@DanR They stop doing foul counts when the bonus+ is reached. In every game, not due to media bias. Sigh...
Leaving him in to get 4 fouls on John in the 1st half.. "That's a bold move, Cotton."
@tulsajhwk I had to unblock kuball... to find out what you were responding to. We are definitely not saying block you!
@tulsajhwk I thought he did, as if by wishful thinking....oh wait, it was the magic "block" command!!!

How about a triple overtime game for UNC and Dook. I hope UNC wins because I am tired of hearing about the Rat, and his self promotion tour.
History against us on that one. When Wilt and KU lost in 3OT in 1957, UNC had won their semi game in 3OT already. Would hate for them to have a huge inspiration!

Settle down Christian.
I think he was expecting a travel call after that shuffle.
@wissox I hadn't heard they were doing that. TBS has always been the only channel listed. Maybe radio.
@drgnslayr said in Chip and Pace...:
But right after this it said Nova has a 51% chance of winning.
That is based on ESPNs own BPI analytic that absolutely no one else pays attention to. How could it be calculated when they have not previously played without their second leading scorer and best defender? All their calcs are based on Nova playing with him. No one could possibly figure out the math of a difference like him missing.
Felonious misuse of math!
Don't know what you're reading!
@jayballer67 Let's see, you think it is more of a ray of sunshine to cry all the time about how mean the whole sports media juggernaut is to poor little KU?
"...Crying's not for me! Oh, I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining!"
@drgnslayr Agreed! But who would ever consent to it?
@Jethro Now that is a delicious possibility I has not considered!
I have read many articles about Kansas this week. Not sure how you have missed them. CBS Sports, The Athletic, NYT, AND ESPN have all had features.
For those of you determined to feel underrespected and unappreciated, The Athletic's panel of 11 alleged "experts" had most picking KU against Villanova (8 of 11), all 11 picking Duke over UNC, and KU tied with Duke (5-5) for the Championship (1 person picked Villanova).
We are so hated! Boo hoo hoo!!!
Federal jurisdiction can be easily grounded in the Commerce Clause providing congressional authority over interstate commerce. Love to see the NCAA try to argue it is not a business!
@Jethro Remember, running with them was not actually Brown's pre-game plan. He just let them continue after it started that way because we were shooting so well (83% or something). At halftime he wisely slowed it down because he knew nobody could keep that up.

There is one more that is up in the air.
OMG, don't tell me Coleman-Lands and Lightfoot have found yet more loopholes to stay eligible for another year!
I'd love to know how much the book advance would be for anyone who could actually prove there are monsters in the closet, and boogeymen under the bed.
Bothers me not one whit. It is a huge story.
@wissox How many times did you stop the tape while watching to see if you could find your seats way up in the attic?
Great write-up!
@BShark You obviously do not understand the power of the Teahan connection. The brothers from Rockhurst have led the Jayhawks to 2 Final 4s each!
@benshawks08 F4, I think.
@BShark Luke Hancock of vacated Louisville (2013) was only bench MOP in F4.
I am sure there has. I don't suppose my opinion settles it, though....

1st half MVP: KJ Adams -- momentum changing defensive stop at the end of the first half. helluva effort by KJ
2nd half MVP: Big Dave -- showed some nuts and anger. love it. keep it up!
And about that POS comment? Actually, maybe he read it right before that play!
🙃
@wissox You need to teach them better on that chant!
Too many passes are just far enough off that the D gets there before our guy can get set to shoot. Has happened a lot this year when Harris gets sped up.
@Jethro You underestimate Charlie Moore. All-ACC defensive team, and Honorable Mention All-ACC. 9 assists on Friday to 3 TOs, and actually (at 5' 11") averaging more rebounds (2.7) than TOs (2.1) this season. Everyone other than our disdainful fanbase takes him a lot more seriously.
@jayballer67 Miami turned it over 4 times, 3 times, and 14 times in their 3 games.

Not sure, but were KU fans cheering Baylor in Ft Worth?
@tis4tim Absurd.
Things are setting up well for my dream final: KU vs Duke, and Self ascends to the top over the outgoing king and all pretenders to the throne.
Refs had nothing to do with TT falling apart on about 5 straight possessions when they gave up the lead. A couple turnovers, guys going 3 ptr crazy. Then they tightened up again, but that was what killed them.
Love this fan base--when lots of calls are made against Texas or TT when we play them, we say it is because their hard defense strategy includes lots of hacking while we go inside. When they play other teams, it is always some anti-whoever-we-want-to-win strategy.
@wissox Don't believe I have seen hardly any handcheck fouls called in the tourney.
I am conflicted rooting against Arizona since I still despise Sampson.
Announcers alway talk about what a trailing team has to do. These are some of the best in the business.
@jayballer67 What name will you be using as Pope? 🙃
Had some fun last week running into a Google search about "ph" and its proper pronunciation. Included the age-old ironic query, Why is "phonetic" pronounced with an F sound?
I've found some other things to be nervous about this week, so it isn't so bad for me this time! Joining a men's golf league (never been in one before--is my game up to par?), cruise refunds (a few grand still hasn't arrived since October), big surprise birthday party for my better half (in the works for @30 people since Jan, and no one has spilled thebeans yet, 🤞),..... Haven't had time for the bad "What if"s!
Voting for these things almost always is completed before any playoffs. Otherwise, some players get lots more national exposure during the voting period.
@jayballer67 Great reply. If you are so sure, it should not be hard to identify just one thing. One.
@BShark Harris is good at getting the offense going, while Remy is good at jump-starting it if we sputter. Cannot afford any more Och no-shows in the first few mins.
@jayballer67 Please show me any actual evidence of anyone on the KU staff handling money or arranging adidas payments.
Go ahead...look everywhere. I will wait.
Anyway I was only pointing out first, a show cause does not require termination, and second, how the NCSt case was not similar to ours. If we get hit for something else (like doing something stupid a la L Brown not cooperating in the investigations for both his KU and UCLA violations) that would be a different story.
Can't stand it. Off to bed to just have normal nightmares!
Between Coke, AT&T, Progressive, and the goddam GM crab commercials, I will likely go into a marketing coma before F4....
Like watching an intramural team that never practiced.

TCU going through a dry spell too
No, they have forgotten how to dribble, pass, shoot and defend. Never saw a more undisciplined B12 team than the last 4 TCU minutes!
Most of the commenters on the boards way back when had little use for Charlie Moore when he was here, but I liked his spunk and have been following his career. Now going back to his hometown of Chicago as a hero for Miami, playing in the Sweet 16. Great kid, great story!
Sorry, @wissox. 😒
ISU 2 on 1 break, and...zip
@Texas-Hawk-10 To wit:
"The primary Level I violation centered on a $40,000 payment that was accepted and delivered to Smith’s family from Adidas through Early to secure Smith’s commitment to the University.
"Other Level I violations included knowing involvement in allowing additional complimentary admissions eligibility as well as Gottfried’s failure to oversee the actions of Early, and Early’s failure to cooperate with the investigation."
Early was assistant head coach.
