@Crimsonorblue22 early 60’s so not all that old but not that young either I am told🤣. I am classified as an essential worker so met the phase 2 guidelines rather than age based.

Got my 2nd shot Friday. Shoulder was tender for awhile but I managed to play two, bad, rounds of golf. No other issues for me or my wife.
@DCHawker getting some early open shots from Braun would be nice. I am not sure if he has backed off on offense or if people are playing him tighter. When I watch him rather than the ball he often has someone on him like glue. He is driving a lot and that makes sense if they are covering him tighter or at least it feels that way
I think it was Dickie V that I first heard say he wouldn’t want to be with a team facing Kansas in the tourney. This game proves that point. May be only the second thing I have agreed with Vitale on🤣

@Crimsonorblue22 I was just thinking that day in day out Mitch was the better option as well. If Dave does not do something good in the first 4 minutes he is in for a bad night so perhaps start him and see if he's on, if not he's done.
How about Harris, Marcus, Ochai, Wilson, Lightfoot? seems scary but based on the season so far that appears to be the most consistant lineup. Unless Christian gets his shot back anyways.
I like Marcus turning it up on offense. I have been bitching all year about him passing up open shots. I think his % is a bit skewed by some late shot clock heaves and his shot is better than his stats. He needs to make people respect his shot.

@BeddieKU23 Lightfoots numbers agree with my take on his, what was it, 3 minutes? I was a bit surprised he didn’t get more time as he seemed to do better than most in his short stint.
I am not lobbying for a steady dose of Mitch but if he is doing well and few others are why not let him roll? Self playing for the future perhaps?
@BShark yeah I don’t expect upper end skill or athleticism out of Mitch but I do expect effort. His blocked shot, foul? Really??, was pure effort. That was about all he showed tho.
I finally had time to watch the game this morning. A few things I picked up were
Marcus was fair at point other than he was trying to hard to get others involved instead of taking what was available. He needs to play the 2 and boy do we have a freshman that can play point
Christian just showed the freshmen the kind of effort they need to display at both ends if they want to steal his starting role. All the upside in the world can’t beat what he showed today.
If big Dave can’t rebound or defend better than what we saw he isn’t going to see the floor much.
I expected more from Mitch his effort seemed lacking which is odd.
Did I mention we have some freshmen that can play? Harris has some sick skills
It is going be an odd game. I expect a lot of miscues on offense from both teams. Defense and someone getting hot and making their own plays is likely to decide this one.

Milwaukee is likely to run into cap trouble sooner rather than later. Having a league minimum backup of Frank’s caliber could become appealing. He might not see the floor much but you never know and even the min salary is quite good.
I agree on long term oil, but short term OKE has my interest.

I am still having difficulty seeing Preston as an issue. Yes he got money I don't doubt that however when it came to light he was instantly benched before ever playing a game, right? So can't KU say yep he got paid and almost snuck that by us but once we got a clue, the car thing, our compliance people were on it in a flash, found the problem, and we reacted accordingly. Isn't that how things are supposed to work?
How about when we run into one of those teams that historically have given us trouble. Five guys that can shoot with a big man that is just big enough and plenty fast enough to slow down our big defensively and is too quick for our big to defend tight and can shoot over him if he don't. I think Mitch will be able to guard those bigs and shoot just well enough from outside to force them to play him honest. I don't trust Enaruna to play that kind of defense as of yet and don't think anyone else will have both the inside D and the outside shot to counter that kind of threat. I'd give Mitch 15 minutes a game just to be ready for that situation to come up to send us home early in the tourney once more.
After seeing some comments about him scattered here and there I decided he needed his own thread.
My main thought on Mitch is we can not judge him on what we seen from him last time he played. We do of course know quite a bit about him, he is a decent rim protector, is not afraid to take a charge or dive for a loose ball, and he will play his heart out for KU. But what has happened to his skill set over the past year?
If I had to guess, which is what I am doing😉, he is going to show up in superb condition. Probably a valid guess from how he looks. I also guess he has spent a lot of time working on his shot from 10 feet out. Which I am confident he has. Now how that will affect his game is something that eludes me.
What is your thoughts? Will we see a 30%+ guy on 3-5 shots from 3 per game? Can he make 70% of his free throws? Will he even get 10 minutes per game? Hell I don’t know, fill me in!
I didn't watch pro ball at all this year, who is Devonte's backup now and could dotson beat him out? Hell here i sit in Charlotte where I had planned to catch a game or two! Poor damn timing on this job dang it.

Sadly I don’t have the option to stay home as of yet. Won’t bore ya with details but “essential worker essential business” stuff. As I have been traveling the last few weeks I have noticed a huge change in behaviors. More masks, often even worn correctly, gloves and sanitizer. Much more effort at social distancing. Easy on planes now as looking about I think there are 10 of us on this 120ish seat plane. 2 rooms sold in a 200 room hotel is kinda crazy but also gives you a chance to stay healthy because staff is cut as well.
Perhaps not everywhere and everybody but there is a behavioral shift going on. Let’s just hope it is not too little to late and those cut workers survive until they can get back to work.
Also it is damn difficult to get a decent meal on the road these days!!

IF we get enough low cost test kits to get a handle on how many people have actually gotten ill without showing symptoms serious enough to know they have even been exposed we can get a true count. If that count represents 60+% of the population having a decent shot of having some immunity or we get a vaccine things will loosen up for next season. Otherwise I think things will be delayed and tbh I do not expect any of the above to happen before the end of the year.
I'd take Paul's team as is. I can think of a couple of different point guards but Mario knows how to win. That would be an inside outside nightmare of a bunch to guard. I can't imagine Wilt could not hit a 3, he did everything else! Probably shoot it as a fall away baby hook. :)
All I can say is great work, and you're a mean one. Stacking my favorites against each other is cruel!

Work trip, for some dang reason I'm considered an essential employee you'd think they'd know better by now. Airports are about dead, you could see from one end of ATL term C to the other it was so empty. Now they have shut down dine in at all restaurants but door dash and the rest are up and going for the most part.
I will admit to being more cautious then normal and practicing good hygiene is never a bad idea.
While I can't tell a story worth a hoot I know who can. Look up Patrick McManus's The art of falling. Every time I read it I think of my little brother who took the art to the next level when ever given a chance :)

I can't believe Doke would take the chance as his draft stock is pretty good. On the other hand it could help Moss. I seriously doubt basketball players get that extra year however.
Trouble with schools shutting down is who is going to take care of the kids, the parents right? A lot of those parents are nurses, EMT's, and other critical personal needed during this epidemic. It is one of those damned if you do damned if you don't problems. Keeping the kids safe is my gut instinct but at the same time I worry we will be missing people we need to keep sick people alive.
perhaps but he does have a point i mentioned on here somewhere. The players can't practice can't even stay together. Some of the players will have summer commitments like internships for their post college employment that if they blow off could affect them down the road. Most venues are booked months in advance if not years. Just what group loses their scheduled activities f the tourney dates are moved?
About the only viable path forward i could see would be to cancel round by round with the higher seeds moving up hoping as time goes on you could get the round of 8 or perhaps just the final 4 played somehow. While for the 1 seeds that would be a great deal for the other 60 teams it would be even more heartbreaking than canceling.
The tournament is a major logistics accomplishment and trying to move it would be a major event that in itself would take months to arrange.

Postponement would cause a huge ripple effect and I am not sure how far they could push it back. Players will be preparing for NBA draft, graduating, moving on to their future careers and so on. A week or two perhaps after that it gets tricky.
