@rockchalkjayhawk A couple ends of the spectrum - I believe Yellowstone is on paramount+ as is that new star trek show - discovery. the new Sonic the hedgehog movie is as well - I have a 6 year old. Thereâs a few decent shows/movies if you dig around, but itâs no Netflix thatâs for sure!
@rockchalkjayhawk There are a couple good shows on Paramount+ as well. Helps justify the cost. I figure itâs several hundred dollars to go to a game, so I donât mind spending a few to watch it from the comfort of home. -and itâs still much cheaper than cable or satellite for me.
Surprise!
@approxinfinity bam the spammer please.

NCAA basketball is worse off with no Jay Wright. Will obviously be fine, but he is/was a class act.
What about the ACC and Big East teams?
@wissox Lost so bad he quit basketball! Bill ruined Wright. Lol
Didnât the less talented â22 Hawks Thump Wright as bad as his talented team whooped KU in â18? A wash at best for Philly. Iâd take Bill everyday - equal xs os coach, better recruiter, better record, and heâs still coaching.
@Jethro I like it. Uk and Duke next year. Wish we could get UNC on the regular season schedule as well now that Roy has retired.
@FarmerJayhawk Putin death ray is great too
As someone who has been around feedyards for over 40 years -unfortunately feed timing has nothing to do with the death loss @Crimsonorblue22 itâs too bad as that would be an easy fix - the cattle have feed in front of them all day long - starts at 6 am, second feeding around noon third feeding finishing up around 4:30 - some places only feed twice 6-12 am and 1-4pm - 35,000-95,000 head of cattle per lot, it doesnât happen instantly. Feed timing makes a big difference for cows that are calving - feed once per day at night and they are likely calve in the morning.
The pens were testing up to 150 degrees - wet manure on the ground was black, no shade, 106 degree air temps, high humidity (for here), and zero wind. These dead animals were 400-500# overweight and black too. The feedyards job is to pack weight on them and get good marbling in the meat, that doesnât happen on a skinny animal - they are morbidly obese by the time they leave (or in this case die).
If you want pure comedy gold read any of the comments on twitter about it. - they were poisoned, the rancher needs more water for them, the government did it like they killed the buffalo, chem-trails, all 10,000 died on a ranch etc etc. itâs funny until you realize they are serious and are allowed to vote.
10,000+ cattle dead is hard on the owners of the cattle, they wouldâve had all the expense in the animal with no income/ insurance to cover the loss. The feedyards donât own all the cattle in the yards - just a portion the rest is custom fed by little guys like me - only lost one that I know of - locally raised so they handled the weather better.
Figure $1700-1850/ dead animal x10,000
@BShark that â07 team was pretty saltyâŚwas my first thought. 2021 was not a fun team to watch, completely pushed it out of my mind.
Iâd take Sherron 10x out of 10 over DeJuan. Juando is a nice complimentary player, much like Russel Robinson. Sherron could be featured in the offense. In 09 it was just cole and Sherron carrying the team. Juan isnât that type of player and we should not expect that out of him. Juando is a defensive player that is good at involving his teammates. Sherron was good a driving and scoring the ball, not distributing. Totally different players.
@Jethro broke his spirit if nothing else.
Politics ruined this place for many. Period. I enjoy the basketball talk and if we had kept to it I would enjoy the company of all. Even those who love contentious takes are fine, itâs just basketball - doesnât make a lick of difference beyond entertainment. You can think KU sucks and it doesnât matter. Politics are different - if you think my way of life sucks you can actually do things to take that away. Thatâs a real threat and thus has ranging implications.
The block button is glorious, it has allowed me to return in a limited capacity. Thanks for adding it aprox. Anyone that strays from basketball, particularly those that like to force their covid views on you - Silenced permanently, wahahahaha. I canât remember who all I blocked, but I do know the reading is much improved.
Jaybate is dead. The government killed him when the FBI opened an investigation on KU.
@Jethro His haircut makes him look like a mushroom. Lol
@tis4tim The portal and Mitch playing 5 seasons. Lightfoot did average around 34 wins per season though. Donât know how weâll replace him.
@BShark IMO Part of the reason Roy left was the ease of recruiting to UNC. 90% was going home though.
Who was on the cover of the NCAA champions edition of SI? Coach Kâs last March. Not the actual champions whom ever that was. Really irked me as I wanted a companion to Marioâs miracle SI cover.
@DanR I admitted to something I didnât do as a 5 year old and Iâm still miffed about that forced confession decades later.
@BShark Sheâs a nice person. Hope you can meet someday.
Only two people with minor injuries, workers I believe. It was a gas plant. Other than workers no one shouldâve been too close. Rest easy @BShark Crims is a teacher, should be a-ok.
@wissox These kids did nothing wrong. If folks canât enjoy it now, they probably never will and that is their problem, not ours. What a bunch of miserable people, glad Iâm not one of âthemâ!
IMHO Dave earned MOP in the final four, but Ochai got it for being the best player on the best team.
What cracked me up was Manek thru the ball out with 4.2 seconds remaining, but after KU inbounded and turned it over UNC got the ball back with 4.3. Drama. Probably correct, but I was beginning to wonder how long the game could go. đ
@BShark aaaaarggg!!! Saved you watching Harris run out of bounds. Painful, thank goodness KU was up 3. I was begging for a foul on the inbounds pass. Bill will never do it though.
Personally I was glad it was on TBS!!! CBS doesnât come in over the air (no cable) and it streams rather poorly with many service interruptions. TBS streams beautifully with no issues every time here. CBSâs crappy service has ruined several games for me.
@Kcmatt7 The one he sank? Yeah the water is rising and the rats are jumping off.
@FarmerJayhawk Bruce post this?
@Jethro said in A crazy thought:
A little off subject, but I have to say that the UNC fanbase might be the classiest group of folks I've ever encountered as an opponent. Dozens and dozens of them on another site came in and congratulated us. I was a little shocked. We share a mutual hatred for Dook, and they genuinely were about as gracious as I've ever seen. RCJHGKU.
Last night helps, maybe I can forgive Eric MontrossâŚsomeday. đ
Caleb Love is trouble. Can Juando shut him down?
"Bill's the best in-game coach in the country. He will do whatever his team needs him to do to win. He'll zone, he'll play triangle-and-2, he'll play small, he'll play bigger, he'll play Remy after not playing him at all. He doesn't care. He just wants to win that day. Whatever that looks like, he'll do it. That gives them the edge over everybody else."
Un-named coach
Fire Howard. Suspend Wisconsinâs coach a couple games for grabbing Howard and initiating the fracas. Video with sound makes Wisconsin look super douchey, Michigan uncouth. Both in the wrong, Michigan more so.
@approxinfinity The block user function is slightly broken. Iâm trying to block anyone that brings up covid as I feel the opinions expressed here are mostly dumb and should stick to basketball. Is there any way to block a global moderator so I can enjoy the basketball talk?

@mayjay I dunno. I don't think it's fair to punish the concession workers at the park, etc. I think this whole thing misses the mark a little.
That being said, the Republicans trying to steal elections they can't win is despicable. Rotten to the core.
Here I was thinking about my old buckets friends...I see the lack of fun continues though as people canât keep their politics out of a sports convo. Crazy that anyone would think a comment like this would further any conversation political or sports. And thatâs the founder of the site!!! I was hoping after the election the crybaby political fanbois would maybe back off and allow a guy to enjoy sports again, but when surrounded by Karenâs on here I feel Lucyâd, keep it Brockmire. âď¸
Iâm fine, but Iâve found life is better without @Texas-Hawk-10 and others in it. Best of luck to all of you, but I donât plan on coming back barring a major change.
@wissox @Crimsonorblue22 @kusteve @jayballer54 @approxinfinity youâre cool. Thanks for the fun over the last few years. @bshark I barely knew you. Thanks for the KU info.
Donât believe everything you read, the number of untested perfectly fine people is much higher than reported. My first hand experience is limited, but I know several of my friends that have it in Florida are ok and nearly out of quarantine. They are the lucky ones; they have antibodies now and should be immune for a year or two.
Lack of sports is killing the illusion that we can all get along when the only thing we have in common is KU basketball. With no other common ground itâs difficult to have a civil discussion about anything of importance. A series of monologues isnât a conversion, itâs just exhausting with nothing gained - little to no entertainment value and most posts are only opinions with little to no factual content to absorb. Until recruiting picks up or actual games are played in front of fans Iâm on hiatus. I get enough of weenies that just want to blame others on tv without actively inviting that level of jack-assery into my life. Do something if youâre that passionate other than bitch.

@dylans That cartoon is funny! I will enjoy seeing his appointment of medical expert Jared added to the cartoon!
And the unproven anti-malaria drugs are also used to treat lupus. Some lupus patients cannot get them now. Yeah, good job.
The blame game is a great diversionary tactic. đ
I get it youâre scared, youâre old and at mild risk. Itâs people with underlying health conditions that are going to be at severe risk. The thing is they shouldâve been culled years ago. Those genes are bad, but we (myself included) lack the intestinal fortitude to tell people not to breed instead we create a population that is weak and is putting us all at risk. Viruses are Godâs/natureâs way of fixing this.

Meanwhile a 19 year old friend of mine is volunteering in Seattle hospitals after the habitat for humanity project he was on got cancelled and all the healthcare professionals in the area quit out of fear. Personal responsibility is the only way out of this. Blaming the government is a great way to bury your head in the sand, divert blame, and do absolutely nothing to help.
Personally Iâve donated money I donât have to others that need it more and hired people I donât need for jobs that donât currently exist.
Most of what I hear is fear turning people into brain dead zombies that are going to face multiple lawsuits when the dust settles and the constitution is upheld.
@mayjay I think youâre supposed to form your own opinion as opposed to having one given to you.
You canât help stupid people from hurting themselves. We probably shouldnât try. It would improve the gene pool.
Another theory (put forth by a doctor that specializes in this) is we are doing everything wrong. Kids should be in school getting exposed and building antibodies to the virus. Then they would be the first line of defense against the viruses future spread. Get enough healthy people exposed and immune to protect those that are susceptible from future exposure.
đ¤ˇââď¸ even the experts canât agree, but everyone is doing what they can and politicizing the issue is disgusting.
@kjayhawks I didnât either, before this month...seemed relevant though. I was curious how it was handled 100 years ago. Turns out about the same. Scary to think we really havenât advanced much on virus warfar in the last century.
@kjayhawks said in 2020-21 Season: Will it happen?:
@drgnslayr itâs a very interesting time. I think stuff will hopefully be back to normal by then. Ether a vaccine or better treatment. I was reading an article the other day that Iâm having trouble finding again that was talking about how crazy it will get if this last into next fall/winter. People will go crazy and more people will die from starvation than this virus at that point. This country survived the Spanish flu and polio which were much much more deadly and they didnât shut down crap.
Actually they shut down everything nation wide for the Spanish flu. Places like St. Louis shut down early so they didnât have a many deaths or a high infection rate. But because not many were dying they opened back up too soon and had a second peak bigger than the first.
@BShark Bill and staff are having to work at it. Theyâve been pretty darn good at identifying under the radar talent. Unfortunately thatâs going to have to continue as the top recruits arenât beating the doors down right now.
