@BigBad Doke/Dedric/Silvio/Mitch/McCormack. RIP to any opposing teams front court that has to deal with that shit. I agree that we should start Silvio. The only thing is do we really wanna do that to Vick right before the Tourney? He might never rebound and I still think he's the key to this particular squads ceiling.

Shareef O'neal commits to UCLA • Feb 28, 2018 10:35 PM

Not that I wasn't a stud out of high school or anything...........

Shareef O'neal commits to UCLA • Feb 28, 2018 10:35 PM

If we are talking about just location and I was a stud coming out of high school no doubt I go to UCLA.

Last time a school had two consecutive POYs was duke in the early 2000s and one of those teams won a ship I believ. Would be great if we could do it too.

Villanova? • Feb 28, 2018 12:43 AM

Porter should sit the rest of the season just to be safe and come back next year to solidify his spot as the #1 pick. Even tho Nova is a fantastic team, def the overall seed, I would love a revenge game against those guys. Can't wait to see if this team can extend this win streak, win the b12 tournament and get red hot. Wouldn't it be great to win a title then roll into next year the preseason #1? Too hyphy right now....

What’s up with Lagerald? • Feb 27, 2018 01:44 PM

Oh my dudes Marcus Garret is my new favorite I bought his jersey this year. Will be a great compliment to our loaded roster of shooters next year. Hope whatever is messing with Vick fixes itself by tournament time.

What’s up with Lagerald? • Feb 27, 2018 04:01 AM

Anyone else noticing a lack of effort? Seems like he’s had a lot of careless plays.

@wissox so from what I understand it’s the FBI that wiretapped him and released the findings. The NCAA has no actual proof that Ayton or Bridges received the money. The decision to sit Miller was made by the school administration and not the NCAA. If this all came to light last year i do wonder however if Self would have sat Josh. Would like to hear everyone’s take on that.

Hello • Feb 24, 2018 11:29 PM

Moment of silence for the champions. 🎸

I kind of feel for Miller. The only way he could pry recruits away from the blue bloods was to literally pay them 6 figures. We all knew DeAndre was coming here until Arizona came in and swooped him. Pretty sure he hadn’t even taken a visit to their campus at that point? Still the fact Miller would do that is a very interesting look into the darker side of recruiting. If Kansas isn’t involved in pay for play, which I believe Self is way too smart to ever directly involve the university or himself in such a thing, what are we involved in? And if we do come out of this thing unscathed then that’s another thing we’ve been absolutely spoiled with about Self. He won at the highest level and he did it the right way.

Breaking Wooden • Feb 22, 2018 01:50 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Ooh very informative thank you I hadn’t realized that

Breaking Wooden • Feb 22, 2018 12:14 PM

No program has suffered more heart breaking losses in championship games than the Kansas Jayhawks. Just getting there is an accomplishment that many programs in Division 1 have never been able to do. It’s an incredibly difficult task to win a title but I can think of one thing that by many would have seemed impossible. This year we actually have a chance to beat an all time record set by the great John Wooden. Something that other programs will never be able to claim. By winning a 14th conference championship our program will set in stone a record that will quite possibly never be broken. While other programs chase John Wooden in titles, a feat they will never get to, we actually beat him at something else. Would you, fellow Jayhawk fans trade this feat for a title? And if so how many? DEBATE!

@wissox i was actually getting excited about playing as a lower seed but you’re right if we win the b12 we will be a 1 for sure.

Recruiting Thread • Feb 08, 2018 10:57 PM

@kjayhawks I don’t think this hurts our chances of landing Romeo because theres no way this kid starts over him. This does create an interesting scholarship situation though, especially if Romeo does commit because someone’s definitely getting the boot.

New Zone More Tricky That It Seems? • Dec 30, 2017 07:09 PM

One of my favorite Self things ever was implementing that hybrid zone during the 2012 season. After beating North Carolina Roy was asked during the post game press conference how long he thought we had been in the hybrid zone and he wasn’t sure. Maybe something similar?

Keegan • Dec 29, 2017 05:21 PM

What’s the point of having a biased sports writer? Gotta tell it like it is even if the fan base doesn’t wanna face the truth

Happy Holidays to the Buckets family. By far the best kubball forum on the web.

Silvio is cleared! • Dec 25, 2017 04:25 PM

Are we still in on Romeo and Zion? What’s our ceiling without one of them?

Silvio is cleared! • Dec 23, 2017 11:54 PM

@truehawk93 I’m very optimistic bud 😉

Silvio is cleared! • Dec 23, 2017 04:09 AM

There’s still reason to celebrate debby downers ;)

Billy • Nov 27, 2017 06:29 PM

Guys I need more insider info on Billy STAT. The thought of Billy, Desouza and Cunliffe all joining the team is exciting as hell.

Interesting thought bubble @Statmachine. Are we actually better in the short term playing guard heavy lineups? The point totals we are putting up seem to suggest that’s a strong possibility. Even with Billy ( or desouza) coming back there’s no doubt Coach is going to have to make a decision that will effect how this team plays for the remainder of the season. The pre-season starting lineup was set with 2 post players. I think there’s an excellent chance Coach brings his second big off the bench just like he’s been doing with Mitch.

The day Young announced, all of his CB picks switched to Oklahoma hours before he made it public. Someone close to him leaked it and I think that’s happening here. He’s gotta be ours. Hope he can snag Zion 😈.

Are we done recruiting? • Nov 12, 2017 12:21 AM

We all part of the buckets family. Everyone reconcile and continue talking about that ku bball.

Langford • Nov 11, 2017 10:51 PM

Vick has every intangible to play in the nba. He athletic, long, can shoot and defend. I’m almost certain that the coaching staff has been telling Zion that Billy is a one and done player they are also telling Grimes and Langford that Vick is nba bound as well.

Langford • Nov 11, 2017 08:12 PM

@BShark BINGO

I think it’s evident Kansas is his first choice and Indiana is second. With a return by Vick and a dog shit season by Indiana I don’t think it’s out of the question he signs with Vandy.

Ok so lets see if new recruiting thread • Aug 30, 2017 05:15 PM

Haha Maryland fans have got to be SO salty right now

Bagley reclassifying • Jul 29, 2017 01:57 PM

@AsadZ I believe since he's enrolled he's now considered a transfer which means he will ha to sit out a year

Bagley for Whitman • Jul 20, 2017 02:41 AM

@Kcmatt7 ok, nevermind then.

Bagley for Whitman • Jul 20, 2017 02:35 AM

Bagley is reclassifying and Whitman is transferring. Coincidence?

This is interesting. Can the KU fan base, fans of one of the most dominant college basketball programs ever, really have an inferiority complex? Only 3 titles to boot compared to the 5 by duke? 6 by Unc and 8 by UK? That in itself is why each tournament loss hits ku fans so hard every year. Another year gone for us to catch up while a program we compare ourselves to adds another trophy to the mantle. In reality Roy left to the enemy and widened the gap between us and the program's we envy. Instead of winning 3 titles at KU he won them at a blue blood that already had more titles than ku. A harsh reality we have to grapple with.

DG news! • Apr 09, 2017 10:02 PM

@BeddieKU23 I always figured that one of the main reasons Young didn't commit was because he didn't want to compete with Garrett for playing time. Texas player of the year right? He might be flying under the radar.... for now.

DG news! • Apr 09, 2017 09:28 PM

Needed this. Will have depth at every position next year. Wonder what Trevon thinks about this? A commitment would mean a preseason number 1 ranking.

Trae Young • Feb 01, 2017 08:16 PM

If Trae wants to go to Oklahoma It's because he wants to stay with his friends and family which I totally understand. I just hope he knows he's never going to beat KU or win a conference ship. His fate will be like Myles Turner and Jarrett Allen. Recruits spurning Kansas just to lose to us.

Self's Early 4 Ball Offense (for @REHawk) • Jan 02, 2017 02:02 AM

@jaybate-1.0 wow. A very, very interesting post. PHOF.

Mitch & Coleby • Dec 31, 2016 09:43 PM

"This semester didn't go the way Evan anticipated"? Grades weren't up to par?

Kansas vs West Virginia • Jan 13, 2016 01:48 AM

Playing our worst game of the season. It's alright. We are being brought back to earth. We will be the better for it.

Oklahoma vs Kansas Chat • Jan 05, 2016 02:54 AM

Worst call of all time

Oklahoma vs Kansas Chat • Jan 05, 2016 02:43 AM

Diallo is playing well

Oklahoma vs Kansas Chat • Jan 05, 2016 02:09 AM

Dick wasn't even a good coach

2011 was a little misleading if I remember correctly we lost the very next day to Kstate and never gained it back.

Chatting KU Baylor hoops here • Jan 02, 2016 11:54 PM

@KUSTEVE There have been a couple of times I've broken down, logged on and told them how terrible they had made KUsports... Very sad.

Kansas @ SDSU • Dec 23, 2015 06:11 AM

Have a happy holidays kubucket buds! RCJH!

Kansas @ SDSU • Dec 23, 2015 05:56 AM

I wish Diallo was playing right now

Josh Jackson • Dec 11, 2015 09:34 PM

I think for us to have any shot at landing Jackson we first need to sign Bolden and Allen.

HOLY CROSS CRUSADERS - Weds. 7 p.m. TWC • Dec 06, 2015 07:14 PM

Beautiful campus.... When it's not covered in snow

We Just Got Schooled By Harvard • Dec 06, 2015 12:52 AM

To me, this game very much mirrored the Michigan state game. We missed free throws, blew a huge lead and reverted to a slowed down cave man offense. The only difference was Harvard lacked the talent to hammer us and ultimately beat us. I do not want this to become a trend...

He is a 6-6 5-star wing that was considered a very heavy KU lean until Bama came in at the last second. They secured his commitment but he has come out and said he does not want to sign his LOI until the spring, raising speculation that he might leave. He is 10th on espn100.

Word is T-Ferg has not signed his LOI with Bama because he is waiting to see where Bolden lands. If KU lands Bolden it's said T-Ferg will switch and sign with us.

Thoughts or more info?
