Let's Bragg about Bragg for a minute • Nov 05, 2015 10:15 PM

@BeddieKU23 Yay! We got to see our first game of the season for KU! I know its a pre season warm up but it still counts to me. Im psyched for this season big time.

Aside from Ellis, I thought Bragg and Hunter were our best players. I loved it when they were both out there together. Great tandem!

Our guard play sucked i thought. But, Im going to rewatch the game right now on espn replay just for fun and see what I missed before.

That Pitt State team is gonna be good this year. They really gave KU all it could handle for the first 15 min or so.

You got to know when hold em • Nov 04, 2015 11:28 PM

@nuleafjhawk and apparently, know when to hold em.

I used to love Kenny but that was a looooong time ago. I even saw his movie Six Pack, in the theater.

You got to know when hold em • Nov 04, 2015 11:24 PM

@JRyman Good post. Personally I think we can hold Coach Self to his word that he learned new things during the WUGs and will apply them to this season with the shorter clock and the rule changes. He is going to have to IMO.

It's GAMEDAY-eve!!! 11-3-15 • Nov 03, 2015 11:02 PM

@dylans I think we are gonna get Diallo cleared. Even if it isnt by the start of the season.

Royal Takeaways • Nov 03, 2015 11:00 PM

@drgnslayr I echo your sentiment over the Royals. I think its fantastic what they did last year and this year. Although, I cannot honestly call myself a baseball fan. I did not watch one single game. But, I kept track of final scores and read articles more towards the post season when things got interesting. I like baseball well enough. But, basketball and more specifically College Basketball is and has been a passion of mine for a long time.

I feel that Coach Self's best teams have been more experienced vets with equal balances of talent and athleticism. See '08 and '12. This year is the same way. I have an excellent feeling heading into this season and seeing how Coach Self said straight forward that he learned somethings about this team and himself as a coach in the WUGs, I expect a lot of that to carry over to this season. Our guys are tough as nails and they are hungry to erase what happened to them last season and I think Coach Self will let them play more and micromanage less. I hope he does anyways, if he holds himself accountable for what he learned this summer.

Its time to go bring KU another NC banner KU fans! # RCJHGOKU!!

PS. see how I turned that into a Jayhawk post? lol

@Jesse-Newell Thanks Jesse, for responding here on this. Everyone on here totally values your knowledge and thoughts on all aspects of KU Hoops. Thanks!! Rock Chalk!

ROYALS vs Mets Game 5 for the CROWN • Nov 02, 2015 09:53 PM

@globaljaybird I can't believe they won!! Thats amazing for the team, the organization, the city and the fans. Way to go Royals!

The game went on too long for me, I had to wake up early and I live in the eastern time zone, so I woke up to very good news this am.

Rock Chalk Royals!

Diallo • Nov 02, 2015 09:51 PM

@Statmachine Yep, we need some more good news. #freeCheick with #TaketheCrown

ROYALS vs Mets Game 5 for the CROWN • Nov 01, 2015 10:36 PM

@globaljaybird Kaufmann East? ;)

Back to Basket Scoring/Bragg & Diallo • Nov 01, 2015 05:15 PM

@HighEliteMajor Thats really cool to hear from Ole Franny about Bragg. I kind of thought that Bragg had some inherent toughness to begin with. I mean, the kid played ball in July with a broken nose. Thats toughness.

Matt Tait article on KU ball • Nov 01, 2015 04:36 PM

@jaybate-1.0 This country was founded on public discourse. Basketball has grown and evolved based on the same. I love the game and love the players, even if it is love/hate and for better or worse, I wouldnt have it any other way. I watch the game and learn the game by watching and reading whats on here. Ive never played organized ball but learning about it is something I will never get tired of. And, really, thats what this site is all about to me.

Back to Basket Scoring/Bragg & Diallo • Nov 01, 2015 06:01 AM

@HighEliteMajor Yah, if Bragg and Mick can play like they did in July or even better, we'll be golden. Cant wait!!

I wonder if I'll be able to see the pre season warm up games way over here in VT?

ROYALS vs Mets WORLD SERIES Game 4 • Nov 01, 2015 05:56 AM

@globaljaybird Odds that the Mets will beat KC 3 times in a row? Probly not good. Not good at all.

Odds KC wins just one more game? Pretty darn decent Id say.

Mets vs Royals - World Series Game 3 • Oct 31, 2015 04:38 PM

@nwhawkfan I just watched The Sandlot, one of my favorites, so I think we'll be good tonight.

How many? • Oct 30, 2015 09:18 PM

@JRyman I don't know about everyone else but I have weekly video conferences with the headmaster himself, Coach Self. He values my basketball expertise and medical expertise as well. He asked me, he said," Lulu, what are we going to do this season with all this depth and experience and talent?" I said, thats easy coach, we're gonna win another Big 12 title and then catch our stride by March and you betchyer beans, we're gonna make a deep run in the NCAA tournament too!" Thats what I said.

Now, as to the occasional disgruntled feelings towards Perry and Jamari last season. Hey, we are fans, its what we are supposed to do. Being a fan would be awfully boring and trite if all we did was just smile and wave a pom pom, win or lose, basket or no basket, foul or no foul, etc. Right?

Matt Tait article on KU ball • Oct 30, 2015 06:45 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Yah, good point. My thinking was when he said We, he meant all of us, and Im pretty sure all of us dont think Traylor will start, or should start.

Matt Tait article on KU ball • Oct 30, 2015 06:43 PM

@jaybate-1.0 How many minutes will we see Bragg and Perry on the court together? 10-15?

Matt Tait article on KU ball • Oct 29, 2015 10:44 PM

In this article he says," the first five — which, at this point, we presume to be Frank Mason, Devonte' Graham, Wayne Selden, Perry Ellis and, at least to start the season, Jamari Traylor."

"We presume?"

Has he been reading this site at all?

Unless he knows something we dont, I think he is mistaken on Traylor getting the starting nod. Unless Traylor has exponentially improved since July and Hunter has declined, IMO Hunter will start, or at least SHOULD start. After all he is better, he is the better all around player. Hunter is the best starting 5 man we have outside of Cheick, right now.

Side note: We all know what is more than likely going to happen with Diallo's situation. I didnt believe it myself until just recently. I was hoping and believing that Diallo would be cleared...by tomorrow, 10/30. That doesnt look likely at all right now. Im beginning to think we wont see him on the court which in and of itself is tragic and unfair. Ok Im done thinking about this now bcuz it just pisses me off and makes me say stupid things I dont mean about other teams and players.

Steel Nets and the Vampire LeBate. • Oct 29, 2015 09:44 PM

@jaybate-1.0 That was a great story. I loved reading T.S. Eliot in high school. And, I discovered Anne Rice and the Vampire Lestat when I was a junior in HS looking for something new and scary to read right around this same time. How on earth you managed to link one of my favorite anti heroes, T.S. Eliot and playground basketball is a thing of beauty. Inspiring.

@globaljaybird It is sooo dang cool!! When have the Royals EVER gone to back to back World Series? Its freekin awesome.

@HighEliteMajor LoL! Great article on Wildebeest milking! I have not lived until I knew the differences.

@drgnslayr Math and science and english and or language classes. Core curriculum stuff right? Well gosh darn it, Diallo can speak 4 languages!! You would think that he would be proficient in all the other stuff too, wouldnt you? I sure would.

@drgnslayr I trust in your tea leaf divination skills

@Statmachine I like hearing that type of stuff Stat. Thats stuff we wont get on the other site. Keep it coming!! RCJH

New KU women's coach ... • Oct 27, 2015 09:05 PM

@Jesse-Newell Hey, that was great! Im gonna be watching the womens team closer now, hope they make some noise in the Big 12!

Are we all resigning ourselves to the increasingly distinct possibility that Cheick wont see the court for KU this season? We are days away from the first game with no official word. What the heck is going on?

I mean, I seriously thought we would have an answer by now, for or against.

@JayHawkFanToo Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I still smell a rat though.

@jaybate-1.0 Handler: Person in charge of laundering the money trail so the NCAA cannot find evidence of improper benefits or some other such recruiting violation.

Mitch Lightfoot is officially a Jayhawk • Oct 25, 2015 03:40 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Considering what we have departing from KU next year, we're gonna need him. He might be a project but hey, its one more commit than we had a few hours ago.

@JayHawkFanToo The school his "handler" created for sports...yah Im sure thats a stellar program, totally focused on legally accredited classes. Pardon my skepticism.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Im not apologizing for my opinion. I rarely rock the boat here, I think I get one free pass. Skal does retain some blame though for having said shady handler, manager, coach, what have you.

@jaybate-1.0 That is a truly stellar idea. One that I hope will come to fruition sooner than later. Of course the domestic networks will drag their feet. The status quo would be broken up if your idea were to be put in place. And, we all know that big business likes the status quo to remain as such.

One question though. Would paying the college athletes gain ground in such a new system?

@drgnslayr Again, I say this is outrageous! Its down right twisted and criminal. Skal didnt even go to a real school!! How does he get cleared and the multilingual Diallo doesnt? Its just not right.
Idiot Skal kid should have stayed on the urine soaked streets of Haiti.

Jays vs Royals - ALCS Game 6 • Oct 24, 2015 07:41 PM

@brooksmd Way to go Royals. #backtoback! I bet KC is going absolutely bonkers right now. Im glad they won it at home instead of in Toronto.

@RockkChalkk Ohhhhh man. I said this earlier. Its outrageous that Skal got cleared under such suspicious circumstances. It reeks of corruption and bribery. Im near apoplectic at this point and will be blown way over that sentiment if Diallo doesn't get cleared. ( I still hope he will ) If he doesnt, I hope that Coach Self fights it with all he's got. Double lawyer up and go to battle. I hope someone else like maybe Bilas gets involved too. If that doesnt work and Diallo still has to sit then maybe it would give some sort of national exposure to the fact that Kentucky is crooked, Cal is crooked and the NCAA shows blatant favoritism to those crooked schools.

@jaybate-1.0 KU should lead a boycott. Find a way to have a separate tournament for major div 1 schools. Wisconsin, Michigan state type teams.

KU should still play for the Big 12 streak, just say Eff You to the NCAA tourney.

@RockkChalkk Im actually pissed that Skal was cleared before Diallo. Skal's handler, coach, representative, whatever, those ties are questionable at best. It reeks of corruption and bribery.

Perspective On Recruiting.... • Oct 22, 2015 10:54 PM

@drgnslayr I just read that Calipari and WWW article. Man, fornicate both those guys with a red hot poker, right up their anal sphincters. True or not, some of those connections there are down right outrageous and should be investigated by the NCAA. Immediately!

ESPN Predictions On Top Recruits • Oct 22, 2015 10:38 PM

@HighEliteMajor Cool. Bolden would be a nice get for KU. I know zero about him other than he is ranked 20 and is sposed to be good, very good.

Question with a lead up. We are losing, Hunter, Traylor, Perry, and Manning. We have to assume that if KU has a stellar season this year that Selden and possibly even Svi could bail early. Thats 5 guys out!!
Bolden cant replace all of them on his own. Who else would possibly come to KU as a guard or wing prospect? We are going to need it.

@jaybate-1.0 So, should we expect him to give the team a bit more free range to "play" this season?
I read one of his quotes from Media day about micromanaging coaches, how they all do it. But, he seemed to hint that he might let his guys play more on their own. With the rule changes, maybe he will have to.

"Royals vs Jays - ALCS Game 4" • Oct 21, 2015 12:30 AM

Which team last repeated to the World Series?

Bill Self to coach Spurs... • Oct 20, 2015 07:34 PM

@drgnslayr Haha, very funny.

@globaljaybird I repeatedly call myself not a baseball fan. Im more of a fair weather fan, literally. Ive got to see Royals games mostly during summer months, go out there in shorts and tshirt, grab a few beers and have some fun, win or lose. But, that said, I think its really cool how good KC is doing again this year. Since Im not in Kansas anymore, I like to read up on how they are doing here from what you all post. I did notice on ESPN, however, that when KC won game two, most of the talk was about how the Blue Jays lost game 2 and not how KC won it. Well, I hope KC can bring back to back World Series appearances to Kansas City. I think both sides of the state line can use something positive to cheer for and be proud of.

Lauri Markkanen committed to Arizona • Oct 19, 2015 06:47 PM

@globaljaybird So does this mean the lightfoot kid is coming to KU? ;) no it does not

ROYALS vs Jays game 2 ALCS • Oct 19, 2015 04:41 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Let's go Mets! Let's go Mets!

Im totally kidding people, relax.

@drgnslayr yes please

@jaybate-1.0 Is everything a conspiracy?

What am I saying? of course it is.

@wissoxfan83 Well thats a relief to me. Im glad to see that the 76ers organization is going to bat for JoJo and that those allegations were old news revisited and that JoJo is working hard to get back on the court. He should know that his Jayhawk Nation is behind him the whole way.

ROYALS vs Jays game 2 ALCS • Oct 18, 2015 04:15 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 2more games Royals fans.

JoJo and his MoJo.... • Oct 17, 2015 07:17 PM

@drgnslayr Yah, I read that yesterday and saw a bit on espn about it too. Smh. We know he can do better than this. He didnt balk at Coach Self or Hudy like that. Not that we know of anyways. If he had, he would have been pine riding healthy or not.

I wonder if he is still dealing with some grief from losing his lil brother. And, he is 21, still a kid by most comparisons. He has some growing up to do and hopefully someone can talk to him and give him some much needed help, spiritually, mentally, physically, everything.

Dont be the next Greg Oden JoJo.
