Decided last night after the game to Troll the opponents board for Saturday every time I go there it is just crazy how paranoid they are about KU.

Of course last night many , many comments about how KU has the ref's in their pockets and that the ref's have already won 4-5 games for KU this year , and how they really don't think they have much chance winning in the Phog because the ref's will make sure of that. Just on & on & on. - Then they talk about how their guards will give KU so much problems ( which they very ell might TY , Ty & Wheeler ) I'm not denying that couldn't happen. My big concern is Oscar I'm worried he will just have a field him and Grady - Grady hitting those 3's from the outside - -But I'l take my chances with our guys.

A thing I've learned with our team this year they have fortitude think that word applies - - if not sorry , but they just stick with it, I'm finding out that with what has happened this year these guys neve give up. - Maybe it's the experience the age of our guys. - Plus we have that Alpha has emerged Och has turned into the type of player I've been talking about and last night was a perfect example. - -He is like in crunch time is like give me the dam ball and get out of my way - not afraid to and wants to -take THAT SHOT when needed.

One other thing these UK fans have parnoia is - - OMG they so worried about the all time wins. How KU is one game behind , it went from fretting about us catching them and now that it's a possible reality - - NOW they have shifted it's ok if we catch them because they know who still has the better team and who has more Championships lol - their board makes me laugh. - -Anyways we know who we got hope for a solid game I KNOW the phog will be jumpin - - Last little side note - -The Phog was alive last night, every time we made that basket especially when Och hit the tying 3 in OT - -thought they were going to blow the roof off -- love it when it gets like that gives me goose bumps

You know what and there will be guys that say I'm crazy for saying this but that's ok. You know I am beginning to wonder now since we have played them twice and am done with them unless it's in the Big 12 tourney. I'm really beginning to wonder if possibly Texas Tech isn't actually BETTER then Baylor ? - -I just feel Tech's defense is better then Baylor , I'm not as worried - - I'm worried but not as much about playing Baylor now. - -Tech's defense is insane , you have to really work for a shot little lone a good shot , their aggressive play really well. In a way we was lucky Shannon & Mcolloughs was off BUT we had a lot to do with that. - -I dunno maybe I am crazy but Tech is dangerous , well Coached crazy defense. Guess that's why we play them out , just my opinion I am just feeling not so worried about Balor. - -Balor is good - -dam Good and yet I'm just not as worried cause I feel Tech is right there with them and I think they are better defensively that's all

If we toss his ASU history and just judge him on what we’ve seen so far at KU:

He’s extremely confident. Maybe too much at times. He talks a lot and moves his arms/hands when he should be paying more attention to his surroundings.

He dribbles a lot. Doesn’t seem to have great vision. His passes are risky instead of simple a lot of times. And not in stride.

I like his shot. Wish he took more. Confident driving, but not always successful.

Generally doesn’t seem to fit into Self’s system or rigid structure.

Then again he should. Graham and Mason took over games with individual play. Why isn’t Remy allowed to do the same?

Remy DOES seem out of control sometimes BUT the kid is quick a little jet and he has a pretty positive side. - He will drive and attack the rim in a heart beat. Sometimes that's a good thing then other times not so good , some of his passes are wild , and he gets caught up at times with nothing to do with the ball. Yet having said that I'm glad we have him , just knowing sometime he COULD just go off. I don't think we will ever see that that's not what Bill wants him to do I think. Yet he IS another scoring option i wish there are times he would shoot a little more but overall I think yet this year he is going to be fine. He has been fighting that knee injury and think he just now is starting to feel better

I'm feeling pretty darn good myself. It's been a long time coming but I think we finally have ourselves a staff that is gonna get this thing straightend out. Now as I know what happened with Les (the mad Hatter ) and the cause of him no longer here , he DID get things started for us. ONE he hit the high school kids and hit em hard , staying away from Juco's. He started getting better talented kids here maybe not a lot but they were more talented , and for that I'm grateful.

Now Coach has really gotten after it , we seen real progress on the field and give him a year with the team - - give him spring football - -I am excited for fall and the Season. Now I'm not going to just be insane and predict major things this Season , just want to see continued progress if we could win 3-4 games this year - - THAT'S PROGRESS. - -he has done really well in the portal and the other players he is getting I feel can really help. - -we are close to getting our full allotment of players , our redshirt and walkon programs are getting bigger all good things.

Start showing results on the filed and THEN fix that dang ol stadium get on the same kind of level with other Big 12, give recruits something to be proud of. !st class facilities a really good solid Coach and here we come. were done being the doormat of the league be competitive. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It's just hard to score against Tech. - -Solid D - -makes you work , really work to get a decent look

Just curious as to what's going on. Some of the traditional good teams in College Basketball are just - -ehhhh. - -3 teams in particular here tonight . - - Virginia , Louisville & North Carolina off the top of my head. These teams traditionally - - - - -good even pretty good Yet here we are Louisville 11-8- -- Virginia 11-8 both 5-4 in their conference - - - North Carolina not in top 25 - -just not Normal. These clubs usually in the conversation for the tourney and North Carolina & Virginia has made plenty of noise in the tourney. Last year Carolina was not good This year Not that good - just not use to seeing this kind of stuff. I mean NC in the past has been in the top 25 and a lot towards the top 10 - -no so much lately. Virginia - usually pretty decent not that long ago serious threats in the NCAA'S - -these are just three teams that normally do good but recently just ehh. - - there are others. Any idea what's going on ? why this is happening ? - -I mean even in our down years where we are not as good were STILL in the top 25- -can't remember the last time we was down any lower the like possibly 17th maybe if that low

Just read an article and they got ahold of Big 12 Coordinator Sunday Morning - - - Curtis Shaw.

Our performance was a mixed bag.

The positives were huge and shows us clearly that this team can be tough when it wants to be! We showed mental toughness. We never gave up. We never really lost our poise. We stuck to our plan, and eventually it paid off! We also showed some physical toughness. I don't think I've seen a Bill Self team fight this hard on the glass... especially on the offensive glass. We won't lose many games ahead if we keep this aggressiveness. Och... a guy who I've been critical about for not playing hard for 40 minutes... played hard for 40 minutes!

Now... what went wrong in this game? How did we let a team less talented than us almost run us out of the gym? One simple topic... we got SMOKED BY THE "BLOW BY!" I've never seen a Bill Self team get beat this bad off the dribble. I wish someone would watch the game again and count how many times they blew by us. It was so much of their offense (no, I'm not forgetting the treys) and if we had done a better job shutting this down all game, we would have blown the kitties out of the gym! We did a better job in the second half and that allowed us to overcome the monster deficit.

So we leaked horribly on defense for most of the game and made it an almost impossible hurdle towards a win... then we battled like beasts to come back and win!

I tip my hat to this entire team for coming back from such a deficit! And a special tip to Och for staying engaged in this game and stepping up at the end, too!

drgnslayr : I agree a lot with what you said. Here is the thing & I've said this multiple times this season , This isn't something new that has just happened yesterday. we ( KU ) has been getting BEAT time after time after time ALL SEASON off the dribble drive. Their containment - - being able to cut off the one on one drive is pathetic , getting beat constantly. One big thing about this is we have had other years where we have gotten beaten on the dribble drive BUT we had Doke , on the back line for the rim protection and make guys think twice about trying to score and they would end up kicking it back out. THIS YR is totally different , we don't have that dominant rim protector. We had guys that knew they could be more aggressive on the defensive end with Doke - - this yr is not the case. Thus this is one major reason KU is dead last in the conference in team defense. I'm like you I've never seen us get beaten , and beaten bad off the drive. We have some guys with not the quickest foot speed to recover when they get beat.

Now as far as the come back - - - Again like you I agree, these guys yesterday after we got 17 down was like umm - - Screw this , no way is this gonna happen. I've never seen as a team , time after time guys going to the floor for a loose ball, and just destroying another team on the Boards specifically offensive end. I mean JUMPIN GEE HOSSIE TOADS , if the guys would put forth that type of effort every time out - - we would be killer. I don't expect that to be the case and like you said part of the reason very well could of been because of the difference of Talent, and in the end it showed yet against more talented teams we can't get in that kind of position again cause on down the road when it really matters most , if that happens - - were screwed

Another thing I mentioned yesterday in reference to how you mentioned Och , I said I think we found our Alpha , our Dog, a guy that's ready and willing to step up and like give me the ball and get the hell out of my way. That's what I'VE been waiting for , not guys that are timid in game time major situations where we have to have that key bucket , and they pass up shots, even wide open shots. Och is ready to take over a game when need be - -Him especially would NOT allow us to lose this game yesterday , Actually that was a team thing BUT Och stepped up huge and showed his moxy. Guy can be a stud if he gets the right mind set. - -This team to me yesterday late looked really good in effort , aggressivness for sure, just attacking time after time either getting the basket or getting the foul. - -now THAT'S THE TEAM I've been waiting for - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I said earlier tody after the game -that I think this very well might be a turning point for the guys as far as raising us to a different level. - -It just goes to show when our back is truly against the wall, it shows when we get really engaged - -we can be pretty dam good. It was just like there was no way that the guys was going to lose this game - -had to overcome HUGE mountain , team that played over their heads, couldn't miss anything crazy fans - it was nuts - -I think Och just said give me the ball - - I got this.

The 2nd thing to mention is this game could also just Crush K/State to find a way to lose this game after being up by 17 , and their main player having to score 35 points and STIL wasn't enough. - -just trying to calm down lol - -I'm to ol for this lol

I don't think what @nwhawkfan wrote would be reviewable. If they thought it was a non-shooting foul, they can't review that and then change it to a different foul.

I dunno, was listening to Coach on post game and he was talking about and Gurley was talking about how they didn't even look and Coach saying he still wasn't understanding it. - -Yet still we found the way to win against the odds what a great run

We outscored them in the 2nd half -- 44-25 in the 2nd half - - -Out rebounded them 45-23 - - - Dave got 11 points & 15 rebounds - - Jalen 16 & 1o and Och 29 what a game
