@Kcmatt7 Well, one thing is certain: Once he is replaced, the new coach will not be having a mock funeral to "free" players from being distracted by how good it used to be.
I mean, how silly would a fake tombstone with "Squeaky, R.I.P." look?

"Play hardly" chart.
@BeddieKU23 Thanks! The numbers really look like everyone goes down without as much prep...except Izzo. Maybe he prepares for the Sat/Sun games during the week rather than Thurs/Fri games?
I would like to see comparative numbers from other coaches with at least 15 tourney appearances and, say, at least 5 Regional finals.
Wouldn't it be just like them to announce post-season sanctions barring KU from the tournament this year due to Silvio's guardian's money hunger, right after Silvio and Chattanooga get their ticket?

Worth pulling up a chair for this ending IMO
I see what you did there....
@approxinfinity LOL! I wonder how many people actually moved to other countries after the 2016 and 2020 elections?

Not bad for a POS!
I think Dave is likely not playing bb after this year, unless he has really successful surgery, and even then he might not want to limp for the rest of his life. Cannot see him being mobile in time to play in the fall.
@tundrahok Thank you for that one!
@Bosthawk Lucky! Still waiting to bring my wife to AFH. Last game for me was 1978!
Dave had a hurt foot for awhile, but a few games ago it was reported his knee is tweaked, too. It has clearly affected his jumping in all three phases--opening tip, FGs, and rebs.
The FT percentage is a tribute to his hard work and concentration. Without him picking up fouls, we lose. Instead, we have people using what he does right to justify calling him a POS.
What a fuckfest of unappreciative fans.

ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Am I wrong, or has this been missing for awhile? Maybe THAT is what this team needs--FANS CHEERING THEIR ASSES OFF!!!
Instead of looking at the game through opera glasses, holding their Packer Plastics 16 oz cups like tea cups with their pinkies out, and saying, "Tsk, tsk...My my, I DO find fault here. Shall we adjourn to the parlor?"
So Remy (1 for 2 in 12 minutes, 1 turnover) is responsible for our stars' piss-poor shooting (OA and CB 8 for 28) and the team getting outrebounded badly? I bet he would be amazed at his monster influence on everybody.
Reading the obituaries for our team, and the bizarre psychological assessments that wandered all the way to HCBS losing the team, I guess we should just stop watching and give up. Maybe next year should be better.
@drgnslayr I don't get psyched to go to the dentist but I admit I always leave blood there!
Big guards are a problem.
Actually, the game looked a bit like ours at first. Texas didn’t have such a huge lead, but played pretty evenly until just a few minutes left. Then UT missed some shots, had awkward turnovers, and Baylor cashed in.
Early in the game I thought Texas did a better job than we did of staying in front of B's guards on defense. When B was missing we did great, but once their shots started falling we did not adjust well and failed to keep their speed in check.
@RockChalkinTexas 2 on Mitch, 1 on Remy, 1 on Yes
According to Sports-reference.com, We are 35-7 against Baylor since 1949-50.
Extra tidbit of (traumatic) trivia from that source: Since 1949-50, KU has played 68 schools only once, and KU is 63-5 against those. The five include Bucknell, N Iowa, and VCU.

ESPN just ran a banner that said Baylor is 35-8 against us. In men's basketball.
My memory must not be great. Feel like I’d remember 35 losses to Baylor!!
You missed the first 9 games this season? Whaddya got, dementia?

If you like that, the ESPN website previewing the game says: "The teams square off for the 10th time this season in Big 12 play."
@Jethro Yeah, we should support Russia instead and keep our economy strong!

I believe the media is going to make this a bigger deal then it is.
So what would be a big deal? About as big as sideline behavior gets, I'd say.
Michigan absolutely in the wrong. "Wah wah they called a timeout and hurt my precious feelings, Coach." "Oh yeah? Well, I will make an utter ass out of myself in tribute to Coach K. The old handshake line fool fest!"
The idea would be adopted by unscrupulous coaches. In fact, maybe aleady has been. Grayson Allen became an unredeemable vicious pit bull somehow.
SC has something similar getting proposed, sounds like. Goal is to eliminate freedom of thought and indoctrinate good little children.
Thoughts, @wissox ?
GB should trade for him and use the draft picks they get to make a swap for Shane off KC (also get Wentz to start with). KC then uses extra picks to rebuild DL and D backfield, letting FC, DS, and TM go.
Dave with the highest PER in conference play, and I would bet the most negative comments on this board. At least there are more positives than before, but if CB or OA blow a pass they might get a couple nasties about the pass itself. Dave gets negative comments after his bad play that are generizations about him as a player.

@BeddieKU23 Excellent work! Now you need to find more ways to fill up that extra time on your hands...
@RockChalkinTexas Oh, my!
Fran usually talks about something he said earlier. Tonight we get that PLUS what he thought 4 whole years ago.
@jayballer67 Those holds were pretty severe, tho.
I want the half-time show to be on in the background if the doctors ever need to pull the plug on me. If I then go to Hell, perhaps it won't seem so bad.
In a not-unrelated note, my friend has decided to sign me up for a Geico "how not to talk like your parents" commercial.
@benshawks08 I found a great one:
@benshawks08 Craps odds are easy to find. Use Google and search for "craps payout charts." Compare the payouts to what you find for "craps dice odds" and then you can see how various payouts set by casinos are good or bad. Or horrible on many cruise ships....
@BeddieKU23 I think it is too fragmented across network and cable and streaming channels. Too freaking hard to plan a schedule to watch, especially when you try to find just a simple grid of events and their finals. The time difference screws everything up. Having events begin before the opening ceremonies didn’t help!
@Crimsonorblue22 Interesting that the game started with Doke being outclassed by Mitchell Robinson. That was the guy who left WKY in the summer of 2017 after enrolling early and who visited KU in August before returning to WKY (and later sat out a year to train for the draft; first guy to do that). We had a lengthy discussion about whether he would have to sit out a year at KU due to his WKY summer school classes of something like 2 weeks.
He would have been competing with Doke at KU. I always wondered if that was why he didn't come or if it was just the eligibility issue. Sounds like he has done well (except for, well, getting stuck on the Knicks).
@Jethro I always wonder if the website content changes in different parts of the country.
@Kcmatt7 On further review, our analysts discovered that improper grammar, syntax and punctuation in the other post were overlooked due to heavy use of alcohol by the initial rater ("Personally you..."). Accordingly, SNARK has now placed your comment at the top of the heap, and great praise is due you!
@Jethro Go to the user profile, and click on the 3 dots. Actually "Block user". Blocks the user from DM-ing you and keeps their posts from showing up. Does not stop you from seeing posts quoted by others.
Very nice stress saver. You can undo it, too, and read the blocked stuff later if you are feeling masochistic.
@Kcmatt7 Under the SNARK system, that comment was actually highly rated, losing points only at the end for acknowledging it was opinion instead of insisting on it being a fact (often forgotten: SNARK algorithm gives more for spelling out F A C T). Your comment scored lower but still in the top ten.
