Seems like some Bill Self lip service. I thought he would be a Wooden candidate his sophomore season. And I was way wrong.

WHAT IF the three was a 2.5? 2.4? What if the three had a rolling valuation based upon scarcity of attempts across the league? So lets say on a TNT Tuesday when only 4 teams are playing, and two of them are Golden State and Houston Rockets, the three is barely worth more than a 2, which is good news for the Knicks who are playing the Raptors in the other game.
I repeat though, if Frank can't make it to first round why would Dotson? I think Dotson might be accepting getting drafted second round.

@Marco not thrilled. Recently, with 1.5 feet out the door, Vick returning may have salted the earth on that experience. If (I truly mean "if" as I'm not sure, just have suspicions) he didn't want to be here for year one, I don't think he will want to be here for year two.
I don't want a redemption story. I want no drama and a focused, united team.

Dotson has the fastest lane shuttle so far (2.8 seconds). His standing vertical and max vert (30 and 38.5 inches) are very solid for a guy his size.
Grimes did not do well in the leaping department. A disappointing 27.5 in the standing vert, and just 36 in the max. Grimes has not run yet.
Compare that to National POY Frank Mason's 41 inch vert who went second round ... If Dotson legit wants to go, would he be fine leaving as a second rounder?

I guess I was looking at Josh in comparison to Q. Both being OADs, Josh making a memorable impact and Q making a forgettable one. I think in the case of a 1 year player, getting to know teammates fast and well is critical to your integration with the team.
It might explain the goose eggs a little bit. If Self tried to integrate him on the court but his whole world was disassociated from the team.

Crimson was saying, that indicates only close ties to people who probably initiated the friendship. Someone said he seemed to cut up with the Lawsons. I wonder if that extended off the floor.Team chemistry is important as anything. In that way, Vick and Josh were tighter than Q was with anyone, breaking the law together :)
I still fondly remember Josh as my second favorite OAD. And its close, because Embiid got hurt and Josh was a beast down the stretch.
@wissox I don't really think of Josh as a criminal. I think of him as an arrogant dumbass. Probably a little lost at this point. I don't consider him a bad person because of this, but I don't consider him a good one either. He's going the wrong way at the moment and I hope he gets it together. Maybe the league isnt for him.

Athleticism + the get better gene. If you're as dumb as a brick, athleticism can only get you so far. And if you can't change, but you're not dumb as a brick, pretty much the same thing.
I think it's pretty hard to do everything right leaving a high profile school. Always had a lot of respect for Beilein. Maybe he's a private guy and didn't want to disrupt anyone, and didn't think it was going to happen. I give him the benefit of the doubt here. And also, a free pass for a midlife changeup.
There were some comments int he article where he said that he liked how Beilein didn't try to change the player that he is. Hopefully who he is is exactly what we need and we make that case convincingly.
I mean it's on Josh. Those videoclips of his form weren't very promising. If only someone had taught him good form at age 7.

The Nationals bullpen has been a dumpster fire for the better part of the last decade. I think teams that look at the bullpen as a place to save money are crazy. It's the equivalent of having a bad backup quarterback that always plays in the later quarters of competitive games.
It's amazing how many crappy bullpens there are. I wonder how much of this would go away if every team would pick up an additional starter and go with the short starter long relief stuff we've seen more recently

You can appreciate if he didn't condone paying players, while still acknowledging that some sh-- went down at MSU with the treatment of women that it seems Izzo didn't want to have anything to do with. His statements after the fact were dismissive. And his grad student was permitted to stay on staff after punching a girl in the face for telling him to f--- off. Later, he sexually assaulted another woman.

B. Kansas needs to be a market disruptor to recruit 50-100 nationally. I would like to know if. KU could do a better job distributing it's brand to the youth nationally. In my kids rec league here in VA we have several college team names in our league, some differ each year, some remain the same. We have had a Duke, the VA teams, a couple national teams, Texas twice for instance. Being a coach I mentioned KU. They said one person mentioned it once before but they never did it. How do we have Texas but not Kansas, and how huge is it to put Kansas on a kids youth jersey ? Is there a way we can distribute the brand better?

@jayballer73 I think when talking about Bill, nobody is raising a pitchfork and trying to run him out of town here. But thinking about what other coaches are doing in comparison to Self and how they're achieving success is a healthy topic. I'm sure it's something that Self thinks about himself.
