I love this kid. I think he has the ball skills to really be a headache for other teams at the 3 or the 4.
@wissox There was talk of him staying at Dook. I heard Dook doesn't pay quite as much, but they offer better benefits to his mother, so it was a hard decision.
@BShark Question.... let's say we get Jalen and RJ. Then DD and Q decide to come back. Are we running with DD/RJ/Q/Jalen/Doke, or does Ochai start ahead of Q?
Can't wait until the Shlockers play them next year....lol.
@jayballer73 NO! We can not allow that! Shaka must stay put.
@BShark If we do get Grimes back, I hope we get a jazzed up version. He showed flashes last year.
@BeddieKU23 I believe it. Marcus will get lots of minutes guarding him.
@Marco Here's the irony...we could end up getting Grimes back, and losing DD. No doubt we'll get RJ and Jalen... so does a lineup of RJ...Grimes?....Ochai....Wilson...Doke have the goods?
@BShark Ramsey is just a beast.
[
@Crimsonorblue22 I would so love for him to come back.
I assume DD is gone.
@BeddieKU23 Whatever you do, don't watch the Youtube video of Ramsey taking on Jalen. Ugh...
@BeddieKU23 In Charlotte with Devonte...
RJ/Grimes/Ochai/Jalen/Doke...I could dig that...
@jayballer73 Soooooo...we get RJ, and Jalen, and Grimes comes back. Okie dokie...
@Kcmatt7 why not both?
@BShark Marcus Garrett better learn how to shoot...
@BShark 30 lbs more.
@Crimsonorblue22 It's either alcohol or drugs. When you threaten someone, and then tear their car up when you're drunk, that's a problem. When you run from the cops after being detained, that's a problem. Do you think he was sober acting that way?
He has a drinking problem. He does stupid shit when he's drunk. If he continues to drink excessively, then he will do something that will hurt himself or others. I just want the young man to turn to better solutions because he has a spectacular future ahead if he can make the right decisions.
@approxinfinity I always saw him and the Lawsons pal around.
@BShark The 2 point guard approach worked with Devonte and Frank...but I'm not sure they would've done as well if Dedric was in that lineup.
@HighEliteMajor Probation could actually be a selling feature for a typical OAD. 10 years ago, they would've said " You don't want to go to "XYZ" because they might be placed on probation and you might not make the NCAA tournament". Now they say " hey, go to XYZ... hopefully they'll get placed on probation, and you won't have to bother with the NCAA tournament. That way you can keep yourself fresh." Would Quentin have been broken up if we hadn't made the tournament last year ... or would he have used that time to select his agent? ( I'm picking on Quentin here- there are several other OADS I could've used).
A great example is Malik Newman's near historic tournament run two years ago. He averaged 32 points per game in a 5 game run, and didn't get a whiff of interest from the NBA during the draft.
@justanotherfan That's some good stuff, man. Great post.
@drgnslayr X was a tremendous rebounder...just fierce about it.
@BShark So the bidding war begins. Whoever offers the most zeros wins...
@jayballer73 Jalen, and it's not close. I told a Memphis fan I hope they hadn't run out of money, and could take Precious off our hands...
That's easy for you to say....
[
@Woodrow I looked up Precious stats, and he had 23 turnovers in 8 games. He shot 22% from 3. It appears he would definitely be a project.
@Kcmatt7 Better call Sal in real life...lol.
Sorry....fake news on Twitter...whodathunkit?
It was a weird decision. He must've been disgusted by the recruiting payola. The way he exited wasn't good, but I've seen worse. Like Chris Beard walking out on UNLV three weeks into the job.
@jayballer73 He's famous to us.
@approxinfinity Doesn't he like to play 25 feet out?
He screwed up. If he wasn't famous, we never would've known. Maybe he got drunk and forgot he was famous. He'll be alright...rub some dirt on it.
@Kcmatt7 Yes. I'm starting it...
LOL...
@BeddieKU23 He is eligible. He is ranked one spot higher than Isaiah Moss:
- Jaevin Cumberland, 6-3, 185 pounds, SG, RS Jr., Oakland
The cousin of Cincinnati guard Jarron Cumberland is a big-time backcourt scorer. Averaged 17.2 points and 3.5 assists and shot 39.9 percent from 3.

I like Cumberland because he had 15 games where he hit at least 4 3 pointers, and 14 games where he had at least 4 assists. He averaged 1.1 steals a game to boot. He averaged 17 ppg on 12.3 spg, so it's not like he was shooting 25 shots a game. If there's a minute left in the game, I want our opponents fouling this guy instead of Marcus.
@FarmerJayhawk Ok... what about Jaevin Cumberland? 17.2 ppg...scored 13 against Sparty. Scored 14 against Georgia. Shot 39.9 from 3/ 47.8 from 2 ...had 2 to 1 asst to t.o. ratio, and shot 85% from the free throw line. Made 109 3 pointers last year...
Or a guy we recruited a year or two back...Shakur?????
@FarmerJayhawk What about Blackshear?
I'll never forget that loss to Belein and the Wolverines... that's right up there with losing to Arizona in the E8 in 97, the championship game loss to Syracuse, and the VCU debacle.
@jayballer73 you can say that again....lol.
@BShark i noticed after he scored 19 points in 96 seconds, the next game he went 0 for 7 in 23 minutes, and then was given 14 minutes the next game after that. Not sure if he is just inconsistent, or Iowa has a quick hook. he scored 20 against the Clones, and scored 16 against Tenn. he's a riddle...
BTW, that Jalen Wilson would be a God send.
@BShark I dunno... but I heard the Transformers might be able to help.
@BeddieKU23 You take him and Garrett and roll them together, and you'd have an All American..
