My only contribution today: maybe the refs misunderstood the rule. Two possibilities--they thought it is based on where the shooter came down, or they based it on where the guy committing the foul was standing. Otherwise, got nuthin' here.

@rockchalkjayhawk Can easily imagine anyone in a rage picking up a vacuum and throwing it down, gf calls the cops, that is the charge to establish control and get him out of there. No way of knowing who is at fault for the confrontation, etc, but thank god it is only an appliance and not Kareem Hunt's situation.

@Crimsonorblue22 Well, from that article it appears that this bizarre format allows almost anything. I would guess they are working on a settlement and trying to ensure it can get worked out before a decision is issued. Unless it is something like going to an independent arbitrator, but I can't see why anyone would want that.

The Athletic has been rumored to be possibly bought out for some time. I received an email today that it happened. Bought by The New York Times Company.
Huge relief because the rumors had it going to the peole who own Bleacher Report or to Barstool (gag). NYT may have made some big snafus, but they are definitely a well-funded org that will likely be able to keep all the great The Athletic's reporters.

@wissox @Kcmatt7 I used to walk when I played, but this course is in a development and has long long distances between holes. We do our walking on the streets and bike paths, and see all types of wildlife--gators, herons, egrets, bald eagles, geckos, billions of bluebirds and other birds, etc. Fun to hit an approach shot with a gator 30 feet behind you on the bank!
I liked walking whenever I played a new course because I was able to get a look at everything, especially (ahem) the woods and creeks, etc. But at 65 with the heat here 8 to 10 months of the year, I'm not able to carry all the junk I can carry in my cart (2 waters, sand bottle, lots of tees and balls, towels, and extra gloves). Cart is built into the member fee, but I always use our own. (Bonus: won $35 as 2nd prize in this year's Christmas Cart Parade! We will break even by 2350 or so if we can snag a few firsts!)

Pretty sure I ran about 3 miles last year,
some in airports and parking lots in the rain... . Walked hundreds. Golf carted hundreds more. All good for stress relief (golf substitutes deeper life stresses with short-term success/failure stress that is easy to set aside).

Stupid penalties again cost KC a game. Gave Cincy 6 first downs. And that holding call by unknown ST player #39 at end of 1st half called back a kickoff return TD by Pringle.
Wasted an heroic effort by the double-decimated (down 20%) OL. Just hope Brown and Niaang aren't out for good. Otherwise I am having way too much end of season deja vu from last year.
