Have the rules changed? It used to be when you hired an agent, you had to stay in the draft.
You can hire a approved agent and still return to school.
Scott Drew turned Kentucky down and is staying at Baylor.
Sounds like Oats, Hurley and Donovan are out. If Drew turns them down, look out!
Ummm… he pretty definitely did not do that. He was pretty clear of his intentions to stay at UCONN.
We still have 3 weeks until the portal closes. My guess who we get is not in the portal yet. I think it also depends on who takes the Kentucky job. If it’s Donovan then the carousel stops, but if it’s Drew then it keeps spinning. If it’s Drew then more and more players will become available.
I hope both teams move now.
74-61 KU. We should really be able to get any shot we want. If we have less than 10 turnovers this could be an easy blowout. Break the press and get easy layups. Half court offense should go completely through Hunter. Could be a 25&15 game for him.
Hunter and Kevin will both be playing when it counts.
Was just told no Hunter or Kevin for the B12. Hope they can get healthy for the ncaa.

He was ejected from the game. And with that he also allows TT to score free points.
Previous games he’s cost us points with technicals.

Man, that was a total embarrassment. We should not lose by nearly 30 pts to anybody, ever, with or without players. At the very least our two dozen deep coaching staff should be able to keep it more competitive.
Self is losing his shit way more frequently this season. That’s also getting embarrassing. Bark all you want at the crap roster you created, not at the refs. Not their fault.
I’m almost wondering if we should be worrying about Self. Sacrilege, I know.
How did Self "lose his shit" ?? Please be specific.
He didn't lose his shit though. He didn't even cuss at the officials. Also, the 4 free throws were pointless.

Fran was the one that said it. Having the scholarship reduction, a player on scholarship and red shirting, and the Morris situation have made this years roster what it is. They are still going to be a 2 or 3 seed in the tournament.

Children’s mercy holds like 18k people, those tickets will be hot.
It makes no sense to play there, but whatever. There are going to be some pissed off STH that don't get tickets.
Great to see him back out there yesterday. Hope he can have a big year. He went through a lot of scary sh*t.
Torvik has a projected spread of KU -3 and KenPom is KU -6. So this game might be closer than we want it to be. Hopefully it is not.
This should be a game where KU comes out, and forces the ball to Hunter to get some easy baskets, and hopefully build a lead.
@dylans No. This was an ongoing issue all year. He had way more than two bad ones against Michigan.
He and Kevin are close friends. Doubt Kevin has anything to do with this.
@Gorilla72 He said today he would announce his decision on Jan 1. I would bet he is coming back.

If FSU wins they have to be in. If Bama wins , you can’t put them in and NOT Texas. They would have the same record , both conference champs, but Texas obviously Beat Bama at Bama by 10.
Losing Jordan Travis matters and an ugly win tonight won't help FSU's cause because they aren't a better team than Texas without Travis.
That’s never really mattered though. It’s never the 4 “best” teams. If FSU goes 13-0 they deserve to be in.

Wild day of hoops. Great sports day so far!
Penn St wins in 5
@kjayhawks It has been reported by both Swain from the KU 247 site and the guy that writes for the Penn St site that he was in town and did meet with AK. We will know one way or another tomorrow I bet.
@nuleafjhawk Of course they do. KU athletes do all sorts of things around town for kids and what not. Saw a video this week of the Michigan star RB using his NIL money to buy turkeys and pass them out this week to families in need.
As always a lot of the good stuff never gets publicized. I would venture to guess a lot of kids use their platform to help other people.
Still love and watch college sports as much as I always have. I am happy the players can make some money off of themselves to help take care of their families, do charity work, and enjoy college life a little bit more. I am never against people making more money.

How's Bean for Saturday?
I’m guessing he doesn’t play
Hunter has been fantastic as a Jayhawk on and off the court. Lucky to have him.
Wasn’t there some people on here bad mouthing Hunter before the year?

These announcers are absolutely ridiculous with the Dickinson superlatives. This guy isnt Jokic, this guy is not a POY candidate. Its great to dream, I guess.
He is a consensus first team AA. Of course he is a POY candidate.

I'd be more excited if Hunter wasn't such a douche
Why is he a "douche"??
Bean just folds under pressure. We have seen it time and time again.
This team is going to start the season ranked #1. It is wild to me all the bitching and moaning this off season.
On the up and up!

that switch gif being used by trilly doesn't make sense for just some "visits"
Nobody has a clue. Just people throwing out every single idea possible to see what sticks.
I will go 48-17. I think the offense will roll, but I am not sure how long the starters will play. However, we know Bean is capable of putting points on the board. I think the main focus will be on the defense. We won't learn a ton playing against MO St., but if we can get pressure against these guys it might be a long year. Kind of hope it is just a vanilla game with a butt kicking.

Sounds like it will be in August. Around August 12th or so.
I just saw this morning the game is on ESPN + if anyone wants to watch.

The 🐐 Phil Steele forecasts us to allow 31.4 a game. So we’ll see how it goes but we should be able to score enough to at least go .500.
What did he predict for the offense, because I think they will average 35-38 a game. They will drop 45 plus a couple times this year.

Looks like he is a free agent. Hopefully he can find a landing spot in the coming weeks.
@Kcmatt7 said in Gradey Dick:
Yea I mean he's a lock to go top 15. And I don't think there is much room for him to move up. I've see him mocked as high as 7. But consensus is like 10th/11th I think.
Almost every mock I have seen post lottery draw has him going 9-11. Going 10 to Dallas would be awesome for him. Luka would get him endless open looks.
@FarmerJayhawk said in Welcome Parker Braun!:
@rockchalkjayhawk a bit. Makes me think we'll use all 12
Have to use all 12 now. Need a backup big and a legit wing. I’m not exactly confident that those two are out there, but that’s what the roster needs. I’d say wing has to be priority 1.
@RockkChalkk said in 2023 Recruiting:
Hunter could be for two years, right?
Technically, but I doubt that’s his plan.
I guess that’s the new landscape. I don’t think Bill would do this under normal circumstances, but Hunter charges the whole trajectory of the team next year if we get him. Sometimes you are going to have to risk losing a 3-4 year player for a 1 year rental if you think it gets you to the next level.
@FarmerJayhawk said in 2023 Recruiting:
We’ll see what happens but Mgbako might not make all his visits. RCJH
Obviously still a huge IF, but IF Hunter committed as well where do you think the extra scholarship would come from? Zuby??

Is the negative attention nationwide or only on this site? I would guess that many of the kids playing college sports come with some kind of risk. I would also. think that when a court decision is made then a decision will be made on his playing or not. Let's not be judge, jury and executioners since we know only what the media has chosen to give us.
I haven’t seen one national person even comment on this signing let alone write about it. So let’s just say it’s a nationwide outrage.
The commitment just happened yesterday and the NFL Draft is going on this weekend. We'll probably hear a little bit about it next week.
So people that cover college basketball don’t have time to fire off a tweet because the draft is on? That’s your take?

@Woodrow We're fans being fans! We all know we don't have the ultimate answer, but this signing deserves some scrutiny. I hope a year from now we'll be saying we were wrong about.
You can scrutinize it without being an over dramatic drama queen though. ( not saying you are doing that) I mean FFS we have people questioning the program and Self. Being hyperbolic doesn’t really help get the point across. It just makes people laugh at you.
