Other than the Duke elite 8 game...it's been a long...long time since I can remember 2 solid halves from a ku team. Maybe the ou/ku game from 2 years ago.
Remember when it was 7 to 0 and @BShark was all excited to be right for the second time this season. Yeah....that was awesome.
That was a 3???
Vick was active till the Nebraska game last year. Then the whole...I'll just stand in the corner and wait for the lob call. But yet he played 35 min a game.
THIS Grimes kid is the Michigan state grimes kid I've been hoping for.
11...
Should be 3 for 3 from 3.
9...9 first half point?
Dedric telegraph's the spin move worse than wiggins.
@KirkIsMyHinrich and a walk?
Did someone say garrett was out tonight? I've missed the last 2 days of updates.
@BeddieKU23 yeah...he travelled on the foul as well. I think he walked on the dunk as well.
@BShark east coast here...par for the course. Somehow time ceases to exist when KU comes on. The worst (actually the best) was KU ou. 3 ots and jacked up watching the highlights over and over again...next thing you know...4am nigh nigh time for a 5am wake up
@BShark need to get Williams in foul trouble. He won't play defense to ensure he stays on the court. Presuming doke doesn't walk or give the chicken wing hook...he sh I uld get 25.
Im excited for a top 5 victory tonight. Going to be a good night for doke and lawson.
Here is the list of current players who donned the Jayhawk uniform at least once in their life. Once a Jayhawk, always a Jayhawk...even if your name is Micah, Conner, and/or JR.
Billy somewhat qualifies. I had hope for the kid at one point in my life...thus he makes the list.

I tend to believe that if silvio had any issues with eligibility...he'd be in the NBA draft right now. He'll be there.
Saying that...the 4 guard lineup will be going the way of the dodo this year with Lawson, Doke, Silvio, and 10 minutes of McCormack. Unlike last year, I fully expect KU to win the rebounding advantage every game and the high/low game will be very prominent. I do concede however, that Grimes will most likely shoot more 3's than terry brown, billy thomas, and Jeff Boschee...combined.
@HighEliteMajor 13 for 26 from 3...nba teams can't keep this up...rebound the misses and we'll assert ourselves. We we down by 13 to wvu at halftime...down by 14 with 3 minutes to wvu....down by 9 with 2:12 to memphis...
We are going to win this!!!!
4 minute games...down by 10 at the under 16...down by 6 at 10 minutes...tied at 5 minutes...up by 4 when the 0.0 hits.
I believe!!!!

@bmensch1 Did I miss Malik run-ins with the law?
No...I messed up...had vick on the brain...not malik. Sorry about that

Langford is waiting to see a couple of things.
1) What happens with grad transfers
2) What happens with guys and the NBAI don't know what Vick is going to do at this point. I'm really not sure what he should do.
If KU wins the title, Newman probably has to leave. With the tournament he's had, he almost has to go. Even if they don't win it, Newman has shown something this month that may mean he needs to go. He was an elite talent coming out of HS. He has gotten back to that elite level. His efficiency has exploded, and he's done all of this while averaging fewer than 1.5 turnovers per game, and his rebounding numbers are up.
Every important stat is up from his year at MSU - FG%, PPG, FT%, 3PT%, REB, STL, TO - Malik has become a better all around player, and now his scoring is back to the level a lot of people envisioned when he was coming out of HS (averaged 30 a game in HS). Let's not forget that he was better than Devin Booker coming out of HS. He has shown the handle and shooting stroke, along with a renewed commitment on the defensive end, that could get him paid this year.
Don't forget the most important stat went down from the previous years....number of run ins with the Po-Po. He's stayed pretty clean in the last year and a half or so.

Are you talking about Svi shutting down Bagley of Duke? If that is the case, Svi is really 6'-8" and Bagley 6'-11"...and Svi can jump a lot higher than 3 inches; 10 rebounds against Duke would vouch for that.
Negative....Clay Young versus Syracuse.

Wait is there actual info that Cunliffe is being forced out?
Negative sir. I just presume he will be.
- Kansas Jayhawks
Key Losses: Devonte Graham, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, Malik Newman, Sam Cunliffe, Clay Young
Key Additions: Devon Dotson, Quentin Grimes, David McCormack, Dedric Lawson, K.J. Lawson, Charlie Moore, Ochai Agbaji
The Jayhawks lose a Final Four MOP and Big 12 POY, Midwest Regional MOP, and a tenacious 6'5" dude with a 3" vertical who completely shut down a 7'1" Syracuse big for 21 minutes and was instrumental in proving Self's system, when followed, will work during a stressful time in December. They also lose Sam Cunliffe who came in with high aspirations but requested his release to seek a new adventure elsewhere in search of more playing time. Jayhawks will potentially lose "Mr. November...take off 3 months...and show back up in March" and bmensch1's favorite player, Lagerald Vick to the NBA....but....
The Jayhawks add 3 standout, best in the class, Mcdonald's all american freshman, a legitimate NBA class stud in 6'9" Dedric Lawson who averaged 19.2ppg and 9.9rpg at Memphis, his brother KJ Lawson who averaged 12.3ppg and 8.1rpg at Memphis, and Charlie Moore who averaged 12.2ppg and 3.5apg at California. The 3 transfers, Sam Cunliffe, and Clay Young proved to be a standout team that beat the 2017-18 Final Four KU starters on a regular basis in practice games per reports.
The only plans the Jayhawk faithful should make on April 8, 2019 is either a trip to Minneapolis, MN or party planning for an 11:37 EST party to celebrate back to back National championships.
2-337. Who Cares...4,368 kids just wasted their time playing for second place. Well there are the 26 kids who will live their championship moments with an NIT and CBI victory parade.
bmensch1 picked Kansas on 10/15/17 and strongly maintains his position. As much as I enjoy the Kenpom rankings, Sagarin, CBS, ESPN, SI, or whomever experts...I find their selections often flawed.

@Bosthawk negative...that would be Bragg. He was a cancer.
2017-18 record...12 minutes 29 seconds and I'm at zero "why the eff can't we get a rebound?"....previous record...2 min 36 seconds
Most of emotion I've seen from silvio all year...combined
Mention the doke hook...but not the Clemson push off...come on nantzy
Grahambo is one made shot to getting that killer instinct. When that ball goes thru the net...fire away young man.
Silvio had no idea what to do on that possession.
With no true inside presence today...that means the Jayhawks shoot 40 threes today. 19 will go in. Devonte with 32 and SVI with 25. Vick balls out today with 23. Top thread(s) this evening will be DG is obviously player of the year and (2) Vick is back from his 2 1/2 month hiatus. Rock Chalk!!!!!!
Jared Jefferies hasn't been in college in 15 years and he's on the report. This is comical that the FBI is connected to a potential NCAA amateurism question involving an athlete taking a loan for as little as $71.39.
So...that uhhh Texas Tech game should be pretty good tomorrow. It's nice that KU is on gameday for the 2nd week in a row and we'll get to see Jay-Will superman that KU blue and shortly follow with flock of boo birds.

One of my co-workers thinks maybe OU has tanked since they realized thery weren't going to win the conference a week or so ago. Sounds risky but ik plenty of folks that think UK tanked towards the end of 2014 to get an 9/10 so if they made it out of the first weekend, they'd have a better road. It worked for them that year if they actually did it. Just an interesting scenario.
Tanking? For the ncaa tournament???? That doesn't make any sense. The only "easy" game in the ncaa is the first game. I can never...ever be convinced of tanking for an ncaa tourney seed.
And playing in the nit is poo poo. The cbi is merely an avenue to let programs showcase what head coaching jobs are soon to be available. So I don't see where tanking would ever exist in college basketball. Unless if the players hate the coach and they want a new one. That's the only instance I can fathom.

Agree with most of the Duece bashing, but I gotta admit, some of those passes were things of beauty.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The 3/4 court bounce pass to the cherry picker was great, and there were several bullets he put in the perfect place. But as I maintain, 5, 6, 7...or even 12 good passes doesn't make up for all the negatives.
I do concede that I'm a homer. If he said KU instead of OU, I'd be fist fighting people who pointed out his flaws; but, he didn't so I cheer for him to continue jacking them up at a 35-ish% clip, cry to the media that it's unfair that people scout him, and to continue dribbling with his left hand because it's an 80% chance for a turnover.
I'm sure it keeps him up at night knowing I don't like him!
@BShark Self isn't crazy...but if Devonte or Svi launch 35 footers...they're sitting on the bench. Trae won't shoot from the line, he will only shoot from 10 feet beyond the line because that's what gets him attention and also because he can't free himself for an open jump shot.
If the refs called his swim move every time he drove...he would only be allowed to play 5 minutes a game. When he passes the ball...he turns into a statue and won't move anymore. He can't find his own shot.
On defense he won't go through a screen or on top...always below because that's the easy way out.
I could care less about that dude anymore because I don't think KU will ever play him again...but his cons greatly outnumber his pros.
My despise for Young increases more daily. But something I saw I thought was very enjoyable:
“MITCH SLAPPED”. verb
-when an opponent is going in for an easy bucket and Mitch F’ing Lightfoot flies out of nowhere & swats that shot into oblivion
In a sentence:
-KU literally MITCH Slapped Trae Young and the Sooners last night.
@HighEliteMajor thanks for the information. I've perused the indictment and still couldnt wrap my head around the potential for 80 years in the pokey. Will they get that...of course not. But that's the max. Crazier things have happened.
The fbi can name all the names they want...but the ncaa will in no way put 1/6 of the ncaa on probation. It was going to take the ncaa 4 months to look at billy...and now we are led to believe they are going to look at 50 schools and analyze about 200 players eligibility issues...at blue bloods...with espn, fox, and cbs whom have invested billions in brodcast rights and there is a potential of an NJIT vs the campbell fighting camels in the ncaa championship....negative. ain't gonna happen. Merely sending a note to everyone saying "we know you effed up. Be careful the next time. " should be sufficient.
So I'm a dummy here. I've watched videos, read articles...whatever to try to get real insight on this scandal. I understand the money laundering I guess....but breaking this down into simple talk...what did people do to really get into trouble? I mean, the facing 80 years in the pen kind of trouble. Some kids got paid to go to school. So what? That's an amateur problem which should be decided by the NCAA. I get where the families could get in trouble with the Al Capone treatment as they didn't pay federal income taxes on the "bribes". Same goes with the coaches as well. But what else? I understand this as the public universities were not providing cash...thus federal and/or state funds weren't used.
Can someone dumb this down to really say what the big problem is...besides the obvious a professional is playing an amateur sport? Why is the FBI involved in this? Maybe I've watched The Untouchables too many times...but I feel like this is a job for Elliot Ness and Sean Connery (I can't remember his name, but only he lives on Racine)...certainly not the FBI.
Is it as simple as @JayHawkFanToo stated and it deals with if the schools knew about the kids getting paid...and then the school gave the kid a scholarship for which the kid was not eligible for...it would then be classified as a misappropriation of federal subsidies???? I never really thought of it like that...but that's the best explanation I've heard.
@Crimsonorblue22 There are only 3 more games left. It's weird...they play on the 9th...and then take a month off (or so) till 3/2 and then play on 3/9. weird schedule.
I tried to find out how much cash he gave up KU for...but trying to find the bottom of the barrel eurobasketball salaries is quite difficult. I merely tried to math it out and came with he's somewhere in the $2k to $4k per month based on yearly budget for the club. Probably gets a car and an apartment too. (I hate to set myself up with that perfect softball right there for the internet trolls, but it's typical in Europe to give that to Americans)
Billy Preston
1st game: 6 minutes, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 of 3 shooting (0-0 from the line, 0-0 from 3), -2 +/-, 3 fouls in a 94-92 winning game
2nd game: 20 minutes, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 of 12 shooting (3-4 from the line, 0-1 from 3), -10 +/-, 5 fouls in a 93-79 loss
I think ol Bartenderchic mama was slightly misinformed. Billy preston first game...6 minutes, 3 fouls, 2 points, 1/3 shooting, 1 stael, 1 rebound. I don't have stats from 2000 years ago, but I'm pretty sure jesus Christ had a better debut.
The worst part about the whole thing is when doke takes his practice form shot...it's not bad. He follows a lot of the rules. But like my golf game, I'll get 100 tips of advice, watch hours of videos, have a perfect swing in practice...hell, I'll even hit good at the range...then showtime happens and "Bloop". My ball is scuba steve and Im already down a couple of bucks.
Is underhanded the right way...not sure. Underhanded is incredibly difficult. I tried it just at the local gym a couple of times just to see what it was like. I couldnt get it. Granted, using me as a basketball experimental control is not wise as I'm no d1 player...probably not even a d-61 player if that even existed.
All I need is osu to pull this out, ku to win, zion to commit to lawrence and I can call it a good day. And to confirm, I believe only 33% of the aforementioned will come true.
Is tech just getting throttled by the cyclones or are they just playing bad? I haven't watched a single minute of that game.
@KirkIsMyHinrich agreed 100%. At the beginning osu was rebounding quite well. But I think the emotions just wore off.
@mayjay I could go on for quite a while why I don't like trae Young's game; but, it would just come down to the fact that OU doesn't have much of anything else and the kid isn't punished for selfish and/or bone head plays. So shoot on young man. Keep firing those 15 35 footers up. Nobody is talking about the 13 you miss...but only the 2 that you make.
@KirkIsMyHinrich osu just needs to make shots. Started the first 5 minutes with only 1 bucket. And I can only remember 2 others since. First 9 minutes and only 3 buckets and they've had probably 10 real good shots...just ain't gonna cut it.
Check out this abismal trae young show going on now. He's like 1 for 8 right now, ou down by 15 and he's still jacking up 35 footers...cause hey, they went in one time before and got him on sportscenter.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but...hook 'em horns.
