Hey, Christian getting some big time run against the Warriors in prime time! Love it.
And he’s looked great! Got to guard Wiggs, Steph and Poole. Can you imagine?
Made some good steals, rebounds, rim buckets.
Of course, if you are watching, there is ZERO chance to score on the second unit with this freaking black hole Bones Hyland. Jesus. There are four other guys who have nothing to do on offense. They just sit back and watch him dribble around until he shoots. Nuts.
Go Braun!
@dylans said in Odell Beckham Jr. to Chiefs -- yay or nay?:
OBJ would be nice if he can perform anywhere close to how he did last post season. A trade for Brian Burns (DE) would be fantastic as well.
If you had to choose an addition to defense or offense, which one would you take?
Former Thunder big man Nick Collison, who worked last season as a special assistant to GM Sam Presti, will be in a new role this year, having earned the title of amateur evaluation scout, according to Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman.
Apparently the Chiefs are in the running to sign OBJ.
Waddya all think?
Not sure how how much of a difference maker he'll be coming off a torn ACL. But if he's healthy and running strong, sure, why not.
@AsadZ said in Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch:
@Kcmatt7 I'd like for them to look at DE and WR.
Robert Quinn, Robert Quinn, Robert Quinn!
@BeddieKU23 said in Late Night:
I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the agreed upon early penalties that cannot be talked about since the case is still ongoing. They have always had visitors even if it was just a few.
Imagine not showing recruits your national championship banner etc and not having those same recruits see Shaq DJ the entertainment. Call me Flippin crazy because it doesn't make sense
Nope. makes no sense.
@Kcmatt7 said in Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch:
I'm honestly just writing off the game as no big deal and not reading much into it. It was a good game either team could have won. Buffalo has a better roster (especially on D) and so it isn't shocking to see this outcome.
I do think if the Chiefs don't look to upgrade the roster at the trade deadline they are fools though. They have 13 picks in 23 and there are a half dozen teams already out of it 6 weeks in. Find a couple of bargains for late round picks and upgrade the roster.
Same here. good game, with two of the premier teams. Onward. Still wanted to win though!
Me? I just want a bowl eligible KU football team! The rest is gravy. one more win! Two would help...please.
OK, i admit i'm a bit suspicious by nature, but this has me really wondering if there's something going on behind the scenes.
Some kind of punishment? self imposed or not.
Not having official visitors on a huge recruiting night just doesn't feel right.
Talk me off the ledge! :)
Late Night's lack of official visitors by design, Kansas coach Bill Self says
“The reason why we didn’t have (official visitors) here is because we’ve just basically got our guys committed,” Self said Friday. “We made a conscious effort this year to bring in the ones that we really wanted early and not wait for this because there’s no guarantee they’ll last.”
@AsadZ said in Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch:
To me Bills are more talented on both sides.
We are still not able to generate much pressure on QBs, look at what Von Miller did the entire game.
Run game has disappeared, CEH was a non-factor.
Not fair to blame rookie CBs.
Skill position rankings advantage in my opinion
QB: close, but edge to Chiefs
RB: should be Chiefs, didn’t show it, or give it a chance
WR: Bills by far
TE: Chiefs by far
General defensive advantage
Bills
So, hard for me to say the Bills are more talented on both sides of the ball. One side for sure!
Mahomes. Jeez. Cmon.
You’re a vet now. Make smart decisions.
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in Andrew Freakin Wiggins:
It's not that I disagree with you, but he has a player option, so it's Draymond's choice.
You're right. Draymond can pick up his player option.
I still think he won't be around next season, one way or the other.
Guessing retirement and his podcast will eat up his time.
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in Andrew Freakin Wiggins:
It'll be interesting to see what happens there. Green has a 27 million dollar play option after this season, so he could be with the Warriors for 2 more seasons. I would guess he'll take the player option because it's unlikely another team will offer him more than 27 million.
My guess is that Draymond's time with Golden State has run its course. He's old, his game dropped off considerably last season, and he's a pain in the arse. IMO one of the most overrated players in the league. Recall his stats/play when all Golden State's good players were hurt a few years back? Garbage. But, i'm not a player, so what do i know.
Looks like they're signing Wiggs and Poole to extentions.
Somebody's gotta go, so Draymond about to be on his way out the door.
Well, the defense is giving up some points for sure.
Seems like two significant turning points were both Bean interceptions, and the batted down screen. Unfortunate.
He sure makes other very nice throws though.
I kept saying all we need is a defensive stop and we're in this game, but then the first INT...
Oh well. Not a horrendous road result while missing your star QB.
Ok, I never noticed this before, so dumb question…
Why do our uniforms only say JAYHAWK.
Where’s the S?
Warriors announcers called him BRAWN all night.
Funny. But he got some minutes at least.
KJ will be our energizer bunny! (although that doesn't sound too manly)
Was looking to see if Dok made the Jazz. Sounds like he' still recovering from injury.
Fun story with a great Mic'd up link. They make it sound like he may not have a roster spot. bummer.
how was Shaq?
Crapa. nada on ESPN+.

So ends the class of 2023
that's it? three dudes? At least four leaving, maybe.
Excellent!!!!
I gotta catch up on my 2023 recruiting.
Seems like both Elmarko and Johnson are great players from the little i've seen.
This will be a very entertaining year for our bigs. I honestly couldn't predict who will start, if any.
I wonder at the big spot if Self will just use KJ, Zach, Udeh and Zuby any given day and say go bat shit crazy until you foul out. fouls to give. be aggressive!
Cool. I read Self’s comments.
I’m sure happy he thinks Wilson and Dajuan are looking like our best players. An improved Dajuan helps a lot.
But after Wilson, I pray we have another guy who looks like our best player. Gradey or MJ or Zach or somebody else needs to step up to the big boy table for us to have another great season.
scoring and shooting could be an issue early on with the new guys.
Och is getting a tiny bit of run. 6 and 9 minutes in two games.
IMO he's going to need time to adapt to the pro game, despite him being older. Always thought that with him.
Utah likely trying to let him grow comfortable with the speed of the game, which i'm guessing is where he'll have issues.
Dang, the women lost again today.
The announcers seem to be blaming the week leading up to the two games — the stresses of the women's soccer scandal.
Seems like it’s more than that.

Didn't include him since he released a Top 2 without KU in it recently
KU is also officially out of the Bronny James sweepstakes, not that KU was going to sign him anyways, with Bronny signing an NIL deal with Nike.
Was just going to post. This is the new way Nike is going to pay players to end up at their schools.
That clearly is a booster situation, right? Thought that was still frowned upon.
@mayjay Hmm, good question. Don't know any sites like that off the top of my head, but maybe something's out there.
With so much player movement in the NBA, i wanted an easy place to remind myself who's where! So, a list of former Jayhawks in the NBA (some who left for other schools). Please add any i missed!

SG Quentin Grimes -- New York Knicks
SG Kelly Oubre Jr -- Charlotte Hornets

Just to get my mind off the KU loss today...
Speaking of losses, the USWNT lost yesterday for the first time in a long time. England, a top 5 team, took em down. 2-1. England looked pretty good, as i've been thinking for awhile now.
One main theme continues when i watch women's soccer: THE REFEREEING IS TRULY HORRENDOUS. i mean really bad. So many wrong calls. obviously wrong.
I watched the game late last night. The US did play a very young squad. I do think the game was a bit controversial. The first England goal was legit. 1-0. A pretty bad clearance/slide that was flubbed led to an England tap in.
The US was robbed of a corner after that. Pretty obvious after a scrum near the England goal that the ball was knocked out by England.
Sophia Smith with a very nice finish to tie it up 1-1. I'm still not sold with her and Pugh being the next generation. Not that there are a ton of other options, but they seem second class compared to previous players.
IMO a pretty bad PK call put England up 2-1 for good. Corner cleared to top of US box, a US player had her foot waist high for a clearance, and an England player put her head down waist high and contact was made. Bad call.
Rodman had a fantastic goal that was called off for a mystery offsides. The goal was called a goal on the field, then VAR pulled something out of their arsses and disallowed it. A giant mystery. So bad.
Game over.
So, my two cents: the US is on the decline, and other world teams are on the rise. The US doesn't seem like they will/can win the World Cup next year. Hope i'm wrong.
@FarmerJayhawk said in JUST BEAT THE TCU LIZARDS:
Fer eff's sake. they delayed the game constantly for a zillion other "reviews". WTF not for that one?????!!!!
respectable loss.
hate to say it though.
we had our chances, and lost our best player.
TCU receivers really made some incredible catches.
Missed tackles could have saved us from big gains here and there.
Bean was good, and had a few bads.
My biggest nitpick...there was some crappy play calling in the red zone by Lance L.
On a positive note, that TE catch down the middle of the field was remarkable. Never seen anybody turn their body like that.
Well, that went South pretty quickly. Eff. Could have taken the lead, but instead a series of mistakes and bad decisions now sends us spiraling.
Bad decisions started with the goal line turnover. Then Daniels refused to throw it away and got drilled.
Crap.

Gotcha. Crap. Thx
Anybody have a Hinshaw injury update? Can't find squat.
I'm assuming he has a serious injury but ya never know.
Nice game, Chiefs!
My only complaint: Wish we could have hit Brady harder!
I love the fire in Pacheco's belly. Strong legs, both him and CEH.
Victory! That was a comedy of odd things on the field today. Poor ISU kicker.
So was the opposing defense that good or did it seem like we didn’t really put Jalon to good use today?
Anybody know about Hinshaw? I honestly don’t know about his previous injuries, but from what I read it sure seemed related to a previous “rare” hip injury. Sucks.
And I’ll just say it (sorry)… Fans, please stop mobbing the field after wins. Just stop. Amateur hour. Injury waiting to happen. You’re better that that.
Pulisic came on as a late sub today vs Palace.
Made a great cutting running inside from the left, dished off and watched his teammate score. Assist!
Chelsea’s new manager started them in a 3-5-1-1 formation, which had my head spinning. I don’t understand the responsibilities in that formation. If you have Chilwell as part of the 3, isn’t he a wingback who likes to get forward? What do the outside guys in the 5 do? Just be in his way, right?
@focojayhawk said in USMNT:
Not sure I could have any less expectation for success at the World Cup. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised...and that the US can score a goal at least once in their three games
Wow, I had the same thought. Will the US score in the WC? I hope they are just playing possum, and bust out the offense soon.
Fer crissakes. The never ending movie.
@approxinfinity said in USMNT:
We’ve run out of time. We seem to have no idea who we are.
Well put. Sure seems that way.
And Reyna, hurt again.
Guess I’m not alone thinking we weren’t very good! Sigh.
From Goal.com
It was the U.S. men's national team's final match before the World Cup, and boy was it a dud.
It was a game devoid of anything. It had no goals, no big moments, no promising sequences. The one memorable thing from this content will be a potential injury to a key star. (Reyna)
Well, the send off Saudi game was about as lackluster as they come.
Fingers crossed they rediscover their mojo before the Cup.
@AsadZ said in Week 2 (already?) - Chiefs vs. Chargers:
Did you all see halftime chat between Pat and Eric B. Is there any bad blood between the two.
I recall last year after AFC C game there was a story on how Pat and Eric B have not seen eye to eye. Is this just speculation or something has been brewing between them.
I didn’t notice during the game, but saw some headlines about it after. Seemed like a tiny bit of back and forth for sure. Adds fuel the the rumor mill, huh!
Holy crap.
That loss was just straight up embarrassing. Didn’t get a chance to weigh in earlier. Probably a good thing! &$#@%%%
As @mayjay said, just a comedy of unforced errors. Wow.
Sky Moore! Jesus. You have lost punt return privileges. If I were the coaches I’d be debating a straight up roster drop after that shit show. Easy to argue he lost KC the game. Fer effs sake.
Did it seem like we had a zillion drops? Was Mahomes not accurate on some of those? He was pressured most of the day.
Chris Jones. Omg. Why?
Brilliant fake kick decision, Andy. Really went well. Another argument he lost us the game.
And why the hell is McKinnon getting so many rushes? I like him, but his skill is not running up the gut. Sweeps! Screens! Use his freaking speed! Remarkable to say, but another Andy fail.
So disappointed in that loss.
