Like @BShark I agree that KJ is not getting enough minutes. And they are coming in a choppy fashion that do not really let him get into any type of flow or rhythm. If you are in for 2 min, and then get yanked right back out, you will start playing like the hook is coming, which become the "Self" fulfilling prophesy. I would like to see KJ get more min (over Garrett) so we can really see how he does. He has not had a fair shake to show if he is going to play with intensity on both ends.
As for Dedric, he is clearly a guy who knows how to play (similar to Perry). But where Perry was simply undersized, I have been troubled and astounded by Dedric's lack of jumping ability and explosion to the basket. I mean, he can hardly jump over a piece of paper. Which makes me question if he has a bad wheel or something. It relegates him to the "old man" game, and that is not what I was expecting from an elite talent. Anyone thinking he was going to be more athletic than he has shown so far? I think he will produce, and get us double-doubles, but when we face teams with multiple bigs who are elite athletes, I think he is going to struggle finishing at the hoop unless it is an issue where he recovers from an injury... if there is one.

Mac dnp could have been a team issue like he failed to turn in a paper and coach did not want to publicly humiliate him for it.
Why play Garrett when you could play KJ? Bigger stronger better shooter. His D is weak but Dok is back there protecting. Would much rather see KJ get those min.
Seems to have dropped a lot of weight. Always a good thing.

@Kcmatt7 I am with you. Hanni was a terrible hire....terrific guy, but his nasaly whine, annoying voice and cheesy style is as far from Bod Davis as they could have gone. And dont get my started on the grand canyon sized gap from Max to Gurley.

@Kcmatt7 Silvio showed some nice post moves in college games with little prep as basically a displaced HS senior. Did jamari ever? I think we will see a much more polished and offensively productive SD this year. His upside is far greater than JT.
@nwhawkfan I saw part of an episode tonight and East Coast bias loud and proud even here. When they began talking about coaching they jumped right to great NY and east coaches of the 40's and 50's. Then they made a VERY brief mention of, in this order, Iba, Allen, and Rupp. How do you not lead rhe coaching history with the Father of Basketball coaching? I turned the channel.

@jaybate-1-0 It lept off the page and whipsawed me when I heard the sound bite. The "victim" spin bordered on OTT. the interesting twist is how adamant and vocal Silvio's guardian was about not taking any money. The guardian said that Silvio never played for a 3 stripe AAU team or had any affiliation with Adidas. Cue movie plot twist: what if the dastardly villains at Adidas went after Silvio in retaliation for never joining their petro shoe complex. Maybe they fingered him and tried to drag him and KU into the muck. Many forces don't like to see flyby schools in the F4. This thing is getting juicy! (read: out of hand ridiculous). It would seem stupid for them to go after a player at an adidas school, but weirder things have happened. Now if Preston took money it would not surprise me in the least. Seems like very dim bulbs in that camp.
For the NC if vacated, there is no champion crowned. So if we vacate season who wins the big 12.? If no champ then we could win 14 in a row twice as it were.

@BShark @jaybate-1-0 Could it be that bill kept sending Doke in there to our detriment had to to with Dokes mom flying 8000 miles to seen him for first time in 6 years? He is human too and that pulled on everyones heartstrings. I was afraid that Doke would get too wrapped up in the moment but maybe it was bill? Esp if Doke is leaving. Mitch and Silvio were clearly better match ups as you have aptly noted. Maybe old Bill is a softie deep down.
@Texas-Hawk-10 You missed the point entirely; however @HighEliteMajor did not. I never equated him with Keith "the scoring machine" Langford. I did suggest he would be a great source to help Vick navigate foreign waters, because LaCobra will not be earning a penny on US soil unless it's G League.

@jaybate-1-0 There were 2 key junctures in the first half where we got amazingly open looks for three. We could have cut the lead to 11 or 10 and had the ellusive mo. But nova purposely i am certain left only Garrett open for those looks knowing he was ill equipped for those shots. He shot your aforementioned airball and he clanged the other. They naturally raced down and canned shots and the game was over. They forced us into the lowest of all percentage options and again made us look foolish.
@HighEliteMajor Like @wissox i thought the most amazing thing about your top notch post was that you had the stomach to watch the game again. It was one of those games were you could just feel it was over VERY early on. I will admit in an effort to not embarrass myself and lose my mind, i watched very little of the 2nd half and watched a movie instead.
What bothers me so much is that it is becomming a habit for us to lose in such a way that we humiliate ourselves on a national stage. Vick falling down and rolling around muliple times is the perfect example of not showing the world who we really were all year. 3 years in a row we have done this. I dont mind losing to a better team. I hate it but i can live with it. Laying a total egg in the E8 or F4 not so much. Maybe that is why we don't get more national respect.
I do find it ironic that the only way to win this game would have required Bill to adopt the ultimate fools gold game plan. I know he was saying Let if fly, but deep down i bet Wright knew bill well enough that bill would never launch 50 3s. He still wanted to pound the post. Wright appears to own bill at this point. He has embarrased him twice now on the big boy stage.
It was brutal to watch the first time. You are a better man than me to watch it a second.

Just a quick soap box...we might not be able to collect $ to get mom to the US, but anyone can change a life for about $40 a month by sponsoring a child in a third world country. We have had kids in Haiti, Africa, the Philippines, and Mexico. Skip eating out once a month and literallty change a life by providing food, clothes, education, and medical. It actually will help the whole family. Depending on the relief org, there could be spiritual instuction as well.
We love Compassion International but there are other good orgs. You can pick boy or girl and the country. The letters and pics we exchange are priceless.
Ok, off the box. Cant wait to see Dokes mom. Hope she is not too overwhelmed. His dad would be so proud of him.
In 16 they rattled us with their physicality/extreme fouling. This year is pyback time. Doke just has to be smart and avoid the silly fouls in open court. They have no match for him, he is too strong for the butt front. Plus momma will be in the building. Doke goes 22/10. Silvio 6/12
