@BigBad Yes, if we match up against the Oklahoma City School of Horseshoeing we may have a chance.

Billy Momma Drama • Jan 03, 2018 02:47 PM

All due respect to "Mama P" - I don't care if her son (if he ever does play for us) averages 50 pts, 50 rebounds & 50 assists per game - he will not be the next coming of Jesus Christ to me.

Self's Worst Team at KU • Jan 03, 2018 02:45 PM

@dylans that "lose with effort" part was the killer for me.

And a team, supposedly of KU's caliber should never lose at home.

Billy Momma Drama • Jan 03, 2018 02:44 PM

Has anyone ever been "interviewed" for Jury duty? One of the questions that's always asked is:

Do you believe, by the fact that this man/woman is here in court today, that he/she must have done SOMETHING wrong?

Exposed again • Jan 03, 2018 02:08 PM

Right now the old Conference Championship streak is looking like a pretty damn lofty goal.

Guys & Gals - here's the deal:

98% of the time that KU loses, it's on Bill Self. The reason we lost this game - and the reason we lose games in late March and early April - Bill Self decides the KU team that has brought him all the glory is suddenly a different team. He plays to the strengths of the opposition. You've heard it said that coaches tell players to just play and never look at the scoreboard? This year, Self needs to play the team that is in the elite in the country in 3 pt shooting and not look at the schedule. They should practice with KANSAS in mind - not any other team. We play our game, we win every time regardless of the opponent.

I find the tiniest bit of solace in the fact that the worst KU hater where i work is an incredibly obnixious OU fan - so at least he won't say anything to me - 54-48. Bwaaa ha ha

@Crimsonorblue22 Sorry. I'm so damn mad right now it's pathetic. A lot of that anger is directed at a guy that wasn't even on the court. Three home losses (so far - i'm afraid the worst is yet to come) - Happy Frickin New Year. Will it go round in circles?

Saw more pu$$ies tonight in 2 hours than Hugh Hefner saw in a lifetime.

Bill Snyder Fun Fact • Jan 02, 2018 10:40 PM

Espn reports that Bill Snyder will be back at the helm next year for K-State Football.

The fun fact is that Bill Snyder is almost exactly half as old at the city of Manhattan.

Now here is some interesting comments • Jan 02, 2018 03:41 PM

@wissox I get your point - but turn it around. In the history of the universe, how many different teams have gotten to the Final Four?

How many have won 14 consecutive Conference Championships? In what is arguably the best basketball conference in the country.

Just sayin

Ok guys come on , have some fun • Dec 29, 2017 08:50 PM

The score will be the same as the OU - Georgia game. Kansas and Georgia will both win their respective games 82-66.

OH NO • Dec 22, 2017 08:05 PM

@jayballer54 My question was and is – is KU the only school that has had a two game losing streak -sure seems they blowing this thing out of proportion

The reason for this is because KU does NOT have 2 game losing streaks. It's a big deal. It's news when something only happens every 30 years.

OH NO • Dec 22, 2017 03:31 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 It's the most wonderful time of the year!!

@Crimsonorblue22 Why wouldn't they want someone with zero head coaching experience to lead what's been a pretty decent program for the past couple of decades?

Their current head coach had no head coaching experience either before he got to Manhattan.

I Am in Awe of this Team Now • Dec 21, 2017 06:57 PM

@drgnslayr I agree! In fact, I've often thought "lack of depth" is a big advantage. You don't have to worry about getting players minutes and interrupting the flow of the game. I also don't buy the idea of 18-20 year old kids getting tired during the two hours it takes to play a basketball game.

OH NO • Dec 21, 2017 02:07 PM

@wissox You won't be able to say that this time next year.

Dakich • Dec 21, 2017 01:54 PM

@REHawk He's got a face made for radio and a voice made for not hearing.

I know I will personally not ever listen to him again. Total embarrassment to a job that already has too many halfwits.

Trae Young • Dec 20, 2017 08:49 PM

I'm just not comfortable with all this coveting of another man's property. Let us not worship this young phenom any more.

If we MUST talk about him, let's talk about his down side.

He's too pretty. He probably is mean to dogs and little kids. He doesn't donate his spare change to McDonald's "gimmee tray". Probably never has donated to the red cross or gone on a mission trip. Probably only brushes his teeth once a day. If that. And doesn't floss.

I don't even have to type it all out any more - I'll just say @jaybate-1-0 disclaimer and y'all know what i mean.

I Am in Awe of this Team Now • Dec 20, 2017 08:23 PM

@drgnslayr Devonte walking it up - some announcer said it best the other day - "They're playing NOT to lose".

Same thing as a "PREVENT" Defense in football.

They prevent you from winning.

Play the damn game the same way you did when you were building the 30 point lead.

Couple of things here • Dec 20, 2017 08:21 PM

@jayballer54

"I Don’t Want to Belong to Any Club That Will Accept Me as a Member" - Groucho Marx

That's how I'm starting to feel about ANYONE that wants to join the KU Football team.

So nothing yet? • Dec 20, 2017 02:48 PM

I used to have a sign on my office door that read…Lack of planning on YOUR part does not constitute an emergency on MY part

I still have that sign hanging up. Plus another one that says a $100 surcharge will be added to your order if you mention that you found it cheaper online.

Trae Young • Dec 20, 2017 02:46 PM

@BeddieKU23 I wonder if he's good enough to play for Wichita State?

So it smells good? • Dec 19, 2017 11:56 AM

@BShark I turned his big stupid mouth off and the radio on. There was a 14 second delay, but it was still better than listening to that. I've listed to a lot of crap announcers in my life, but at least they were semi intelligent along with their opinions - this guy was utterly incompetent. I've joked a lot the past few years about KU giving me the football coaching job - but listen up KU - I can damn sure announce a basketball game better than this idiot.

Omaha Mavericks - Monday - 6pm - ESPN 2 • Dec 19, 2017 12:51 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Jay Bilas, Dicky V, Doug Shortsonbackwards, Bill Raferty - NONE OF THEM HOLD A CANDLE TO THIS A-HOLE. I shut the sound off at the ten minute mark - there is a 14 second delay on the radio to the TV and that is so much better than listening to that weiner.

Just for giggles and grins • Dec 18, 2017 11:58 AM

Wilt, plus any other 8 people that you'd like to pick out of the stands or rescue shelters.

Vent Here.... • Dec 15, 2017 09:00 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Couldn't see any pics, or that one? Because there's quite a delay between pictures, but it's there. Big and bold.

Vent Here.... • Dec 15, 2017 07:30 PM

As long as we're venting - to whomever runs KUathletics.com - could you please lose the picture of DeVonte and LaGerald holding hands? Thank you.

Do we end the losing streak tomm? • Dec 15, 2017 07:26 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 and @JayHawkFanToo - thanks for the heads up! Last i saw it was 1:00 pm and i was going to DVR it - too much Christmas stuff to get done to waste 2 1/2 hours in front of the tube - especially the way they've been playing.

Do we end the losing streak tomm? • Dec 15, 2017 07:07 PM

@jayballer54 "its likely to be a full house given its KU and its a night game giving it that “Super Bowl” effect for them."

Sorry to nitpick, but isn't it a 1:00 pm tip-off tomorrow?

@JayHawkFanToo That's because if we've one one game per year, we're happy.

Get a petition to make me the coach!!!

We won't win any more games, but we'll have a lot of fun, the fans will be entertained and I'll make 10 times what I'm making now and STILL save the University a buttload of money.

JoJo the Freak • Dec 15, 2017 02:03 PM

He would have been even MORE of a freak if he had stayed in college four years. I mean, who does that ?

One thing that we should all celebrate - we are missing key players, not playing anywhere near our best ball, we are 7-2 and ranked 13th in the country and all of us are TICKED OFF.

Man, it is so great to be a KU basketball fan !!!!

Embiid on Trolling • Dec 14, 2017 09:00 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Can she help us out in the middle?

@wrwlumpy Young is a phony. If he were a real basketball player, his name would be spelled " TREY ".

Agree with @drgnslayr - play there if you feel there's some particular need to - just don't call it a home game - IT AIN'T. We do have one venue that is a little further that we COULD call a home game - the Octagon of Stupid in Manhattan.

Newman • Dec 12, 2017 07:20 PM

@BigBad Took the words right out of my mouth.......

Never thought this day would come - now even I don't want to play WSU. :(

2018 Kansas Jayhawks Football Recruiting • Dec 12, 2017 12:11 PM

@kjayhawks
Doran wouldn't my personal dream coach, but when you say if you pay them enough they will come, I have to vehemently disagree. Nick Saban, Urban Meyer - guys like that wouldn't come to KU if you paid them a billion dollars a month. No frickin way a real coach comes to KU. The only chance we have is to stumble on a good coach like K-State did.

Vent Here.... • Dec 12, 2017 12:07 PM

I don't like this alternate universe where WSU is ranked 10 places ahead of Kansas. There's something dirty and disgusting about this. And one more note to Self and the team:

DON'T LOSE AT HOME ANY MORE. IT TICKS ME OFF.

My glass is feeling half empty right now.

According to Jeff Borzello, ESPN Staff Writer:
"Since that Washington game counts as a home game for Kansas, there are a few stats that come into play. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Kansas hadn’t lost consecutive home games under Bill Self before this week. In fact, the last time it happened was in February 1989, in Roy Williams’ first season as Kansas’ coach. The Jayhawks also had never lost consecutive home games as a ranked team."

Houston, we have a problem.

Vent Here.... • Dec 11, 2017 03:52 PM

Hmmmm... As long as we win the Big 12 again, I'll get over these two early season debacles. Probably.

Marsha fan club • Dec 11, 2017 02:56 PM

@jayballer54 "so I am turning a new leaf"

That has the makings of a good user ID.

2018 Kansas Jayhawks Football Recruiting • Dec 11, 2017 02:52 PM

@kjayhawks Beaty is still here because no other coach in America will take the job except me - and Zenger won't hire me. And I'd dang near work for free.

No disrespect AT ALL to you, @jaybate-1-0, I'm just slightly perplexed at how we go from being ranked #2 in the nation, described by one coach (was it South Dakota State's coach? I don't remember) as "the best college basketball team he's seen in 30 years" to trying to "steal some wins" until the reinforcements arrive.

What in the wide, wide world of sports is a goin on here?

@Crimsonorblue22 I've been as big a KU fan as anyone here, or anyone that anyone here knows - for over 50 years.

If Marshall, by some freak force of nature, ever became our coach - I would never watch another KU basketball game again.

Ever.

Next year • Dec 11, 2017 11:15 AM

NEXT YEAR?

WOW.

I mean, I'm bummed out, ticked off and disgusted too, but NEXT YEAR? That's a bit extreme, I think.

How about we forget about NEXT YEAR and just look forward to football season?

What's wrong with Coach Self? • Dec 08, 2017 10:22 PM

Hey - we're gonna win a lot of games this year. Hopefully a lot in March and all of them in April. BUT - am I the only one that's concerned that we're too " nice " ? Nobody on this team intimidates anybody. I want a couple of big dudes with dreadlocks (don't care if they are black, white, brown, green or whatever (people that is, not the color of the dreads). I want them missing at least one tooth, preferably to have multiple scars on their face and an eye patch would be a nice touch too. And they should never speak - just growl.

Seriously, i think we're too soft.

Any runners here? • Dec 08, 2017 10:08 PM

When I was in my 20's and 30's I used to work out with Arnold. He was so intimidated that he quit and went to another gym. Oh - Arnold Johnson, not ......you know who. Anyway, moving past the BS - I started working out when i was 28 and worked into a routine where i lifted (Very Heavily) Monday, Wednesday and Friday - walked briskly for 3 miles on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, rested on Sunday. I went full bore - read all the muscle mags, took amino acids, protein shakes - the whole nine yards. (No steroids - I ain't completely crazy) The results were very dramatic. I wish I had stayed with the program. By the time I got to be about 50, I could think of a plethora of excuses to not exercize. "It's too hot. It's too cold. It's too windy. I don't give a crap any more". But - i'm 59 now, still in decent shape for my age i think ( My doctor says keep doing what you're doing - your "numbers" look great" ) but I'm really trying to get motivated to do some sort of regular exercise because I know it's good for me and I want to stay around long enough to see Self win 40 conference championships in a row.

Any runners here? • Dec 08, 2017 11:55 AM

I LOVE to run. I run from the couch to the fridge, the fridge back to the couch and the couch to the restroom. It gives me enough energy to get up and go back to the fridge when i'm done.
