@Texas-Hawk-10 Again, NCState employees were actively involved.
Show cause does not mean he cannot work at KU or anywhere. Just means school has to demonstrate how they will ensure compliance with any restrictions imposed, and, if new violations are committed, the school would get blasted even if they didn't know.
That said, almost all coaches do lose their jobs because the restrictions are very limiting, and because the penalties for new violations are so draconian.
Looking at instances of coaches getting show causes, I still don't see the types of violations in KU's case that would warrant one.
It still comes down to whether KU can be required to supervise employees of Adidas due to imputed agency arising out of alleged status as a booster. Two levels of imputed status, all arising out of relationships ubiquitous in college athletics. All other cases involve actual conduct by school employees; KU's is the only one where no money flowed through a school employee or with the employee's knowledge.
Things should improve with a low profile coach known for professionalism and competence rather than personality (Hugs), anger (Martin), or crazy-ass shit (Squeaky).
I am looking forward to a fresher horizon with Tang, especially because I think his goal will be to duplicate what his mentor did: resurrect a program. He is a B12 veteran, and won't just see if he can lead the student body in profane cheering.
If I turn out to be wrong about him, well, it has happened before!
Hey, will we put a banner up if we win the next game? KSU would have put it up for getting within 100 of the top...

I know I'm kind of rubbing it in, but it's like I can't help myself:
Looks like their title page needs updating:
Rupp Rafters - Basketball Forum
The place to be for discussion of the nation's all-time winningest basketball program and eight-time national champions.
Jerome Tang, Baylor assistant
@jayballer67 I have nought to say!
Except Baylor seems to not have awakened this morning on Day 3...
Need a Day Three thread
@Gorilla72 I used Covid as an excuse for 35 years. Just didn't know there would eventually be a name for all those weird symptoms and the odd progression I described to professors and bosses.
Check that: not in in 2009-10 with 9 losses.

@mayjay they got rooked out of tournament bids for a decade. They have a right. Its one thing to not get a 1 seed, its another to not get a bid.
Don't really see lots of years they deserved to be in that they weren't. Ranked in final AP poll a grand total of 3, count 'em: 3, times, and were in tourney each time, as well as every time they had single-digit losses.

What advice for UK players?
"SUCK IT UP!"
@approxinfinity Like the Hokies, but good golly their fans are a whiny bunch. Almost as bad as Auburn's in griping about getting no respect.
@DanR Saves on travel costs back home.
@rockchalkwyo I think voting is done bf the tourney
Zips up 16 to 10.
@jayballer67 Played them in Dec 2020
no
So our Jayhawks play Blue Jays next round if we advance? Feather will fly!
@tis4tim Extra TO in OT.
Last night and today...is anything better than this tournament, year after year?
Reminds me of Archie Marshall
ACL or patellar
Half an hour after this is over, I think.
Another guy trying to be a hero...why not pass?

Kind of rooting for Creighton to win just because it would make the Hawkeyes loss even sweeter.
How so?
Lest we forget our own Richmond history:
Lost to them at home in January 2004, when we were ranked #10.
Avenged it as a 1 seed in tourney in Sweet 16 in 2011. Then we proceeded to lose to VCU in E8.
So not a school (or city!) we have a history of dominating!

I would think Zach could throw them for a loop with his trey shot!
Hate to be a downer, so let's just call it being a realist. Zach only had six 3ptrs. That was in 19 attempts --which is how many fouls he had, too. Only made 1 (Feb 12) since the Dayton game.
If he hits an important 3, I will be among the greatly surprised!
People thinking it was a walk over Mich suffered from premature exultation...
Check that: apparently the March Madness app has no idea how to know which Sling version you use. Orange gives you local channels, so it is letting me see the CBS game. Must use a national feed.
So, thanks to all, esp @Crinsonorblue22, for the advice to load it!
Yet another obstacle to viewing the tourney: Cannot see the local CBS feed because Savannah has a huge St Pat parade for the first hour. Sling Blue does not carry locals.
Damned Commies!
So thrilled to have TruTV...
When did Rex Chapman decide to channel Scott van Pelt?
This guy is one of 3 AJ Lawsons in basketball. He is playing in his 5th season after N Texas and McNeese State.
The famous AJ Lawson starred for S Carolina and is now in G League.
KU had Dedrick Lawson and KJ Lawson. Their talented brother was named Jonathan.
@jessejayhawk Holy Crap!

That's a rafter spot then, yes?
Used to be for "consensus AA" which I think was something like 3 or 4 nat'l organization teams. But Self made a comment at one point about B12 POY, too.
@Crimsonorblue22 The app is free but still requires signing into a TV provider that has TBS/TNT/TruTV/CBS to get any games. Just video highlights, articles, a bracket contest, and schedule. There are no live tv or watch options, and the login is under the Settings tab.
From CNET: "You can also stream the games live at with NCAA March Madness Live, but you'll need to log in with a TV provider to prove you are a pay-TV subscriber."
I'm good. Signed up for Sling Blue. $35/month, and will cancel April 14. That gives me the Turner channels, and Fubo gives me CBS.

I’ve had great success with the ncaa March madness live app. Simple and easy to use.
Thanks, but it looks like you can't get live games without signing in with a tv provider that carries Turner channels.
I have Fubo, which dumped Turner channels awhile back. I will subscribe to Sling Blue for a few weeks to get them. (We have Fubo because it has NFL Redzone on its sports add-on: buy in Sept, cancel in Jan.)
Thank you!
No access to truTV!
@bskeet Good insight. Just happened with Duke!
On second thought, since mugging Dave is the universal defense against him, perhaps a feed inside so he can get to the foul line...
Remy!
Ah, the "Committee Hates KU" paranoia thread!
That said, it is presented well.
Ever read "Chariots of the Gods?"
He probably just won't have his usual quickness or sky as much, but his inner drive is probably increased. As if that is possible!
I think y'all need to look a little harder at that NOA...
Frank Haith fired today. So, basically 2 Fizzou coaches and Squeaky fired this week. And HCBS keep pluggin' along (despite, of course, accusations of not knowing what he is doing in using a roster).
I am quite the opposite! I enjoy the season regardless of the tournament. Watching 35 or so (well, 27 or so, thanks for nothing, ESPN+) games gives me lots of exposure to these guys who work so hard. Different personalities, different ambitions, different talent, but they all rep KU so well. Fun to see the crowd get excited for the walk-ons or Mitch's 6th year breakthrough, fun to see would-be pros making Och's huge strides.
I might be disappointed in a tournament result, but there's no way it represents an entire season.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Great rundown!
But, really, do you and @BeddieKU23 ever sleep?
Can anyone read lips?
@drgnslayr We should always want to win. Every time we can. That doesn't mean we can't find silver linings in a loss, but those are never better than a win.
