as his SAT score (knowing he failed the ACT thrice before).
He was like the walking example of ineligibility. He had fake transcripts. He had a fake SAT score. And his brother's travel to games was paid directly by the school lol.
Not that this situation isn't similar. It is. Just seems that Rose couldn't even ignore the allegations and leave like Cliff (or De Sousa could do). They had the evidence of three major violations.
