On Monday this is what Self said “We’ve decided that he’s going to suit up for us. So he’ll travel with us,”. “That doesn’t mean you should expect him to get in the game, stuff like that. Because he wouldn’t play ahead of other guys yet.” Obviously I wouldn’t expect him to play a ton but what if Mitch and Doke get in foul trouble against this zone? You ether play 6’4 180 pound Clay Young or 6’7 260 pound Solinski at the post.

Sosinki Thread V2 • Dec 06, 2017 05:24 PM

@JayHawkFanToo that’s from a week ago before he was officially added to the roster, if it’s a blow out I bet he plays.

In reality - -pretty true statement. • Dec 06, 2017 03:33 PM

You know Self got some flack on here about these transfers, some even wondered if he was slipping in the recruiting game (before the big class for next year). But he may end up looking like a genius before the next 2 years are up. Thinking about how good of a team this years gets to go against daily but also thinking about next years guys going against a top 5 team in practice everyday as well. We will be full of new faces a year from now but lots of those faces have not only that practice time but time spent with other D1 schools. Bravo coach Self I see what you did there.

Sosinki Thread V2 • Dec 06, 2017 03:10 PM

So who goes in first tonight, Solinski or Clay? Will Solinski end up stealing minutes from Mitch?

Balls twisted up by dad • Dec 06, 2017 03:08 PM

@dylans he’s boarderline Bat Sh** crazy to be honest

Washington Huskies - Wednesday - 8 pm - ESPN2 • Dec 06, 2017 02:51 PM

Washington is lead bye a former Boeheim assistant and will run the same zone we just faced. They are young and most likely a middle of the pack P12 team. Should be a 20 point win but let’s not over look them. There have already been several upsets this week and more close calls.

Balls twisted up by dad • Dec 06, 2017 02:46 PM

@dylans LaVar has probably just ruined 2 of his sons chances to not only play college ball but get an education. The middle who was at UCLA wasn’t a great player and probably had little chance of going pro but an education would’ve been nice. The youngest Lmelo probably would be rule ineligible because of his shoe deal with BBB. Lonzo isn’t close to the best rookie in the league and the Lakers still suck. Hopefully we can move on from this fool.

In reality - -pretty true statement. • Dec 06, 2017 02:43 PM

The red team would compete with any team in the land IMO. They would be a tournament team no question.

Self's Former Assistants Lately • Dec 06, 2017 01:58 PM

Danny has had some close losses to some not good teams, it’s early forsure but with that big contract he just got. He will have to do better the next few years or he may get the boot.

Possibly not good for Oklahoma • Dec 06, 2017 01:46 PM

@jayballer54 @JayHawkFanToo Im just saying you never know what’s true. These guys could very well be guilty. As for the church of Scientology idk anything about that stuff. I just feel like as of right now and the current culture folks seem to be guilty and must be proven innocent. All I say is if someone accuses you of such should you lose your job and have your life ruined?

Possibly not good for Oklahoma • Dec 06, 2017 07:24 AM

Let’s not jump gun, people are forgetting in all of these rape accusations, innocent til proven guilty. People forget that there have numerous women(not saying all women are making up stories and making excuses for unexceptionable behavior bye males) that have lied in such cases. Saw today that Danny Masterson was fired from Netflix because of unproven accusations and if some of these stories are proven false against these guys there will be a massive law suit vs there employers. I had a friend that was falsely accused of rape and the gal that later admitted she fabricated the story got in no trouble whatsoever. I believe false accusations should receive full penalties of the crime they lied about.

We're grown ups • Dec 06, 2017 07:17 AM

Royal Rumble Buckets style??

Sosinki Thread V2 • Dec 04, 2017 11:14 PM

@BShark looking at what he averaged in community college he very well be better than Mitch. That being said it’s probably gonna take sometime for him to get back into basketball. I’m willing to be he hasn’t been shooting daily before a couple weeks ago for a longtime. I’m happy to have another body regardless. Although I’d say it doesn’t look good for Billy or DeSousa playing this year.

Alley Oops, Dg, Malik and Refs • Dec 04, 2017 10:51 PM

I honestly wouldn’t read too much into Newmans struggles this early. Getting used to playing again will take sometime. I agree he is just pressing a bit to hard at this stage, that being said his numbers ain’t terrible. Averaging 12 ppg, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while shooting 46% from the field, 40% from 3. That’s fairly decent for a off month friends.

Bradley Mcdougald • Dec 04, 2017 04:53 AM

Not sure if anyone watched Sunday night football between Seattle and Philly. But former KU standout safety Bradley McDougald got the start over injuried Cam Chancellor and he did not disappoint. He finished he 12 tackles, 7 solo, one of which was a TFL and 2 pass break ups, one on a big third down. After Armstrong and Wise are in the league wether it be this year or next you could build a playoff or even arguably a SB defense outta former KU players.

Damn it lol I thought I had that one 😀

College Football Playoff • Dec 04, 2017 02:02 AM

@JayHawkFanToo I just think it’s weird that this is the only football that doesn’t have a true playoff outside of community colleges, which is still voted like the bcs. I guess 4 is better than 2.

Chorfs • Dec 04, 2017 01:43 AM

I thought Smith payed pretty well as did the offense with 31 points but the secondary is terrible and Revis isn’t any good at this stage in his career. The defense really needs a complete overhaul.

College Football Playoff • Dec 04, 2017 01:41 AM

@JayHawkFanToo Not sure how DII or DIII does it but NAIA has 10 regular season games and 16 team playoff last I knew. The teams that make the CFP don’t play for a month.

@JayHawkFanToo I like the Ukrainian Rifle

Svi MykSkyliuk

Galloping Garrett! Lol

Nice start • Dec 04, 2017 12:44 AM

Nice to see a coach that shows progress in his third year.

Nice start • Dec 04, 2017 12:40 AM

Yep I believe there are now just 5 schools with undefeated basketball in both men’s and women’s. Brandon making an early case for coach of the year.

@jaybate-1-0 , @BShark we have Svi for three, and Moonlight Graham tho no one uses it. Udunka works lol.

Langford • Dec 03, 2017 11:21 PM

I could be wrong but Diallo got picked, not in the lottery but early second round. Just looking at some mock drafts. Vick is top 20pick on 2 with Svi and DTG going mid second round. Svi is late first round on a few. You would assume Self expects Vick to leave with having Garett already to go with transfer Charlie Moore and Dotson, Grimes. That and recruiting Langford.

Syracuse Orange - Saturday - 4:30 pm - ESPN • Dec 03, 2017 11:11 PM

@drgnslayr I’ve always wondered why we never seem to do shot fakes. I think they are great, watch any of Bob Knights coaching videos and he loves them too.

College Football Playoff • Dec 03, 2017 11:05 PM

I think they got the teams right but agree with @wissox, why not just have a 10 or 16 team playoff. Sucks for UCF who’s undefeated currently, if they beat Auburn in their bowl game it will be obvious they got screwed. You could still do bowls even with a playoff. They’ve added so many bowls they have to take teams with losing records, making a bowl isn’t what it once was. Shoot KU would several more appearances if it was like this even 20 years ago. But it’s all about how much the NCAA can make why else play the final four in a football stadium where 3/4s of the seats suck.

Alley Oops, Dg, Malik and Refs • Dec 03, 2017 05:20 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 @wissox He was tied with DTG with most shot attempts with 17. Dude scored 20 and near had a triple double in a 16 point win against a power five team at a neutral site. I'm good with all the above.

4 fouls in crunch time • Dec 03, 2017 04:47 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 He’s better than Mitch and Clay for sure. I know hindsight’s 20/20 with Billy not playing and that guy leaving but whomever scouted him failed.

The laughable statement • Dec 03, 2017 04:45 AM

@jayballer54 wonder what the UK fools think about beating 3-6 Harvard bye 9. To be honest UK looks like shit and if we shot decent at all we would’ve murdered them. They have one win bye 20 plus against a 130 SOS.

4 fouls in crunch time • Dec 03, 2017 04:35 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I watched him play and told everyone he would be a solid player. I would’ve took him over the transfer that abandoned ship all day.

Frank Mason: NBA Starter • Dec 03, 2017 04:25 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 hopefully he continues to get pt and stick around for a while. A solid back up PG is always important. Maybe when his 3 years are up with the kings he can pair up with a better organization.

Alley Oops, Dg, Malik and Refs • Dec 03, 2017 04:19 AM

@HawkChamp agree to disagree, I think that’s a shot they bait you into and yes a guy needs to hit it from time to time but I like how he drove and kicked it quite a bit.

Alley Oops, Dg, Malik and Refs • Dec 03, 2017 04:02 AM

@wissox I agree about Vick as well, some were claiming he wasn’t aggressive with that shot, but to me it’s better to move the ball to open teammates sometimes because we all know that shot is there 90% of the time vs a zone.

Frank Mason: NBA Starter • Dec 03, 2017 04:00 AM

Another good outing for Frank in a loss to the Bucks this evening, had 13 points and 4 assists in 23 minutes with a +16 for the game. Fox played 21 minutes and filled the stat sheet but was -16. To me they look so much better when Frank is out there.

Alley Oops, Dg, Malik and Refs • Dec 03, 2017 02:46 AM

@wissox I agree, I think Newman is just pressing trying a little too hard with how well Vick, Svi and DTG have played so far this year. I think his shot will get there at some point, one play in particular he missed a open 3 but busted butt to save the board to Vick.

Oklahoma returns the big 12 to the CFP • Dec 03, 2017 02:15 AM

OU dominated TCU in the B12 title game, being ranked third they are a shoe-in for their and the conferences 2nd playoff berth in the 4 year history of CFP. I honestly was worried that adding the title game would hurt us. OU has really owned the league the last 2 years with 17-1 record with blowing a 2 touchdown second half lead to ISU as their only loss. Mayfield probably wins them another Heisman Trophy. Hopefully they can prove the B12 belongs this time with at least one win.

Langford • Dec 03, 2017 02:01 AM

Doke will go in the lottery if goes just based off of size alone. Bam for UK was very similar last year and no made it.

DeSousa • Dec 03, 2017 01:59 AM

Today was a big day for De Sousa and Solinski. If De Sousa passes the test and can play later this month, Solinski probably won’t be needed.

Clay Young = 3rd Post Man • Dec 03, 2017 01:49 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I agree, I love when players show emotion, especially when it’s positive. DTG is having the time of his life out there why not smile or throw up 3 fingers. Don’t get me wrong I think you can cross the line but he’s far from that IMO. Dick would never say such to a Duke player.

Clay Young = 3rd Post Man • Dec 03, 2017 01:12 AM

For the 2nd game of 7 Clay out played Mitch IMO. The big first half run started with Clay in and he actually did better guarding Chukwu than Mitch. I wonder what the chances are of De Sousa and or Solinski being better than him?

SILVIO DESOUSA • Dec 02, 2017 04:46 PM

@JayHawkFanToo link is good, thanks

Syracuse Orange - Saturday - 4:30 pm - ESPN • Dec 02, 2017 03:31 AM

Just saw on ESPN Syracuse will have only 8 scholarship players Saturday as guard Geno Thorpe leaves the program after averaging 6 points in 14 minutes in 6 games this season. So in other words having a short bench won’t be an excuse tomorrow.

Syracuse Orange - Saturday - 4:30 pm - ESPN • Dec 02, 2017 03:12 AM

Cuse has kinda had our number in a way, they own a slim 3-2 advantage all time. But they’ve won big games, obviously the 03 title game to go with 08 CBE championship in KC and in 96 when they knocked us outta the dance in one of the first KU games I remember watching. I honestly don’t remember the last time we beat them, I was thinking we did once with Roy. Never liked Jim, always thought he seemed like a snake and the issues that he had with his assistant (that’s as far as I’ll go on that) is sickening. Anyway let’s just kick their asses tomorrow.

KU vb • Dec 02, 2017 03:01 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 yes, it’s hard to not blame coach RB. This recent up tick was nice and people are giving the newer assistants a lot of credit. But where do we go from here? Anyone that played big minutes from the FF and B12 title teams is gone. I’ll tell you this if Ray can’t get it going in the new building and we dip back down to a average program again. He should be fired. Sad all the hype our fall sports got and the way it ended.

De-Commit /Re- Commits • Dec 02, 2017 02:54 AM

If all else fails we could redshirt him, still interesting to me that we never saw Starks outside of 2 plays vs SEMO. The coaching staff claimed he didn’t know the play book tho he’d been here longer than Bender and we had a new OC so everyone had new plays to learn. I’d bet he transfers as bad as quarterback play was at times last year and never get in, plus adding this kid. I feel like Bender would be respectable if we had an oline.

KU vb • Dec 02, 2017 02:37 AM

I called it 20 days ago, wish I was wrong but still proud this senior class had some great moments.

Some early season stats • Dec 02, 2017 02:11 AM

@jayballer54 about that....

Some early season stats • Dec 01, 2017 08:31 PM

Just thought I’d let everyone know I haven’t missed a shot all year. 😂
