What gets fixed first? NCAA or social security? My money is on the retirement check.
Misery fans will think they won the NC
I hear we are playing Duke this year...
Sorry can't take any more of the NCAA and their joke of a system. I heard they had Xion conduct the investigation at Puke. God I hope we crush them with Silvio going for 25 and 15.
She was making approx. $275
@BShark You must be Scandinavian to know about offda! I'm Norwegian. Say it all the time!
Lawson would not make my top 100 let alone a top 10.
1 Manning
2 Valentine
3 Pierce
4 Vaughn
5 Raef
6 Thompson
7 Simien
8 Rush
9 D Jackson
10 Mason
@wrwlumpy Epic of Frank!!
@drgnslayr I have not seen Moss play, how does he compare to B-Rush?
@KUSTEVE It must turn into an NC. You can't have that good of guards and not win it all.
@BShark Yes of cousre just KU players. But thanks for proving the point via TT and UVA!
@HighEliteMajor Yesterday I watched the 2007 epic Big 12 Championship game TX (with Durant) vs. KU and we switched on EVERYTHING back then. But to me the key was our players were so much more athletic and frankly so much better than today's cache of players. The talent we had, especially defensively, was dramatically better than today's players. Rush had 4 blocks that game, forget Sasha or Shady. And they were uber-athletic blocks. So to play D like that again, we are going to need much, much better athletes. I would say our new roster is moving in that direction, but basically every key player on that team played in high-level professional leagues and the main guys had good NBA careers. We are not at that level anymore, thus the drop in D and inability to hedge and switch effectively. When you watch that team, it is just astounding how hard they played and the level of intensity at which they played. Grimes moved on because he did not have that "it" like Russ Rob, Mario, Brandon, and Sherron. As Bill was fond of saying, "They were some hard rockin' cats." Grimes and his ilk are soft fluffy kittens in comparison. I also think we may have underestimated the loss of the influence of Danny and Jank. They were higher level coaches than Snacks and Roberts.
@BShark Why would you insult the athleticism of brooms and rocks like that!!
@KUSTEVE However, lest we forget, Udoka = Made in Nigeria, constructed from 100% pure African glass. Mitch = Made in USA, tough as nails, insert when other parts break.
Experience, grit, great shot blocker...hard to believe the younglings will be better. Would not fits Selfs MO.
Clearly has some game. Yes please.
@justanotherfan If you have never used the NOAH, you will be shocked how quickly you can make a permanent adjustment to your shot. There is a big gap somewhere as to why Dok and Marcus are not progressing more quickly. No reason why elite athletes of their caliber cannot make visible improvement. They may just be stubborn and the coaches have given up. Who knows. I know my HS girls made progress when they used the NOAH.
@HighEliteMajor Or lock him in the gym with the NOAH shot analyzer machine. Most high-schools have them. It tells you a variety of info about each shot so you can modify mistakes immediately. Their is a gym in the freaking dorm for goodness sakes. How can these guys not be improving?
@Crimsonorblue22 Red QB shirt, bike helmet, Kevlar and padded body suit.
@KUSTEVE But other than that he is terrific! 😉
@BShark he also tried hard and had a little nasty.. Grimes was ultra soft.
@KUSTEVE RJ is a DB
@FarmerJayhawk seeing the pics it strikes me that they all are guys that will eat nails and love KU. With Q and Vick we had bad juju going. Psyched up for this group to get back to chopping wood!!!
@HighEliteMajor I seriously think Grimes could not handle the fact the no-name red shirt was SO much better than him. Give me 5 Ochai's over any Grimes-esque 1 and nones (not a typo!) any day! Go Och Go!!
@bmensch1 i think very similar to Downs. Weird dad, not nearly as good as he thinks he is, transfers and fades away. I will bet grimes never makes the league. Good riddance.
Are we looking for white smoke?
Just found this
The deadline for college players to remove their name from the 2019 draft pool if they wish to return to school is 10:59 p.m. Central time Wednesday.
@BeddieKU23 Silvio is a stud!!
@Woodrow thank you.
Do we know what time tomorrow decisions have to be turned in?
Did u see that skinny body. He will get abused by grown men on the court.
@Crimsonorblue22 I called it earlier this week. Now lets see if part 2 and 3 of my prediction come true.
@HighEliteMajor I went with what I had😁 .
@BShark The other options make less sense (transfer, Europe, Gleague) so if he can eat some humble pie KU still is best option. Can they accept that? We shall see. Reality is his feedback is gonna be bad as we knew it would.
Predicting DD and Grimes will both be back and SDS cleared to play. Going with my gut and my heart!
@KUSTEVE What is the active ingredient?
@KUSTEVE My gosh I did not think of that but you are so spot on. They will tell him May 30 he is eligible after he is ineligible. Then there will have to be anothe appeal....aaaargghghhrrhhrhr!
@approxinfinity Following your line they should thus have a quick decision. Bureaucracy, lol!!
@jayballer73 They should be sued for idiocy. Just make a freaking decision already!
Sounds like our only hope of getting DD back is he is O'fer from 3 at the combine. But he is impressing on all other levels. So I will take the other 2 guys cuz DD may be a goner.
Grimes is struggling....what a shocker!!
@DCHawker Wish I had seen this. I actually saw him today while I was at AFH for work. Saw Dok too (he is HUGE)!!
@nuleafjhawk Sorry I am a 1 on the eneigram!
I hope @Gorilla72 is right.
@nuleafjhawk Now that was clever!!
@DanR I am sorry to temper the Dok euphoria slightly with the reality that he has shown zero ability to play a full season. If the glass man breaks again, all the positive mojo of his very welcome return turns into another roster scramble. Especially if there us no SDS.
@drgnslayr He was a full step behind A LOT of college players. He may be 3 steps behind the ave. NBA player.
@dylans I hope he declares his intentions to get a jump shot.
@HighEliteMajor Don't get me wrong, we actually should have won several more, but there are factors at play that are keeping us from being on the same level as Duke, UK, UNC, and even the Uconns and Novas of the world. I equate it to the recent history of the Green Bay Packers (my other favorite team after KU). When you have Farve and Rogers for your QB for nearly 30 years, you should have a lot more than 3 Super Bowl appearances and 2 wins. We are very similar. We make the playoffs every year (which sets us very far apart from the KStates of the world), but we are not winning the big one. In fact, we are more often than not getting embarrassed in the game before the big one. I hate it but it's true. 4% is not enough to honestly say we think we can win it every year. We are the Packers not the Patriots.
The debate of why we are not winning more could perhaps be another very interesting thread (especially if we have been getting "help" from our shoe whores). I WANT to win it every year as much or more than anyone, but I have recently changed my expectations to be more realistic. The reality is, winning our league (total Big 12 domination since the conference began) and going to the tournament every year (which we've done for 30 years running) seems to be much more our ceiling than NCs based on the hard numbers. I would that it were not true, but there is some factor out there that is keeping us from breaking into that more dominant tier a la the Patriots.
@HighEliteMajor History shows that playing to win the NC is not even statistically probable or feasible. If we were winning 2-3 NC's per decade, then maybe. But the reality is we are just an annual tournament team and no better. It kills me to admit this, but winning 4% of the NC's since 1952 would tell me that we really don't have the juice to say we think we can win every year. Are we top tier? Yes. Are we consistently really good? Yes. Are we an all-time great franchise? Yes. Can we really expect to win every year? 4% efficacy rate says No.
@wissox would not hold your breath.
@Crimsonorblue22 You gave yours, so give me a break.
@dylans only first team
@tundrahok I think it's a bit of the "everybody needs a ribbon" syndrome. Always used to just be 1st and 2nd team.
@Crimsonorblue22 The point was the issue of "consensus," not if it's nice to get recognition. The reality is on a team with substandard talent he scored a lot of points and got some boards. Ho hum. He was the best of some really average players. That truth may hurt, I know. End of the day, he just was not all that great despite padding stats on a deficient team. I don't think he would crack my list of Top 100 Hawks.
