Watching the game.. we couldn't score. And we couldn't stop them from scoring. I'll happily admit I did not believe we were going to win. I did not believe it was going into overtime. I was sitting back thinking.. meh. All streaks come to an end. It's a fact of life. So that being said. The jubilation of being proven wrong was pretty overwhelming. I enjoyed the hell out of being wrong. I wasn't turning the game off either way. But I will admit I may have tried to beat the traffic myself had I been at the fieldhouse. For what it's worth

At this point these guys have shot so many FTS. I just have to think it comes down to mental as much as anything. I mean they've spent years of their lives for the most part shooting more FTS in a month than most ppl will in their lifetime. It has to be 90 plus percent mental at this point

@approxinfinity they are working on it in practice and then Self is gonna lower the boom on the rest of the ncaa b-ball world when they least expect it. Bout end of March thru early April 😁

@mayjay Lucas definitely had some lazy outlets. Which is disappointing cause he worked so hard on the glass. Then I think maybe what 4 TOS on JJ when he tried to go to the hole and just got stripped

@KirkIsMyHinrich idk if there is a stat for that. But seems like you don't win very many games when ya let the either team throw up 34 treys

@approxinfinity oh I still think about the rebound that Trob got and he one handed it to outlet which he commonly did... And they stole it. And scored 2 to go up by 6 I think. I've said many times if we get that outlet and score that team was never gonna lose a game theyre within 4 pts with a minute to go

@approxinfinity that team was crazy tough mentally. Refuse to lose. It's actually a travesty on history that they had end up playing a UK team that was just way talented. That group outplayed UK. Truth be told they should have lost easily by double digits

@HawkChamp I'm not sure how much more Bill can really control. I mean he can't tuck them all into bed every night by 8 and such. All he can really do is give them the expectations and if they mess up..Punish accordingly.

@KUSTEVE well there you go. Perhaps it's simply the fact that every individual is different. To you my opinion is negative cause it doesnt agree with yours. And to me it's simply tempered and realistic based on what my eyes have seen. If I could see thru your eyes. That would be something wouldn't it

I think they're pretty damn tough. But I also think something is going on right now. Or perhaps just this week. Idk if it's all the press or what. I just haven't seen the bickering amongst the backcourt like I did today. It's a lil bothersome

@DCHawker I'm behind this team and I think they can be good. But there has literally not been one total game that made me ever believe they cut down nets. I'll be happy to be proven wrong. But I think if they make the second weekend it'll be gravy

Looked like alot of bickering amongst each other in the second half. Not sure if all the press is getting to then. Lucas a ton of rebounds but it doesn't help if you just hand them right back. Several of those. Missed FTS at inopportune times. Very lazy defense second half

@Bwag wouldve been nice to see him finish a couple of those.. but he looked aggressive

I would argue that we don't know really how good this team is offensively either having not really faced a stellar defensive team. Such as Villanova perhaps.. Probably won't really know until we face west Virginia who seems to be atleast so far, quite tough defensively. Maximizing the number of possessions seems to be part of the strategy thus far. Which makes sense to me. More possession of hopefully shooting a higher percentage equals outscoring. However. When ya start factoring in alot of turnovers and offensive RBS for the opponent it makes for the close game. In which you need to be able to string together stops defensively. And of course that is the issue were facing right at the moment. Everyone knows Self will have the team playing as close to their ceiling as possible on both ends when it matters. The question is going to be whether that ceiling is high enough to go anywhere. Eye test right now, No. Give it a month it may look different. Prepare yourself though and don't be surprised. If the men don't do it on their own. Look for Self to short change the offense substantially to get what he wants from this group. He won't be afraid to take away their weapons if they don't learn quickly to do it his way.

Hopefully we improve as a team to earn that 1 seed in KC. But I'll say this. This is a year where I actually don't mind if it worked out that we get the first 2 seed and play the 4th 1 seed as long as we get KC. I think alot of years we play better in the tourney as a 2 honestly. And many times that 1st 2 seed does end up getting the benefit when it comes to sites. For example UCLA vs KU in 2007
