I think we really got vanilla after going up 31-7 early in the third. 2 plays from it being 45-7 with the Marshall stop at the one and Hishaw not getting the face mask call that sets us up inside the 10. Lance is very classy I don’t think he’s the type to ever run up the score. We could’ve pushed hard and won 52-7 and beat our chest but it really doesn’t change how I feel about the game. Man Jeff Grimes was such a shit show last year. Offense looks so much more in tune.

Well friends I think that went about as well as we could ask for. Completely controlled the game from start to finish and JD 6 was near perfect. Those numbers won’t have anyone screaming heisman but they will win games with that level of efficiency. Especially when you consider he had 13 turnovers in the first 5 games last season. Zero turnovers and 3 take aways always makes me happy. I got to give the defense some major love I thought this game would be back and forth for the most part with us getting a few late drives to put it on ice. The overall team speed of the defense looks good to me and I think that was a major issue a year ago. I think this is good to build off of with Fresno likely being the 3 or 4 easiest game on our schedule.

@dylans its slightly better than nothing pending on how the pick goes. I honestly thought a $25 Walmart gift card was all they could get for him. He just never developed into a good route runner or a guy that can consistently catch the ball. Two things that won’t work in the nfl. He a good dude I hear from everyone so I wish him well and hope the change suits him well.

@stoptheflop it will be weird to see where it goes on price I feel like basketball tickets were the same last season with the price going up with less seats but it was harder to sell out. Felt like I seen more empty seats in Allen than ever before. I remember getting football tickets for $15 10 years ago. To me if you don’t have a full stadium you open it up for free in the second half.

Sounds like they have a mural for the bowl victories in the stadium. Which is nice, I know we don’t have a lot of bowl wins but we have never really had them on display. Kansas Athletics just announced the game is a sell out so that’s positive

I’m not super worried about the running back position myself. Especially if Hishaw can stay healthy I think him and Williams will be a solid 1-2 punch pending on the lines play. I’ll definitely miss Neal out there but an average RB can look pretty decent behind a solid line. Which is a big question mark to me right now. But id say our guys are above D1 average in the back field

I think the game will be settled by less than 10. Fresno is hard to get a reading on with a new coach and QB but have won 9 games 3 of the last 4 years.

It is officially game week my friends. Lots of questions will be answered on Saturday or clues as to how they will be answered. Can JD and Hishaw stay healthy as the heart of this offense? How will the offensive line fair with lots of uncertainty outside of the center position? Who will emerge at the wide receiver position? How will the secondary shake out having several key players that have moved on?

Nice to see KU receivers ball out tonight in the preseason. Skinner had a nice one hand TD for the jets and Grimm took back a punt for the chargers. Will miss the talented WR corps we’ve had the last few years.

@BShark @nuleafjhawk the owners claim preseason games still make them good money they will always be there. I really hope the chiefs don’t keep Sky Moore after repeated drops for one good punt return against the practice squad

@wissox Right if you think about how great Bean was in 2023 and JD beat him out in camp. He looked better early in 2022 as well.

People forget JD6 was as listed as a heisman hopeful by several media outlets just a few years ago. He seemed to be overthinking quite often last season and scared to run the ball when he had 15 yards of green right in front of him. Football is a game you can’t play scared

I just want to make a bowl game and beat our rivals on the gridiron. I think a bowl game is a must with the current state of the football program and the money dumped into it. I’m excited to see our new offensive coordinators in action. Old news of course but I was not even remotely impressed with Grimes at that position. I loved coach K and how he had so much going on presnap to bait the defense. We went from that to just hike it and run the play. I screamed at my TV repeatedly at the play calling and begged them to include Neal in the passing game much of the year. The last 4 games they finally did and we went 3-1 in those contest. I’m sorry but that’s not gonna work at Kansas maybe Texas or Alabama when you have the best athletes on the field every week. I’m gonna go 7-5 this year as my official prediction. We need JD 6 from a few years ago, he showed flashes last season but wasn’t the same.

I had a buddy that I met in College and he was from Arizona. He couldn’t handle the Kansas humidity very well at all. He was a football player and passed out several times at practice. He always claimed 100 in Arizona felt like 75 here.

The Kansas City Chiefs relayed another set of roster moves via the NFL transaction log on July 30, signing wide receiver Kwamie Lassiter II amid a string of training camp injuries at the position.

Kwamie was in Memphis last season with the USFL Steamboats. I think he’s a solid special teams guy. Just happy to see him get another opportunity. I watch guys like Sky Moore and think there are several better options at the spot.

The older I get the less I enjoy the summer.

@dylans for sure it has taken years of tests to get absolutely nowhere on my wife. After thousands in bills they think she may have some form of arthritis. The healthcare in this country is a total joke and scam to make billions of dollars. I don’t go to the doctor very often. Big pharmaceutical companies fund most medical schools in this country. They don’t want to fix a damn thing just want to add prescriptions and get kick backs. Insurance is a total joke all around as well.

Coach Self was hospitalized today. Here’s the full statement from KU Athletics: “Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self felt unwell and experienced some concerning symptoms Thursday. He was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he had two stents inserted. The procedure went very well, and he is expected to make a full recovery. He is in good spirits and expects to be released from the hospital soon.

Not a good way to start the sports year friends, his health continues to become a major issue. Hopefully he can coach this season and end a great career on a high note. But this just confirms the clock is definitely ticking on his career.

@FarmerJayhawk I was thinking the same but you never know. All that could be said about WV and we still added them at the time when supposedly Louisville and Cincinnati were in talks with the conference.

@Crimsonorblue22 that is maybe the ugliest game of basketball I’ve ever witnessed. No ball movement, tons of turnovers and just very sloppy play. I’m glad we won but man Cam Martin would help us if he was on our team.

I think Furphy was a lotto pick had the NIL let him stay and make some money. He has a ton of upside if given the right path.

I ended up turning off the draft tonight. It’s turned into the Shedeur show and it’s a bunch of race baiting crap. This is exactly why I seldom watch the network without KU playing on there. It’s just plain laughable at this point. The NFL is so racist that over 75% of the picks are non whites and the for the I believe the 4th year in a row the first pick is a minority QB. This league employs rapists, domestic abusers and drug users. Hell Ray Lewis killed a guy for Christ sakes. I honestly think Shedeur can play at this level if he lands in a good spot but 90% why he ain’t getting drafted is teams don’t want a side show distraction from him and his dad. There are too many good players without that baggage that are going first. They act like the guy just won the NC, he is a game above .500 as a starter at the FBS level. I’ve had to fire guys that were decent workers that didn’t fit in as a team member, were too negative and flat out not a team player. The NFL

Edit: at the end of the 3rd round a grand total of 5 QBs have been selected. In all of CFB I’d prob rank him 8th best.

I have a black stone griddle and I really like it can cook more meals on it with breakfast and such. I’ve had this issue before and I’ve always been able to tap my regulator with a mallet if it to cure itself. But if you can’t get it off to replace it unfortunately you likely will need a new grille.
