Love that Silvio came to play = 16 points. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK. What a dogged team. And the HOF Coach came ready to call the calls. Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles NEVER won the Big 12 Conf. or Tournament the whole 4 years they were at WVU. They were denied hanging the banner and I am so ecstatic. 15 3's. Got buckets when we needed them. Determination was a real factor. 48 points in the second half. Our Hawks proved to themselves they could do it without Dok and others stepped up. Malik Newman was the MAN. MVP. NEXT!
@Crimsonorblue22 Tech
@Crimsonorblue22 Hi. Did you read about him saying he too has some "issues" after Kevin Love wrote about his?

There is a small group of Texas fans than all wear matching sweaters that come each year.
I know the ones with the "matching sweaters". As a group they are all season ticket holders here at UT and one of them is still the senior attorney in the real estate group that I worked with all those years. Another guy is a guy who owns a construction company here in Austin and was a client that I worked with all the time. We had fun going back and forth when KU played UT. They've done this many many years and are loyal when going to Big 12 Tourney. They as a group got to go to AFH and take a tour 4 years ago and the senior attorney brought me back some swag from there. Each year I got something from him. Another cool thing is the senior attorney is a Board Member for McDonald Observatory and one year about 18 years ago I asked him if he could bring me back any printed articles (as I am also a huge space fan) and every year after that I got a 11x17 or bigger photo of a stellar space shot from Hubble from his 2 trips there each year for the board meetings. Nothing but love for him. I always liked to look for them in the crowd and it was easy to spot because of the matching sweaters
From ESPN Power Rankings: Don't our "quadrant" wins beat what every other team has done?
- Kansas Jayhawks
Record: 23-6
Last week: 4
Fourteen straight Big 12 titles. When will we learn to stop doubting the Jayhawks? Moreover, Kansas continues to pad its number of Quadrant 1 and 2 wins. The Jayhawks now lead the nation with 11 Quadrant 1 wins and 18 Quadrant 1 and 2 wins -- four more than anyone else.
And yet when I looked on ESPN site early this morning there was NOT even one article or mention of OU's loss last night.
@jaybate-1.0 I wasn't even born when that happened!

I wonder if there is an inherent jealousy by Vick vs Dtae. Look back to the first of the season and Vick got a lot of Coach talking about him and what a great player he was. As Dtae deferred to Frank last year, maybe Vick just isn't wired the same way Dtae is and took the focus on Dtae as something other than it was. Dtae was in charge deservedly so and Vick realized he wasn't good enough and therefore just stopped trying. Futile thinking for sure. Then he was dropped out of starting 5. Or is it because Vick knows with his play being off and hardly on that he sees his draft status lowered and is just not sure where he is in the whole scheme of things. I hope he gets his mind right. That video of him after Tech win in the hallway was sad as he looked like he just pushed Hudy away from him.
A week off might not be enough for Bamba. Smart said trainers are “still evaluating exactly what the diagnosis is.” They know it’s a sprained toe. He could barely walk after Kansas State. The pain was great enough to keep Bamba out of the second half of last Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State.
“Obviously, we’d love to get him back out there, but we have to do the right thing for him and to make sure that he heals up,” Smart said. “I guess the status is day-to-day.”
The Jayhawks were sure disappointed the 6-foot-11 freshman didn’t make the trip.
“I think we wanted to take every team’s best shot,” Kansas guard Svi Mykhailiuk said, “so we all were a little disappointed he didn’t play against us.”
Kansas coach Bill Self acted like it was no big deal, as if taking away the Big 12’s best shot blocker had no affect on anything.
“You guys (the media) dissect everything so much,” Self said. “So we find out at 1 o’clock that he’s not going to play. That doesn’t change anything. Other than throw the ball inside to Doke.”
Oh, Kansas did that plenty. Udoka Azubuike had a field day without Bamba there to keep him honest. Azubuike had 20 points and was 10 for 11 shooting. Many of those were two-handed slams where it looked like Azubuike was trying to dunk it as hard as he could.
“All I can say is phenomenal coach and coaching staff,” Smart said of Kansas.
Roach had 18 points, eight assists, lost a shoe at one point and his pre-game meal, too. With about two minutes before halftime, Roach walked off the floor, covered his mouth and headed for a nearby trash can. “It was some raviolis,” Roach said. “I felt way better afterward.”
From Austin newspaper this morning. :blue_heart: that Shaka had to walk past all our trophies!
Guys are probably relieved the streak is over but they aren't playing fast and free.
This from "Basketball Recruiting"

So "Champions" are just a part of KU History:

Check out this analysis. And he went to Mizzou!
So down here in Austin several articles have been very hard on Shaka saying basically "All he has done is get to one Elite 8." It is the familiar 'What have you done for us?' that has UT fans questioning him as a coach. Going to love to see us go 36-0 on Senior Night (another record?) and 9-0 vs Shaka!!!!!!!!!! Of course I have reminded them that Coach hasn't lost to Shaka since that game. :kissing_smiling_eyes:
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!0_1519595552624_#14 4.jpg ↗
And a Hall of Fame Coach who has NEVER been swept. That is just an amazing stat to me.
@Crimsonorblue22 And on that, NIGHT ALL. ROCK F'ing CHALK JAYHAWK GO KU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Crimsonorblue22 You don't think he looks like a young Bruce Weber?
Here's one take:

Spoiler: Last line:
"This may very well be the best coaching performance of Bill Self’s career."
@Crimsonorblue22 Does the coach on the right look like someone we know???????
THIS is really well done. Sums it up nicely.
BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS. WHATCA GONNA DO? WHATCA GONNA DO WHEN THEY COME 4 YOU? BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS
I was proud to see this:
It was #BIFM Karma in The Phog.
FWIW: Did you feel during the game that there was such a huge discrepancy? I remember looking and seeing that we were already in the bonus midway each half. Huggy plays catch and grab and slap, then almost dares the refs to call all the fouls his guys commit on a regular basis and this time the refs called all the catches, grabs and slaps, as if to say we aren't putting up with it anymore. Higgins is lead on the crews these days and his ego may have been a factor. JMO
Trey Done
How about these 2 FACTS! The first one is amazing if true. I haven't checked it for accuracy but if it is that is amazing.
I am thankful that we are were we are even with the 3 losses so far. Think positive like ESPN here.
Time for Mitch to contribute. Next man up. The freakin "...only team in the country with an average RPI win higher than 100."
Now we need tx to beat tx tech.
Huggins threw his players under the bus after the last two losses and after UK I took his criticism to be to JCarter when he said "we have players that are more into themselves than as a team" or something to that effect. Carter couldn't handle the spotlight.
@wrwlumpy Coach has the same expression in both of these

Nuff Said - "The Kansas #Jayhawks have defeated the Kansas State Wildcats for the 195th time in this long series. No team in Div. 1 has defeated another team more times than KU has beaten K-State".
I'm one that is excited about what we will be in 2 weeks more than where we are now. Coach now knows what he has to play with and can get the consistency that we will need. Every game helps and to pull the last two out shows some grit in this team.
@StLJhawk I hope it doesn't turn into that.
I posted these earlier in a different thread

Well????????????? Guess he wasn't going to wait it out? After all KU did, maybe the end was never in sight??? Just WOW.
