They need to just change the rules to you can’t touch anyone at this point. You see so many weak calls for a brush, then someone gets flattened and no whistle. They rule changes the last 5 seasons is destroying game flow.

Obviously goal tend and offensive basket interference. I’d get a T what a bunch of bull sh**

I wouldn’t say the officials are the reason we are down but 2 flatout horrendous calls by professionals definitely hurt. Some games you don’t get the calls gotta play thru it.

Let’s see how long we can’t afford to keep Doke on the bench here. Need some offense from someone.

That was maybe one of these worst no calls on a goal tend I’ve ever seen. They need to start docking pay for calls like that, that are so obvious. These guys need to be let go, if they are making more than minimum wage after a complete screw like that, they are thieves. I think that call got in our heads a bit. Gotta clean it up here.

I’ve had a busy day was only able to watch bits and pieces (listen mostly). Looks like yet again the defense played good enough to win. Sadly this team is only about 5 plays from being bowl eligible. I felt like the refs must have been the same crew as in Manhattan. They didn’t cost us the game but several missed calls that weren’t called against Texas and several weak calls on KU. Maybe having a well known and respected coach next season will help get a few of these. I really like this group of seniors and would like to thank them for their hard work. They definitely should be credited for starting this turnaround that’s coming, they could’ve half assed it after knowing Beaty was out and no bowl was happening. Thank you Guys!! Thank You to Coach Beaty, I believe he did the best to his abilities to turn this place around.

@BShark Self can most definitely be wrong, in fact he is often if you think about it. I honestly disagree that MG played to much tho. Grimes did absolutely nothing tonight, he was burned repeatedly and was flatout lazy for much of the game. That was the story on him coming in, super streaky shot and lack of effort. He played 26 minutes to 28 by MG. Charlie Moore and K.J. are pretty much here just because at this point, I see neither guy ever making an impact here (would’ve rather Sam stayed and Moore left). Moore recorded a steal that was knocked loose by someone else and a rebound in 14 minutes. My question is, who else pays then? I think MG shot the ball a little much but most of his shots were late in the first half with Doke out, Dedric ineffective and not much really coming from anyone else. I was most disappointed in his 2/5 from the line. I thought he played good defense and drove the ball fairly well tonight, just needed to finish a few more. It’s funny how Dedric gets about 25 shots blocked right back in face in a 3 game stretch and it nothing to bat an eye at but MG has struggled shooting it and it is a huge deal. MG needs to improve offensively no question but so do several other players on this team and most of those players can’t guard as well. At this point I’d be shocked to see Grimes go pro after this season. I honestly think Dotson is the better player of the 2.

@Texas-Hawk-10 very true, just disappointing to see a team lack hustle on the defensive side.

I’ve just come to the conclusion this team just doesn’t have it. If Vick doesn’t go nuts we likely have 2 home losses to mid majors. We are probably past due for a down year with 14 straight and 3 straight E8s.

Just flat out lazy on defense, yes they are hot but several had not jayhawk within 5 feet of them. This isn't Middle school guys, teams will hit those all night. This team talent wise is the worse we have had in a very very long time. Both Lawson boys are waste of a scholarship.

Time for a 4 guard line up Bill, this ain't working. Dedric isn't athletic enough to do anything at this level.

It's defiantly an interesting deal, I don't think the troops should be there but I also don't think that just letting people come and go as they please like dems want is smart either. I'm never afraid to admit that, I don't have all the answers or know whats the best thing to do.

Sad realization is that it’s seems our troops have been out on someone’s political agenda since Vietnam. I don’t always agreed with the task they have but will always support our service men and women.

@KUSTEVE I didn't watch but it really dont matter if it was KU there would an uproar regardless. Checking the box score Auburn did shoot more 3s by 7 but they shot more 2s than Dook.

@nwhawkfan Yes, strange 34 free throws from Dook and only 9 from Auburn but no one alive will bat an eye at it. Now if it was KU it would be all over the front page about how officials made errors in the game.

@jayballer73 That would be a solid flip, we have to start getting the best players in our city. Looking how KSU has coaching in the air at this point and KU just landed Les, he may change his mind.

Rivals reports that Les has already been burning up the phone lines recruiting. He just offered Jayden Russel, CB from Overland Park-St. Thomas HS. He is rated 3rd best in state and a 3star. He got good size at 6’1 and looks quick.

@jayballer73 Supposedly season ticket holds are already calling in to renew and several former members of the Williams fund are looking to get back in from what I've seen and heard. Our attendance will be the highest its been since at least 2010 next season.

The problem is with this team is that with how bad the defense is when they are playing a top team (Pats, Rams among others) the offense has zero margin for error most of the time. I think this team does what chiefs teams do, lose to the first good QB they face in the playoffs. People are now saying it will be a rematch in the SB, both teams have to get there first. Rams got beat by the Saints, who IMO are playing the best at this point and the Chiefs have lost to the best 2 teams they have played, they prob have to go thru NE to get anywhere.

@KirkIsMyHinrich Very true, we all know that this team has to learn to play together, especially on defense where communication is definitely lacking to this point.

I could never live in the LA area with the smog and air quality, The LA Coliseum is pretty much junk as well lol.

@justanotherfan I think its there for the taking at this point. KSU seems to be going in the opposite direction of KU and Mizzou hasn't really done a whole heck of a lot recently. Kansas must start getting the talent in Kansas and Missouri.

@bskeet This them is vastly improved from year one and even a year ago. They have lacked the discipline to finish games. The big issue with Beaty outside of not finishing games is, he has not helped the Scholarship numbers in anyway. If we get a few guys that transfer out, the numbers will be less than he started with. He used way to many grey/blue shirts like with Fontana, Wallace and Feder this season. A grey/blue shirt is a transfer that counts against the next years class. He also pushed some talented guys out that weren't playing that have moved on and are doing great. He only has 11 of his original class that had 25 players in it, only one of which is to the NFL.

@jayballer73 ESPN shows that 1022 yards, there maybe question into a few of his runs being passes or runs. I think it has to be a forward pass to be a completion not a rushing attempt

@Texas-Hawk-10 Right and I'm not saying it can't work but I doubt MM had the lack of numbers we currently do when he started.

So is it doable for Miles to sneak in a couple of 4 star guys in 2019 class? We only have 14 slots available if they are okay with keeping Mueller on. I'm a little scared with how he said the Juco level was great kansas to get help quick. I have no doubt that he is light years smarter than Weis or Beaty but that is scary with how that was a big factor in current scholarship numbers. Several former Miles players have came out and spoke very highly of him including Odell Beckham JR and Lenard Fournette. I think that could help in getting on some recruits radars.

Pooka has a chance to be the best RB in kansas history and that's saying a lot. If Miles can improve the offensive line, look out because he could be a Heisman threat in 2020 IMO. I was wondering if anyone knew the freshman rushing record? Pooka currently has 1022 yards in only ten games, he prob would've had over a 100 against Nichols and we would've won. Herbert and Williams both had 25+ yard runs in that game that Pooka prob houses for 6.

This is absolutely laughable by Bowen. He knew the rules just as much as ADIDAS did and broke them. He knew if he got caught, he would lose his amateur status and have to leave college. Why don't I sue GM next time I get a speeding ticket because they make the car capable of going faster than the limit, Lmao what a tool.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree, I just think our non conference is a little tougher going on the road to Boston College, who was ranked a few weeks ago. We do get good home draws in conference of KSU, Baylor and Tech. I just don't think that a bowl game is realistic, I'd be happy to be wrong. I predicting 4 wins but 5 wouldn't shock me.

@justanotherfan Agreed, Pooka needs more carries than the 15 he got Saturday but not 30. He needs about 20 handoffs and about 5 passes per game. Herbert and Williams both should get carries as well.

Offensively there is definitely a strong chance to continue to improve. Rickner really hasn’t done terrible with making this offensive line better as the year goes on. The defense will need over hauling up front forsure but some good players will return in the secondary. The key right off the bat is make sure you sell the guys currently here so our scholarship numbers don’t dip anymore, then as documented he has to fill the remaining 14 spots we have open. I will stress all BS aside, it will take time friends. I’ve seen some people already predicting a 7 win season next year and I just don’t think that quick of a turnaround is going to happen. Our schedule is much better next season than it was this season (second worse non conference SOS of power 5). I’m predicting a 4 win season and that’s a good start IMO. We haven’t won that many games in 9 seasons so it would be hard to be disappointed in it out of the gates (MM won 2, Gill 3, Weis 1 and Beaty 0 in their first seasons here).

@Kcmatt7 I’d be fine with Bowen as a Defensive Backs coach but that’s it. He has sent several defensive back that he has worked with to the NFL. I’d be ok if Bill Miller and Tony Hull stayed as well, other than that I’m not sure I want another person returning.

I hope we don't run a pro style offense because I think the air raid is fun to watch. But we do have a solid stable of RBs and I wont care if we are winning.
