I didn’t realize Whit is 30. Think the Royals will trade him?

2019 Transfer List • Jul 02, 2019 12:35 PM

Found this humorous: Houston was ranked #19 in the ESPN way too early top 25, now after the Grimes signing they are unranked.

(Don’t pop a gasket Qs mom I know it’s not because of him, I just found it ironic)

Glad he’s someone else’s problem.

Naming names • Jun 30, 2019 10:53 PM

@bskeet that was the players punishment. The U could still be found culpable. Hope not, but with the ncaa who knows?

Naming names • Jun 29, 2019 12:34 PM

I can see it going both ways. The KU fan in me sees no sanctions coming. The realist in me thinks something is coming, but nothing too harsh. The pessimist in me sees the death penalty coming.

2019 Transfer List • Jun 28, 2019 03:01 AM

So does anyone know when Qs mom joined the board?

@dylans Still not a reason to be a dick about him.

Only person calling names here had better look in the mirror.

Q didn’t perform and wussed out. How’s that make anyone a dick for pointing out he made zero impact at KU other than being a contributing reason the streak ended and running from adversity? A regular roll model I suppose.

I hated Dedrick’s time at KU as well. Last years team was wretched to watch. I’m glad the cancer has been cut out.

2019 Transfer List • Jun 27, 2019 03:51 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 who? Still doesn’t ring a bell. TJ Whatley’s mustache had a longer lasting impression. I mean what are the odds I remember Grimes in 30 years?!?

2019 Transfer List • Jun 27, 2019 03:34 AM

Who is this Quentin Grimes? I remember no such player.

Culver tells a story.... • Jun 26, 2019 08:19 PM

I didn’t realize KU snags 16% of the top 10 talent...well that’s how some make it seem. Lol

Ochai • Jun 25, 2019 01:36 PM

Mitch knows the Kansas way. Dotson will be the floor general. Garrett will be the vocal leader. Ochai will keep the teams spirit up - great attitude. McCormack can lead by example - great workout ethic.

Forgot Josh Jackson was from California. I though he was a Michigan kid for some reason.

Roy recruited well out of Cali, but wouldn’t recruit east of the Mississippi. Bill pulls recruits from everywhere and seems to like a harder type than you usually see out of California.

Culver tells a story.... • Jun 25, 2019 03:53 AM

So grammatically speaking is it a OAD or an OAD? Inquiring minds want to know...An does not roll off the tongue.

@FarmerJayhawk One of my gf’s and I had a lot of fun discussing various names for Dicks sports goods. Our boys just rolled their šŸ‘€ā€™s. We are grown now.🤣

Ironically Dicks is north of menards here. A regular anatomy lesson.

Fun Week • Jun 24, 2019 12:24 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 tennis ball size hail here. The corn that was 3.5ft tall is now 2ft tall shredded sticks across half the county. Yuck.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Jun 23, 2019 09:37 PM

5 star recruit? Big for a freshman 6’5ā€ 175. That’s a mans body already. Hudy should like that frame.

Ochai • Jun 21, 2019 12:19 PM

I’m really glad most of the non-athletes have left the team. There is one newcomer it would appear though in Wilson (hope I’m wrong). Bill does better the more athletic his team.

One thing that always struck me, is Self said he looks for shooters first and foremost in recruiting. I wonder if that’s why he falls in love with a Garrett type whom he doesn’t have to reach nearly as much as the athlete-shooter who knows not much else?

Quick twitch is helpful, but not required in D1. Proper positioning is more important (hedging). At the pro level, they need everything.

I've come to realize that hedging isn't part of the coaching at Kansas (or at most D1 schools). It's a pity to give up such an advantage.

It is a relatively recent departure from hedging for Kansas, basically in the OAD era. Hopefully it returns.

Boom. Basically they don’t play together long enough to learn how to play good team D. Hedging, switching, lane jumping. All improve with team chemistry.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 20, 2019 05:34 AM

CP3 is stuck. Too much money in that contract for anyone to trade for him, too good to let him walk...unless he really does make James Harden cry about his man boobs. Lol

Ochai • Jun 20, 2019 03:26 AM

@approxinfinity 6’8ā€ with a wing span to match makes up for a little quickness. He’ll get some minutes to season him for next year if nothing else.

Recruiting Strategies.... • Jun 19, 2019 12:22 PM

Bill likes Garrett, it doesn’t matter what we think! Dudes gonna get playing time.

Mitch • Jun 19, 2019 12:21 PM

If a Jr and a Sr can’t get minutes over low ranked freshmen, redshirting will not help. Redshirting would mean they have to compete against more experienced Sophomores the next season, unless there is a mass exodus.

Mitch • Jun 19, 2019 02:51 AM

@BShark Hope he gets a couple.

Mitch • Jun 19, 2019 02:47 AM

I hope McBride is good enough to get minutes this year to season him for next year. It looks pretty bleak without Dotson on the roster.

SUPER IMPORTANT BREAKING NEWS • Jun 19, 2019 01:16 AM

@BShark Self has to point Wilson towards the locker after practice. Lost lol. He’s green, hopefully he gets better once acclimated.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 18, 2019 05:54 PM

@Woodrow Yeah, Woj and Steven A., Jalen Rose, Max Kellerman, every taking head and analysist down to Stugotz has said it. But until Kawhi or his agent say something it’s just the same year old speculation. It’s just heating up, because he’s out of his contract now.

Kawhi, the most boring super star ever.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 18, 2019 01:47 PM

@Woodrow Kawhi has said he likes LA. The speculation since he was traded to Toronto is that it was a one year rental ending with him going to the Clippers. The problem is it’s all speculation, Kawhi doesn’t say anything. That dude is very quiet.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 18, 2019 12:16 PM

The Kawhi merry-go-round begins.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 16, 2019 05:39 PM

@approxinfinity glad I’m not the GM. Ahem Magic. Also glad I’m not a lakers or nba fan.

HUGE NBA TRADE • Jun 16, 2019 03:23 PM

Lakers are the favorites at several sports books before the trade was announced simply based on speculation they’d get Davis. If they get another all star FA to pair with them they’ll be legit, but no bench.

Are we back now? • Jun 15, 2019 04:34 PM

@BShark I agree. OADs are a stop gap or a minor boost. They shouldn’t be the whole show.

Are we back now? • Jun 15, 2019 01:53 PM

@AsadZ I guess Moss doesn’t count since he’s a grad transfer? Multi-year players are the ones that make the biggest difference IMHO. It takes years of playing in the system (and preferably together) to unlock the full potential of the offense.

Wilson to Kansas • Jun 14, 2019 07:06 PM

Self doesn’t like to redshirt freshmen.

Holy cow, a torn achilles and an acl is one way to end a dynasty. I’d hoped someone would actually beat them.

It tickled me when a random man in a bar was asked who he was rooting for. He replied, I don’t like he NBA, but America, go Warriors. šŸ˜†

KU vs. dook • Jun 14, 2019 04:36 AM

Screw Duke! ...That is all.

@BShark Dook?!? Lol yeah right.

Isaiah Moss, a target again! • Jun 12, 2019 12:58 PM

@wissox yes and yes

@FarmerJayhawk Linebacker number. Sic ā€˜em.

No LeBron? No problem. • Jun 11, 2019 12:45 PM

I wonder if Durant’s leg was ever going to heal with rest or if this was inevitable? It looked like an Achilles’ injury from the outset.

Great game last night • Jun 11, 2019 03:49 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Sounds like the DR is a good place to get shot.

Isaiah Moss To Kansas • Jun 11, 2019 03:45 AM

So Moss is the better version of Grimes?

Roster possibilities • Jun 09, 2019 01:49 PM

Ok @FarmerJayhawk you asked for it (my fears not desire): Moss’ highlight video had him going off in a game they failed to reach 20 points by halftime. Garrett is an offensive liability. Dotson is good, but not Frank Mason Sr year good and Frank didn’t win anything. Dok will get hurt by the seasons end. Wilson isn’t here yet; Eunanura isn’t ready for big minutes. McCormack is rough. McBride is too short to get his shot so easily in college. Silvio is rusty as heck!

Michigan St is talented and experienced playing together. Duke has all the young talent. KU is cobbled together at the last minute.

No LeBron? No problem. • Jun 09, 2019 01:41 PM

I’d say we are getting robbed by injuries, but this series is so boring I haven’t watched a game. First finals I’ve completely skipped since before Jordan.

Do we actually have reasonable reasons to believe he will come to KU? Haven't heard anything other than pundits assuming it. Could be after being forced out at Arkansas that he just returns to Iowa.

Would love to add him, but I don't think it's automatic.

Will be Kansas for Moss

@Bshark What happened in the span of two posts?
