The Big 12 will have some good teams and not necessarily a down years as some predicted.
Jayden Russell, St. Thomas Aquinas HS or just Aquinas.
Bilas is such a homer, he should at least try to appear impartial.
Hachimura doing his best Doke impression and missing his last 4 FTs.
Down goes Duke...ESPN declares national mourning day.

Wow. Nebraska was #26 and #24 in the two main polls, great win for Tech. and the conference.

How is it possible Duke has 13 pts off free throws but Auburn is 0/0?
Only 13? Duke will want its money back.
No, and I hope he does not start now. If ant place can tempt a coach to take shortcuts to improve from its current condition, KU would be it.
Chill out. I simply stated that I hope Les does not leave KU on probation like Brown did. I really made no comment on how excited any one was or was not.
Our basketball team was in worse shape than the current football team, based on expectations, when Larry came aboard.
If you really think that is the case, I want whatever is that you are drinking.
KU was not an elite programs when Brown came in but it still was a pretty good program; the football programs is the worst of all P5 programs without a doubt.. Brown won a very unlikely title but Williams and Self are the ones that made KU Elite once again. Like I said, Brown has an amazing basketball mind and is a great coach but, based on his track record, I prefer he is not associated with the KU program, I guess we just agree to disagree.
It was a big improvement over Owens but cautious based on his time at UCLA. Disappointed in him for leaving KU on probation and very disappointed more recently when I found out the real extent of the violation and KU was a whisker away from getting the death penalty...it was a hell of a lot more than just one plane ticket as originally reported. I have posted before that I would prefer there is zero association with him. You will notice he was advising Silvio’s guardians and look what happened. IMHO, Brown is radioactive.
If there is justice in our system, the charges would be dismissed and the plaintiff order to pay attorneys fees for all the defendants.
What am I missing? Marquette does not strike me as a particularly dangerous 3 point shooting team. The only player averaging 0.400 has taken only 5 shots. KU seems like a much better 3 point shooting team. Their wins were against UMBC, Bethune-Cookmand and Presbyterian and lost by 23 to Indiana.

KU wins going away by double digits likely well into the 20s.
The All-Start officiating crew was anything but...Ndamukong Suh is still the dirtiest player in the NFL
...and he left KU on probation...like UCLA before and SMU afterwards. Brown is a great basketball mind and coach but as a program manager he is toxic; let’s hope Miles is not anything like him in this respect.
I just said UK is worse than KU defending the 3. If not for all that height VMI could have won. UK will be killed by competent teams that can shoot the 3.
Best steak...steer medium well...👍
Kentucky is worse than KU defending the 3, VMI just broke the record for 3s at Rupp.
If I were a betting man (I am not) I would guess the lawsuit will be dismissed and the judge will suggest he sues his own father. FBI lawsuit notwithstanding, I still don’t know of a law that prevents a business from giving money to anyone, they do it all the time and it is call advertising and marketing and it is not Adidas responsibility that receipients jeopardize eligibility in something else or that they prefer to keep it hidden. How soon before creepy porn lawyer starts representing prospects whose payments by shoecos were not sufficient or went south?
The right assistants and coordinators might be able to bring their own recruits. Regardless, it is the absolute best hire we could have expected.
Not a win but a really good showing for KU, definitely above what was expected. OU had to earn the win and now is the only conference team with a shot at the playoffs although it is stating to look like the conference will not have a team in the playoffs.
If you look where the water comes into the house, there should be a valve that shuts off water to the entire house. Now, if the break is outside the house then it is different but it should not affect the house. We engineers like to fix things.
Kentucky has problems, Villanova has problems, West Virginia has problems...compared to them KU is a solid team that is still trying to figure out the optimal combination.
Do you not have a master shutoff? Plumbing is not terribly complicated and if you have the right tools Nd aces to YouTube a lot of the repairs are not that complicated.
We are looking at it from a different perspective, that’s all.
Obviously the 3 point defensive weakness is out ↗ and teams will be exploiting it until something is done about it.
Captain Blood???
Agreed on the Oklahoma State foul call at the end of the game; clear example of the refs determining the outcome of games.
It is going to be long season for Huggy. At this time bottom half of the conference seem the likely result. Texas might be the biggest beneficiary since it might move it to top half of the conference and make Smart's seat less hot.
He is pretty good but you have to be better than that to get meaningful playing time at KU.
Channel 5 in KC saying the contract with Miles is a done deal quoting Sports Illustrated. It also indicated that Miles would only work with an AD he trusted and ours just earned his salary in spades. Sound like it is finally happening...
Dedric was 6-11, 7-10 from the FT and 0-1from 3 with 6 rebounds and 3 assists; perhaps not what we expected but not too bad either.
There is something to be said about tradition and I believe the Jayhawk has deep tradition, is one a kind and I would no change it. What is next Oakland Raiders like black uniforms?
Vick 7-12 from 3, the rest of the team 1-10. Vick also had 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals...excellent game for him and be career high of 33 after his previous career high of 32 agains Vermont.
The day before Notre Dame and BC were upset by Redford and IUPUI. #15 Syracuse has now lost 2 games in a row.
Hard to tell considering we don’t even know what his contract with KU is or will be or if there will even be one.
He was due $5.5M and he had to do absolutely nothing to get it and settled for $1.5, so he gave up $4M so he can go to work with a chance to make up the $4M and hopefully more. I will guess that his signing bonus will compensate for the $4M he gave up.
Considering the body of work available for Beaty, the last two games are not going to make any difference at all.

@JayHawkFanToo but, Beaty wants to finish, I think.
Yes, but I would think this is the case if a new coach has not been hired. Once a new HC is announced/hired it becomes very uncomfortable for Beaty.
Even if he is friends with Coach Self I would find it difficult to think that Coach Self would be happy with Fran publicly discussing what would have been private conversations.
If Miles is hired I would think they would give Beaty the option to leave immediately and have one of the assistants finish the season. It would be very awckward for Beaty to coach with the new coach watching over his shoulders.
The MSM darling ACC went 2-2 yesterday, ranked 3 after the Big 10 and Big 12.
Not quite...Miles would have gotten an additional $4M for doing nothing, now he has to work to make up that loss.
I would think there is a heck of a lot more to the BYU situation than we known. It is one of the more severe penalties ever for something that has routinely warranted only a few games suspension for the student. It really makes no sense based on the information publically available to date.
I still think KU will wait until the last game is played to introduce the new HC and spare Beaty the embarrassment. If KU wanted to announce as soon as one was signed it would not have allowed Beaty to finish the season and would have appointed an interim coach.
Fran likely making himself look more important and like he has an inside line with Coach Self. The comments he made when Vick left were nowhere near what Fran is saying; I would seriously doubt Coach Self...or any other Coach... would say anything even close to that to a reporter/analyst. Even if true, this is something that would no be shared other than with the close inner circle and definitely not with the press since it is the stuff other program can use to sway prospects away from KU.
Take a look a this chart, ↗ lots of potential players left...
I was about to post the same thing. He took a big cut which I imagine will translate to a big signing bonus.
A reasonable person would think so but we are talking about the government...and whatever political agenda it is following.
There are a number of top prospects that have not signed and with whom KU has the lead or is a strong contender. Very premature to call the recruiting class a bust when the recruiting season is far from done. It would be the equivalent of calling Villanova and Kentucky busts because of one bad game when the bulk of the season is still ahead. I will wait until all recruiting is done before stating and opinion on how good...or bad...the recruiting class is. That is just me.
I am very familiar with Government issued offcial ID card; in most of Latin America it is called Carnet de Identidad and it is required to do any paperwork with the government. Unfortunately, every time this has been proposed in this country it has been opposed...by liberals...that claim big government is trying to keep track of everybody. if you think this will ever be implemented in this country you are absolutely dreaming. BTW, all this countries that have the government issued ID have even bigger problems with vote fraud so it is not the solution.
Having to show proof of identity such as a valid license or birth certificate is not not that much of a burden and a samll price to have clean elections. We have to present proof of identity to buy cigarettes or liquor, legally drive, see certain movies or apply for government benefits and no one seems to have a problem with it; it becomes a problem when you want people that cannot prove they can legally do it to actually vote. Do you know the Lakeland Shooter registered to vote from jail, gave the jail address as his address and was legally registered? Our system is broken because there is a vested interest to have ineligible people vote...it is really that simple and fraud is rampant.
The alleges $20K was supposed to be a payment by Adidas to reimburse the booster/UA but there is no evidence it ever took place. I am not even sure the FBI ever showed proof of the $60K transaction either. Frankly, the FBI case was built with smoke and mirrors and other than a few recordings and the word of Gassnola wanting a deal I am not sure the money was ever tracked down.
I don't get why programs extend contracts of marginal coaches with limited appeal. I get they want to send a message to recruits that the coach is safe but in the process the extend the stay of a poor or marginal coach or get themselves along term financial liability
