Will be interesting to see how all this plays out.

I don't think Dotson and Grimes are too worried. Zero chance Cunliffe plays now though and I bet Agbaji takes a RS.

Yea I agree with both. Sam has to be very disappointed. I think I’ve seem the word “stunner” about 5 different times on Twitter already. Really bizarre situation.

Luke Heimlich - A Possible Way To Approach • Jun 29, 2018 10:44 PM

Yes. He has already passed a polygraph test.

Cross another target off. He’s referencing KU in this tweet.

Dedric • Jun 29, 2018 04:00 PM

Self is putting so extremely lofty expectations on Dedcric this year. I mean it’s first team AA or bust at this point!

I will say that mostly what Self says in the Summer is pretty calculated and probably should be taken with a grain of salt. However, I’m fully expecting 22 / 10 and prayer of the year at this point. 😃

Zenger Fired • Jun 29, 2018 03:30 PM

Would have been a great hire. Hopefully not a ominous sign.

Girod and KU just got turned down by the AD at SMU.

A Beaty firing means KU starts completely over for the fourth time this decade, which resets the clock on being competitive back to zero.

That mass exodus that @Woodrow mentioned will mean that scholarship numbers will be back at first year levels when Beaty started (65ish scholarship players). That will take two more years for KU to even get back to a full compliment of scholarships, then a couple of years after that to be Power 5 competitive.

That's a nightmare scenario, as it pushes KU being competitive in the Big 12 all the way out to 2023 or so.

I agree 100%. I am on the record saying they need to ride Beaty out for this year and see what happens. The Louisiana pipeline that he and Hull are building is a real thing and that will be gone with his firing.

If this year there is no true sign of progress and is a complete dumpster fire then the new AD's hand is going to be forced and back to square 1 we go.

I really hope that the AD they hire has a connection to a decent coach. I saw where the SMU AD was rumored if you could get him and Chad Morris that would work.

@Woodrow I would be shocked if someone came in and didn't bring their own guy in to be OC.

Beaty being fired and Hull becoming OC with a new HC seems like a pipe dream. I could see him still being an assistant, but not at the level of OC.

I completely agree. I honestly wasn't sure if he was being serious. Thinking Hull will be elevated to the OC with a new HC is laughable.

#1 TE in Kansas commits to KU verbally • Jun 27, 2018 03:53 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 You think the next coach is going to come in and make Hull the OC??

#1 TE in Kansas commits to KU verbally • Jun 27, 2018 02:40 PM

This was a good get by the staff. LeGendre will bolt when / if Beaty is fired. He is a big time talent so that will suck, but there will be a mass exodus if Beaty is let go.

If The Royals Sign Luke Heimlich • Jun 25, 2018 04:25 PM

@Kcmatt7 I agree with you on this. If someone has committed a crime and fulfilled their punishment then they deserve a second chance.

I remember all the Chiefs fans in a uproar when they drafted Ty Hill. All of them saying I am not going to cheer for the Chiefs anymore and I am not going to go to another game. Now they chant his name on punt returns and you see his jerseys all over town.

How many years do you give Lue? • Jun 23, 2018 12:47 AM

Probably longer than if LeBron stays. With LBJ it’s championship or bust. Without him it’s a rebuild. If he shows he can coach and teach young players which they haven’t had then he will stick around.

That's pretty wild!

NBA draft • Jun 22, 2018 06:33 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Would have been something to see how far he would have fallen had the Kroenke's not been there to save him.

There has to be some serious red flags in his medical for him to fall that far.

Puma signs Bagley, looks to sign others • Jun 18, 2018 08:04 PM

@JayHawkFanToo I saw a quote where Ayton said he basically signed with Puma because of the money. Had nothing to do with anything else.

World Cup Odds • Jun 14, 2018 06:38 PM

@kjayhawks I agree. I doubt I watch one second of the WC. I loved soccer as a kid. I played for 6-7 years and just could care less about it now.

No More Blocking Transfers • Jun 14, 2018 02:48 PM

If kids were not forced to sit out a year it would just be open recruiting season all year long. Self has been asked about this and I think his comment was there would be recruiting in the handshake lines after games. It would ridiculous. If there is not a coaching change and or a family issue kids need to sit out a year. If you don't want to be recruited over go to a school where you know you can compete.

Anyone watching NBA Playoffs? • Jun 11, 2018 12:23 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 people are extremely over reacting to LeBron owning a house in LA. He’s not going to the Lakers. If he leaves Cleveland it is going to be to a team that has established superstars that can compete for titles.

Anyone watching NBA Playoffs? • Jun 10, 2018 05:12 AM

Why would LeBron go to LA? They are terrible. Approximately zero chance he goes to LA.

2019 Recruiting • Jun 09, 2018 07:19 PM

Losing out on JRE would be one tough one to swallow. Kid is a beast and Self and co have invested so much time. I think they will get the job done.

Anyone watching NBA Playoffs? • Jun 09, 2018 07:18 PM

If LeBron leaves Cleveland which I think he will I think he ends up in Boston or Philadelphia. Doesn’t make sense to join a team in the West unless it’s Houston.

@BShark yep. Would have loved to have seen Paul play that whole series.

Keegan Gushing Over McCormack • Jun 09, 2018 07:15 PM

I actually would be more surprised if he didn’t play. If he was under the impression that he was not going to play I would think he would have left school and gone to Europe or somewhere else to play.

Good to see SDS getting in some work.

Lagerald Vick: The Pool Is Closed • Jun 04, 2018 09:12 PM

Yep. This is not surprising. I am do not know why anyone thought there was a chance for him to come back. Like I said in another thread Self does not want him back.

Draft Declarations Thread • Jun 02, 2018 07:02 PM

@HawkChamp who said they scheduled a meeting?

Draft Declarations Thread • Jun 02, 2018 03:55 AM

Self doesn’t want him back. It would be a miracle if he ended up back at KU.

OFFICIAL: UDUNKA BACK FOR YEAR 3 (ish) • May 30, 2018 06:23 PM

This is exactly how I thought this would play out. Sounds like Doke learned a few things and has improved over the Summer. Looking forward to seeing that in the upcoming season.

Draft Declarations Thread • May 30, 2018 03:09 PM

Reid Travis is withdrawing from the draft and will be grad transfer. Sounds like he is heading to Kentucky. Enormous addition for them. He would have been first team all PAC 12 next year.

Don’t count on De Sousa. From all the reporting he won’t be available—either it will be uncertain if he is clear to play or he will have moved on. I would love for him be available but the odds seem very much against it being so.

If he was going to move on wouldn't he had done so by now?

So disappointed in the Sixers in this series. Have absolutely laid a egg. Simmons has been garbage.

@BShark

It was posted in KU forums including this one that Moore was playing great and was practically “unguardable” in practice. I don’t recall who posted it by maybe that poster can chime in?

That was me that said that about Moore. I heard it from someone that gets to watch practice quite often and is close to the program....

Draft Declarations Thread • May 01, 2018 12:14 PM

Vick will probably get his shot as a lot of big names are declining invites which is normal.

Langford • May 01, 2018 12:59 AM

@BShark yea that’s the quote I saw. Not good at all.

As far as the Dad I assume he didn’t come out and eliminate KU because then there would be no suspense if there really was any today. I agree it’s a bad look. Obviously the family / Romeo like some attention. So it makes sense to go the Trae Young route.

Langford • May 01, 2018 12:53 AM

@BShark the FBI “scandal” is going to be a hurdle for Self and staff. The quote I saw was his Dad basically saying having the schools name associated with the FBI case eliminated them.

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 30, 2018 09:16 PM

@Gorilla72 True story. I was not really expecting much from Moore next year so when I was told this I was quite encouraged.

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 30, 2018 08:31 PM

I actually heard that Moore was really good in practice last year and surprised the staff quite a bit. At some points he was "unguardable".

Langford • Apr 30, 2018 08:30 PM

@JayHawkFanToo You think Self ever flies commercial?! Come on now. He has multiple jets at his disposal. In his contract he gets up to so many hours for personal use a year.

Langford • Apr 30, 2018 07:26 PM

This decision is not going to be a surprise to everyone.

@FarmerJayhawk so from you are hearing the decision was made yesterday for IU? Done deal?

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 29, 2018 03:42 PM

Very surprised as well. Johnathan Givony doesn’t even have Doke in his top 100 prospect list. I believe he has Billy at 86.

Also Vick is a alternate so if some guys decline the invite which happens by top prospects he could get to go.

Dorrance Armstrong drafted • Apr 28, 2018 11:28 PM

Good for him. I thought he would go in the 3rd round, but I have no doubt he will be a productive NFL player. He was a joy to watch one of the few in his time at KU.
