Quick! Get BIFM on the video conference line. Stat!

Of coarse before KSU has to play them on the road in a few weeks. Man KSUs is just getting everything one could imagine in their corner (WV blew a 21 point lead in Methattan).
Don’t jump to conclusions just yet. They still have to play the game. No game is a “gimme”. Especially not this year.
If you had said NC State would only score 24 points in an entire game during the shot clock era I would have said you’re nuts. But there it is.
As much as KSU is in an enviable position right now they are very capable of soiling the bed, something I fully expect them to do. They’re so used to being a conference afterthought that I don’t think they know how to handle being in first place. The pressure will get to them. Wouldn’t be the first time teams have wilted down the stretch allowing us to retain our rightful spot as conference champs. KSU has been given an opportunity. Let’s see if they can capitalize or if they Bruce it away.
The kind of kid you want to go to war with. His love of KU is evident every second he's on the court. Outstanding game today.
@Woodrow But it would be a real shot in the arm for this group to know it can win a game while missing so many parts.
@Woodrow Baby steps, man. Baby steps.

Sitting a highly decorated Top 15 player would look awful bad to recruits.
Yet, we end up sitting those recruits anyway because they are deemed ineligible.
To change the game we have to quit playing the game and do what's best for the team. Right now I don't even see a team out on the floor. I see five individuals with no cohesion, no cohesiveness and no chemistry.
I don't care who got paid what at this point and I certainly don't care about hurt feelings or some fraudulent pecking order. I don't care about the number of stars next to their name or how great the "experts" think they are. I also don't care about past performance or "potential". Play the guys who have the desire and the hustle and the want-to. I don't even care if THAT starting five are the most talented.
What we're trotting out there now doesn't work. So, try something else.
[Right now this team is like this](
Let the fools have their tartar sauce.
Agree with mayjay here.
We are having a down year of sorts. We are wounded somewhat and struggling somewhat and the rest of the conference knows it. They smell blood and they intend to feast while they can. The simple fact is if they can't take the crown this year it just isn't going to happen. We've beaten up these teams so badly and for so long that anyone who trips us up is going to enjoy it - thoroughly. They'll mock and ridicule and gloat and they absolutely should. To them ,we are like the Yankees and the Patriots - the evil empire. So, let them have their moment if they win and know that we'll start another 20-year beat down streak in the near future.
No surprise Pat Forde is jumping on the smear Self bandwagon as well. How any organization lets a known KU-hater, who graduated from Missouri no less, cover the Jayhawks with such an obvious natural bias is beyond me.
Oh, it's impressive and I'm not blasting your assessment, so please don't take it that way.
But, I think Harden is a total ball hog and I watched him single-handedly lose Houston the playoffs last year by basically dribbling across half-court, taking a couple steps in and launching threes without so much as looking to pass or involve other teammates. I think he literally missed 17 shots in a row.
It was a really pathetic display of professional basketball - if you could even call what I watched "basketball". I'm not an NBA guy at all, but it was a far cry from the 80s-era Celtics-Lakers heavyweight match-ups, that's for sure.
When the league "Harden-proofs" or "Zion-proofs" the sport of basketball as they did for Wilt, then the talking heads can put those guys in the same stratus as Chamberlain. Until then it's just bluster and bombast from the 24-hour news cycle to provide headlines and click bait.
This team is so inept at finishing halves and games. It’s astounding.

This would seem like the first real item that claims SDS didn't have knowledge. I like that the lawyer asked for reinstatement, didn't "demand" it. Maybe the lawyer knows something is coming, releases a statement, so it appears his involvement caused movement. Pieces are maybe coming together.
And Eric Berry IS playing Sunday. It's all coming together indeed ...
I hope "Hack-a- Mack" is a much less successful strategy than "Hack-a-Doke".
Game.
Clutch.
Let’s finish this.
NM is tired. This game is ours.
I guess I missed it - why is Garrett not playing?
KU: 150 MSU: 95 😊

Right now, Nike and Duke are starting to feel the heat and it could get a lot hotter for them.
Am I a bad person for thinking that I might be okay with KU forfeiting a few wins or a couple of scholarships as punishment if it ends up taking Duke down?

@tis4tim Get sponsored by Dr Scholl's!
Ha! I know that comment was meant to be pithy and humorous, and mine was certainly tongue-in-cheek, but sadly that's probably what would happen if the NCAA banned shoes. The void would be filled by some entity with deep pockets. Perhaps Sharpie would pay kids to draw a "swoosh" or stripes on their feet in lieu of footwear. Or some tattoo parlor would simply tattoo a pair of Nikes on some player's feet to gain brand exposure.
By the way, my response is brought to you by Quaker Oats.
Barefoot basketball. It's the only solution.

If people are paying for a average at best Bowen type player rest assured Parker, Zion, Carter and Bagley all got a truck full of cash to go Duke.
Actually, it's a car full of cash and they all got to keep the car - a BMW, I believe.
@JayHawkFanToo @approxinfinity
Hilarious!
Also - sorry Approx for the size of the file I posted! I didn't have time to photoshop it and make it smaller. Feel free to delete if necessary to keep the thread readable.
Mitch looking rather Gangnam Style in that pic.

Thought about taking a kid whose family I am friends with. You guys think 6 is old enough?
Unequivocally yes! I took my then 5-year-old daughter to her first game two years ago. She absolutely loved it!
To pass on the sage advice fellow posters gave me: Please take earplugs for the little one.
30 days ...

I would rather see the first and second place teams from a mid major make the tournament as bubble teams than seeing the sixth or seventh place team from a P5 league make the tournament.
Trae Young would like to have a word with you ...

I’d go for statues of both Roy and Self.
As long as the statue of Roy includes a Jayhawk sticker then I'm fine with it.

@wrwlumpy Watching the games on TV is MUCH better than watching a cruise on TV.
Not always.

Dotson looks like the fastest guard Self has ever had at KU w/ the ball.
Can he make bunnies?

Also, a player can now play in 4 games and not lose the red shirt.
Are there stipulations on when those 4 games are played? Surely you can't stash a guy for the entire year and then let him play 4 games in conference tourney or big tourney or stash him on the bench for future foul trouble issues or anything like that.
Thanks for posting that link. If there is any truth to that story we are going to have a sports renaissance at KU and Girod is the right man for the job.
The disturbing aspect of that story is how we continue to be hamstrung by outgoing personnel. BGL with Zenger and I seem to recall good ol' Lew Perkins doing some damage on his way out as well. It also appears Zenger was much more of a do-nothing AD than many suspected. If those with the funds would not contribute to fundraisers then that negates the one strength most thought he possessed.
Jeebus.
I don't want to be negative and jump to premature conclusions, but it appears KU has become the sacrificial lamb in this whole sordid pay-for-play scenario. The general public doesn't care which major school goes down for system-wide transgressions as long as someone goes down and it appears all eyes are on KU.
Not to diminish hazing at all so please don't take my comment that way, but I don't even truly know where an incident like this lies on the transgression spectrum when compared to, say, decades of academic fraud. Neither does Joe Public. Whether this article represents irrefutable truth or just baseless allegations, provable or not, this garnered a big, juicy headline and unfortunately that's all that's necessary to slant opinion in today's click-bait world.
I'd wager that we're going to hear more and more things coming out now about our school and our program as the dominoes begin to fall. Mark my words: this is just the start. Unlock your cabinet and clean your rifle. It's now open season on the Jayhawks.
Serious question: If kids are allowed to retain eligibility should they not get drafted, how is that going to affect recruiting new kids? Coaches already over-recruit to some degree anticipating departures. Seems like allowing a kid to come back will create more "force out" decisions to make room. So, is that really a better scenario? I suppose if logical deadlines are put in place it may not affect much, but I'd hate to see guys like Mitch forced out because a potential NBA-bound player didn't get drafted and decided to come back putting the roster over the limit.

Heck, KU might even be a Nike school in the not too distant future. Or perhaps the University will go with Red Wing!
I think it's high time Zips makes a play for the college athletic market. Or maybe Kangaroos.
Speaking of great stories, the link below is a tough read for any parent but its again a reflection of how amazing the extended Jayhawk family is.
I’ve lost all respect for Duke.
That’s what I would say if I had any to begin with.
What's Ed Hightower up to these days?
Cut down the TOs, get some 3s to drop and this game is ours.
I’’m encouraged overall. We’re in good shape.
Dammit.
A 2 for 1 is in order here. And then blitz them in the second half.
Finish the half strong!
Boom!
Okay time for a run!
Oof.
It’s there for the taking. Just gotta take it.
Weve had a few bumps not called as well. I dont want a ticky-tack game. Let ‘em play a bit.
