Depends on what was attached to the payments I suppose. ie go to a certain school or to murder a random person. The Bowenās werenāt given money for nothing. The money isnāt the crime by itself itās what itās purchasing.
Itās just a bunch of junk. Hopefully it all gets cleaned up and levels the playing field (to KUs advantage or not). But that wonāt happen until all the shoecos are investigated and have the fear of god put into them.
Itās like drugs youāve got to get the dealer not the users if you want to eliminated the problem.

Dotson is coming back so no top pg prospect will be coming. Too much mystery in the post for a big time post player to commit at this point - Dedrick?, Dok?, McCormack? DeSousa??? Otherwise Mitch isnāt scaring anyone off. That leaves the wing - Iām not sure why a big time wing prospect hasnāt considered KU for 19 considering Billās track record at the position. Grimes should be gone. Only Garret and KJ returning means big minutes are up for grabs for an elite wing talent.
When playing time is obviously open is when KU does itās best recruiting. Kids just donāt come seem to Kansas as often to sit on the bench as they will Kentucky.

3 straight wins against UK, Duke, and UNC and 2 straight over Sparty is pretty nice! Another chance to pick up a win on Kentucky this season too, but the game I want to see is KU - Duke for the āship.

Self is running the offense thru a superior physical specimen. The far away most skilled guy is upset. This is the exact thing that kept him out of the NBA - lack of athleticism or extreme size. Iād be pissed too itās re-inforcing everything the NBA scouts said and a year off working out isnāt paying off in the ways heād hoped.
Back to the norm. Not much early activity. A nice bout of hand wringing should ensue... and then somehow it works out.
@kjayhawks Yeah, Joel is amazing. I went to the first game that year with the intentions of being blown away by Wiggins. Instead I couldnāt take my eyes off of Embiid. He is truly a transcendent talent if some guy like me can see it from day one!

@HighEliteMajor I guess the difference is you have been busting Selfās balls since he couldnāt win a second national championship and I have been supporting him as a great coach/ambassador. Itās just the camps we are in; Iām willing to give him the benefit of doubt while it seems youāre not.
@BShark Very dipolomatic of you (and I know itās not your argument), but Dedric can be replaced with a frosh McDonaldās AA or a Jr. Top 100 recruit. Grimes replacement would likely be a top 50 recruit a Soph with good game experience.
I think KUās struggle would be a little less against that level of competition. I donāt doubt TCU will give KU a game as long as Fisher is healthy though.
I believe Self likes the USA basketball gig, I doubt he wants to give it up after just getting it. Self was just made a member of the NCAA ethics committee, itās not just KU fans who thought he was above reproach. The trial calls everything into question, but I havenāt seen any reason to crucify the man yet. Nothing but circumstantial evidence and that evidence points to other programs as being dirty and making it impossible for KU to recruit (Zion for example) as much or more than to KU. Or are all the programs in the dark and the Shoecos are messing around behind everyoneās backs?
Bill telling an adidas guy that offers to recruit for him ok. The adidas guy didnāt say Iām going to recruit illegally for you. He said Iām going to send players your way, not Iām going to pay for players. I assume there are legal ways outsiders can recruit for you.
Iām uneasy about this mess, but unless there is something concrete that says oherwise, Bill is my guy.

Talked to a guy who was on the sideline 20ft from Snyder an entire game. He said Bill didnāt say a word the entire game to any player or coach in person. It was weird. He just stood there with an assistant following 5ft behind him carrying stuff for him.
